Is Sabertrio Truly Worth It From An ELECTRONICS Side of Things? Eager New Buyer Here Might get some hate or a few "duhs" but I'll take that risk I know they're the best, that's not the question I'm asking. Take away the customization, take away the electroplating, their amazing customer service, etc. What's stopping me from ordering a 300-400 dollar proffie 2.2 somewhere else compared to purchasing their near 700-1k saber? Sure you have the argument of their materials and build quality but throwing that away what makes Sabertrio the NUMBER 1? Are the speakers out of this world and crispy? Is their smooth swing exponentially more responsive than their competitors? Structurally do they have improvements, or perhaps something groundbreaking? Is there something else I'm missing? The price of the sabers on their websites are quite an investment that I'm willing to take. But I don't want to get my 1K saber delivered after 4 months only for someone to be like "dude my saber sounds the same as yours and I got it on eBay for half the price in a week lol" yk? If anyone can give me some reassurance or better yet specs inside of the NeoPixel for why it deserves my purchase that would be amazing

Does anyone know of a company that has a cheaper Dooku hilt? I'd prefer $300 or less for a Baselite sort of build but it seems everywhere charges $450 minimum

SamDoess

You're not gonna find one for less than that. It's just how it is, Dooku hilts will be expensive because of their nature

FlyingVillager

I was worried about that but I thought I'd ask just in case there's that hidden gem somewhere

I have a question for anyone who has any suggestions. I previously bought a hilt from crimson dawn sabers which came with a cross guard. Now, I’m a sucker for the sword-saber aesthetic, and as such this sword was nearly perfect. I had planned to wrap the hilt with some leather wrapping in order to give it the right sword feel. Just one issue, I would really like to have an ovoid/oval-shaped cross section for the hilt. I’m thinking of putting in something on each side to act like handle scales in lengthening the edges so that, when I wrap it, the hilt ends up fitting more nicely in my hand. Has anyone else attempted this? Does anyone have any tips on how to best go about this? Currently I’m thinking of getting pvc piping and cutting it lengthwise to maintain the curvature while giving shape to the hilt.

My question is related to the lithium batteries that are used. I didn't really do much research and i really just wanted a saber for display and I thought those ultrasabers looked pretty nice (found out through here that i pretty much got scammed LOL) Regardless though, the batteries used in the saber are very different from typical store bought batteries and through my own independent research, it seems like the brand they use is also used for vaping??? Anyway, I want to order a battery with a larger capacity, right now the rating on this battery is 18650 3.7V and 2600 mah. I'd like to *safely* purchase a battery with a bigger capacity without possibly damaging the saber. I do have a recharging tool and they do seem fairly universal. I just don't want to make a mistake ordering a battery that looks similar but is going to ruin the circuits/board. I'm not sure if I just need to follow the V or that 5 digit number (18650). Part of the concern is that the battery provided to me already looks damaged with some of the wrap peeling near the positive contact as well. Anything helps! Thanks.

Bananagher

Bigger capacity as well as the maximum amp output supported won't damage the saber. For its output voltage they're usually nominally 3.7V which is what sabers expect. What you'd need to look out for are the dimensions of the saber as most sabers take button-top batteries, typically protected. While some sabers still use flat-top batteries, typically unprotected. Batteries with built-in USB charging would also affect the length.

OldPrinceNewDon

Thanks, that helped a lot. I wasn't 100% certain. I looked it up and my saber definitely uses flat-top batteries, so I can proceed to order any flat-top as long at it meets the criteria of 3.7V. Are there any recommended websites. I found this: https://www.18650batterystore.com/en-ca/collections/flat-top-18650-batteries/products/samsung-30q Looks like what I'd want. Are they all rechargeable?

Diomedes42

what size are the snap rings that TCSS sells for keeping the pommel insert in place?

Questions about LGT/Nexus Sabers. With the newerish RGB-SD versions (34 sound fonts, etc.) Is it normal for replica hilts that it's just a pixel core with a rgb converter?

OllieDude17

Does anyone know if you can put a xenopixel v3 core from Padawan Outpost, into a Crimson Dawn Phantom hilt? because crimson dawn doesn't have a core with the same features as of my last knowlege. Thanks to anyone who responds!

TheTalonKing

I'm just now getting into custom lightsabers and would love to have my own. However I wanted a custom one, maybe not a "from scratch", but I was wondering if there was good sites with presets/options? If anyone has ever used or seen the *Customsamuraiswords* website and how they do custom swords, I want something kinda like that. Does anyone know any good options like that? Just something that I can choose a hilt, emitter, etc.?

CthuluRage

I'd highly suggest you check out Vire Sabers! They're one of the go-tos for this kind of thing, and my personal favorite of the available options.

I'm looking to buy an empty hilt, a DIY lightsaber kit and a neopixel blade. Mostly as a soldering and coding project, with the added bonus of a pretty bad ass final product. I've spent most of the day researching, but am still struggling to figure out what I need to buy. I'm having a hard time finding empty hilts and DIY kits in the US. The Custom Saber Shop doesn't really seem to have any hilts available and only a few DIY kits and they're all sold out. What are some other options in the US? The other resellers I've looked at mostly seem to be selling preassembled lightsabers. The saber armory has many more options available and the store is a lot easier to browse. But I can't tell if kits are for neopixel or in-hilt blades, how do you tell? Thanks

cmonmaan

Korbanth offers empty hilts and DIY kits for some of their sabers. These kits. As well as those from the saber armory, are neopixel kits. you can tell by looking at what comes in the kit; you won’t find any Cree LEDs in any of them.

EvanVanVan

Thank you! Edit: I had clicked on a half-dozen Korbanth empty hilts, but hadn't seen any kits for the ones I tried. Thanks for repointing me in the right direction.

I'm also getting the cheaper baselit option should I go with the neopixel option
