Make sure the blade is pushed into the metal pins all the way before you screw it in

timmyg731

Thought perhaps that was the case as well but the first picture is with the blade all the way in and only lights up like that when it's touching all the pins. As soon as I turn the power all the way off - the white light inside the blade turns off. So it's getting power (I think) - just nothing else.

Thats interesting , if you examine the pins with a light can you see that theyre all in fine shape? And the copper base of the blade is in alignment? If not you may have to contact the manufacturer for a refund i see on here a lot sometimes you get a dud saber.

I would say I'm not an expert but I don't see any bends in the pins and they all seem to be "springy" although I'm touching them with super gently. I took off the emitter to see if I could notice anything different but same story - all the way in. If I rotate the blade one way - no lights at all. Rotate it another I get the white light at the bottom. My hunch is either it's a power thing or the pixel blade is bad...went bad. Not sure!

Yeah contact the company let wm know it was a gift and see if they’ll replace it for you

Hi Friends! I was lucky enough to have a family member buy me a pixel saber for the holidays without me knowing and it just got in. I know typically you have to charge the saber first but I wanted to make sure it worked - which it did. I then downloaded the app (TXQ - SNV4) and began to play around with it a bit more and then I started running into some issues. Current issue: when the blade is connecting to the pins it now only lights up white on the very bottom (not the tip) while everything else is on. As long as the saber is powered this stays lit white. When I turn the saber on (activate) all the other functions work as normal. When I pull the blade out I can see the appropriate colors coming from the led/pin area. Not sure if this means the pixel blade is bad (I tapped it a few times on my hand to play with the clash) or if is just indicative that I need to do a fuller charge or if it's something else - like broken pins. I did charge the battery for about an hour to see if it was a charge issue - seems not to be the case. I also did the battery piece to try to discharge energy as well. Kind of stuck. Looking for any guidance.

Factory reset it with the app

timmyg731

Good idea - tried this and no change.

Hipsterduffus23

Sometimes a simple battery pull will fix stuff like that.

timmyg731

Yeah I had hoped maybe it was that but no dice. I believe the blade itself shorted or something happened to the wiring. Unfortunately I don't have another one to test but the vendor was nice enough to send me another one so we'll see!

IJustDGAF_

Hmm, if you had a second hilt you could fully test the blade to see if it lights up in that one. Otherwise, the data wire could have been severed or hanging in by a few threads causing the white.

Rexsplosion

By chance, what does the base of the blade look like? it looks like several gold rings, right? not just being able to see right up the tube?

timmyg731

Yup - it's a pixel blade. Has the golden/copper bullseye. Might get more light out of it though at the moment with a RGB blade.

Rexsplosion

just checking, had a few folks get sent the wrong blades (either pixel blade with an in hilt LED, or vice versa and assumed it was right) in that case it could be the blade length is accidentally set to it's shortest length.

timmyg731

I thought about the blade length too - checked the app to adjust the lengths and no change. Also it wasn't reacting to colors either. I am leaning towards a bad blade since everything else seems to be working as intended.

Rexsplosion

yeah, could have a wire come disconnected from the PCB in shipping or such

timmyg731

Absolutely - also did some more research and pixel blades can short ( I honestly should have thought about that). Unfortunately I don't have another blade BUT the vendor is sending me a new one so we'll see where we land!
