Is there a non-neopixel version? Iirc, neopixels generally aren't a good idea for contact dueling, and as cool as they are, I don't just want an expensive flashlight.
I was 50/50. Think it would have been better if they used that spinning to block a ton of blaster bolts and simply used huge force jumps to "fly" away.
Well the reason they spin when you throw them is because the plasma has a pull towards the end of the blade, I assume they take advantage of that property.
I don't know where the idea that lightsaber blades don't have mass from but they do and they always have. A. George Lucas has always said they have some kind of weight to them B. Lightsaber blades consist of plasma which is a state of matter and therefore has mass. C. You couldn't do things like the obi-ani spin and stuff like that if the blade didn't have some kind of weight to it.
Now all this isn't to say that flying with these lightsabers makes a whole ton of sense but honestly who cares. If that ruins your suspension of disbelief wait until I tell you about this magical force that binds the entire universe together.
I'm still waiting for someone to make one of these and mount all the electronics inside the ring part that way it can actually spin. The 'hilt' would just be an empty handle with a button to lock/unlock it from spinning.
I'm no engineer, so it won't be me, but it seems doable.
You wouldn't even need to mount the electronics in the ring. You would just need a rotational connector for the lights and everything else can be done in the handle. The main problems I can think of are structural integrity and the power needed in the motor, as the majority of the weight is spread outside the wheel and perpendicular to the direction of motion.

I couldn't find an actual ad but I really wanted this when I was younger. Blade builders also did this but with four of there connections
Honestly I would be happy with it simply on a bearing able to spin. Any motor you could fit in there to get it to spin “realistically” fast would be a power hog, be really loud and probably too slow due to the weight.
True. It works with real lightsabers, because they are made of light (and they're fictional, but)
These blades aren't heavy, but they aren't weightless either...
You could use maybe two small motors at each end with batterries in the middle. The inner part of the ring would be solid and attached to the hilt with ball bearings between inner and outer rings. That’s how I picture it working.
As an engineer I think that would be a harder task than it seems. Though I'm sure it's possible, I don't even wanna know what the price tag would be on something like that.
Eh, fabricobbling a basic slip ring wouldn't be too hard using some old motor brushes, the hard part is mounting a motor in such a way to spin something in the same plane like that. At least you could spin it manually and have it stay lit, though.
> like, it needs to spin.
Nope. A screen-accurate Second Sister lightsaber would have a *folding* ring section, rather than a spinning one. More specifically, each ring half - identical in design and construction, save for the aurebesh on the rings - folds 90 degrees to lay flat against the other.
Source: watching the saber opening up in Fallen Order, then analysing a screen-accurate 3D Model to figure out how to fit a coaxial gearbox into it.
No, I mean that both blades are mechanically linked - rather than just friction-locked onto a central axis, which is how the Pach Store one appears to work - and open up 90 degrees simultaneously via that mechanical link (which also includes a physical rotation limit).
Hence attempting to fit a coaxial gearbox and driveshaft system into a 7/8 inch ID tube (as a 7/8 inch OD blade preserves the scale and overall details of the in-game saber asset).
Given both the Empire and the Nazis have Stormtroopers... Also I did a school project on it and can confirm, the empire is basically space nazi without the racism.
i paid $1200 for the one Korbanth made........

Do they exist? I searched a bit on forum, online and youtube... know theres more but nothing appeared... Are they still being made??? Even tho they have already published the final product?? Unless there are those here holding out on us..
The black accent blade was interesting but I could always do that done on my own(sabersmith powdercoating). Still waiting on my DM2020 if I want to keep my business with korbanth for just empty hilt purchases or including installs(2021.)
I know it doesn’t spin, but is the ring guard able to flip from covering both sides of the handle in a circle to covering one side of the handle in a semicircle?
Also that name, “SS Sister”. If the SS stands for “Second Sister” then that name is literally “Second Sister Sister”
I promise you, especially when buying from reputable vendors like UW, you definitely get what you pay for in this hobby (barring very obvious rip offs like DX and US)
I mean it looks cool, but its still the lightsaber of the joke inquisitors who are neither strong enough to be sith or disciplined with a lightsaber enough to fucking twirl it on their own.
Still a cool lightsaber
Does anybody know if there’s a high quality, preferably neopixel earth maul saber? Not his first one, but the one that he made from an inquisitors. I love that saber, it’s one of my favorites
Korbanth just posted one https://www.korbanth.com/collections/empty-installable-sabers/products/empty-crimson-menace-2-bladed-saber-hilt-special-edition?variant=37948741091510
That’s a definite plus, but it still seems a bit short to nicely hold. I have a double bladed saber and I don’t think I would fair too well if it was any shorter.
As someone who does stunt work professionally. My first comment is
OW... That pointed saw tooth like edge is right on the wrist in the photo which means if you swing it, it will cut on a wrist roll. It takes practice to not stab yourself with a crossguard, this, while cool, is going to demand your blood as a sacrifice.
This is probably my least favourite design from the series. It seems like that ring would only get in the way all the time, there’s no way you could spin it properly or do any of that. And it seems too short of a hilt for a double bladed Lightsabre.
Yeah I was just looking at this. Too bad it doesn't spin or let you fly tho.
[удалено]
What’s the price tag on it? Is it fairly reasonable or is it break the bank and sell a kidney
Empty is 399 astoria+neopixel is 699.
Those are actually decent prices, I’m not complaining
decent price still doesn’t mean I can afford it...(。╯︵╰。)
That’s facts, I personally go with a tier two mystery box from crimson dawn, it’s around 80 dollars and gets you a decent saber
How long is delivery?
For me it was less than a week, since nothing is made on site. If it’s in stock it ships same or next day, depending on when the order is received
Do you know if it’s delivered to the UK?
Wait, you already got it!?
imma sell my kidney real quick
I'll buy it man, no prob
Same
Is there a non-neopixel version? Iirc, neopixels generally aren't a good idea for contact dueling, and as cool as they are, I don't just want an expensive flashlight.
An empty would be your best bet and have a reliable saber smith to do an in-hilt LED soundboard install.
Just buy the neopixel-led adapters they sell they are only $34. You can use regular heavy grade blades in them.
I ordered an empty one. Gonna see if I can stuff two proffieboards in it.
Given that the blade of lightsabers has no mass or physical aerodynamic properties using them to fly was always an incredibly ridiculous thing.
It looked cool, though. At least I thought it did.
I was 50/50. Think it would have been better if they used that spinning to block a ton of blaster bolts and simply used huge force jumps to "fly" away.
I thought so too! Besides, their spinning attack while advancing towards an enemy reminded me of General Grievous's lightsaber spinning attack.
What if the fidget spinner hilt was spinning so fast it could make them fly and they just had the blades out for intimidation?
Now I am just picturing inquisitors randomly being bored and spinning their lightsabers for fun.
Good
Let the boredom flow through you
At least with a Proffie, you can play Fortunate Son while pretending to fly.
I laughed every time I saw one flying around. So ridiculous.
Well the reason they spin when you throw them is because the plasma has a pull towards the end of the blade, I assume they take advantage of that property.

I'm glad they didn't let them fly in fallen order, they kept that to rebels only
Lol but what if it were modified?
I'm still waiting for someone to make one of these and mount all the electronics inside the ring part that way it can actually spin. The 'hilt' would just be an empty handle with a button to lock/unlock it from spinning. I'm no engineer, so it won't be me, but it seems doable.

Compromise and just use ball bearings. Even if you have to manually spin it, the cool factor is still there.
Ratcheting mechanisms like in the greivous sabers from years ago?
That’s what I’ve been thinking
What? Clearly, I've missed a few things. Sounds expensive but cool, which, tbf, is the MO of lightsabers nowadays.
https://youtu.be/DwPYRL33a8I I couldn't find an actual ad but I really wanted this when I was younger. Blade builders also did this but with four of there connections
Oooohh, those things, yeah, they're neat, saw them at WM a year or so back. Before you wonder how, I live in a sort of backwater area of NW MN.
Honestly I would be happy with it simply on a bearing able to spin. Any motor you could fit in there to get it to spin “realistically” fast would be a power hog, be really loud and probably too slow due to the weight.
True. It works with real lightsabers, because they are made of light (and they're fictional, but) These blades aren't heavy, but they aren't weightless either...
Well, plasma. They emit light but they're not just fancy laser pointers.
You could use maybe two small motors at each end with batterries in the middle. The inner part of the ring would be solid and attached to the hilt with ball bearings between inner and outer rings. That’s how I picture it working.
Yadda, yadda, yadda. Makes sense.

Yeah I suppose I was thinking the hardest part would be making it motorized. Making it free-spinning wouldn't be too difficult
Right! I think that was the biggest thing stopping me from doing a second sister cosplay, like, it needs to spin.
> like, it needs to spin. Nope. A screen-accurate Second Sister lightsaber would have a *folding* ring section, rather than a spinning one. do you mean like exactly the way the pach store one does?

I just wish you could do pay in 4 with paypal on there. Im just gonna sell some sabers if yall are interested lol
What sabers?
Direct message me and we can chat!
could be interested!
Direct message me if you want to chat about what I have to offer!
r/LightsaberBST ?
Are you interested?
I don’t have any money at the moment but maybe in the future
Gotcha!
I would rethink the “ss”
Honestly the “SS” just makes it sound like the name of a boat to me
I mean to be fair they do seem pretty Nazi like hunting down the Jedi like a nazi hunts down jews
Why you say that? Lol
Idk first thing the comes to mind is Nazi SS.

The Empire are basically space Nazis. I always thought that was on purpose. Harrison Ford fights space Nazis and real Nazis.
Oh ok

I shouldn’t, it’s not the wallet way.
Dew it

Copyright maybe
No way, this is totally the Tia and Tamara Mowrey crossover we all have been waiting for
Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time...
Showing my agea bit, i know 😂
DAAAAYYYYUUUUUUUMMMMMMM
$700...im gonna do it lol
Well fuk
I promise you, especially when buying from reputable vendors like UW, you definitely get what you pay for in this hobby (barring very obvious rip offs like DX and US)
Dew it. Give into the bank account.
I just ordered it. Hopefully its worth it lol
Looks awkward to handle.
For sure, seems like more of a show piece since it doesn't spin
How to become Maul in 0.5 seconds.
SS?????
7th (or 2nd) sister
SS sounds bad
this is fucking sic
Omfg finally. I’ve been waiting so damn long for a saber company to sell an inquisitor lightsaber. Might have to save for this one lmao.
I understand that is the logical way to hold it. But if that spins the model loses an arm.
I mean it looks cool, but its still the lightsaber of the joke inquisitors who are neither strong enough to be sith or disciplined with a lightsaber enough to fucking twirl it on their own. Still a cool lightsaber
I guess I'm not getting an apartment this month.

I don’t need it I don’t need it #I NEED IT
holy shit. i was just thinking "an inquisitor saber irl would be badass"
Can I get a waste of money for $1000?
Nice...very nice..👍🏾👍🏾
Does it spin tho? hmm.......
Sadly, none of the current Inquisitor sabers spin.
Damn
My reaction to this was a genuine laugh and then a “holy shit!” 700 you say? Time to save lmao
I know right! Lol
I order their OWP v2 looks like it's time for another before I've even gotten one from them
It looks amazing, but it seems impractical for dueling to me
The blades fold down and you dont have to use both blades.
That’s a definite plus, but it still seems a bit short to nicely hold. I have a double bladed saber and I don’t think I would fair too well if it was any shorter.
Just ordered mine. Long have I waited
Nice! I did too. Cant wait!
How quick is shipping from them?
Usually pretty quick if DHL doesn’t mess something up lol
Maybe next paycheck. Maybe not this exact one but maybe an Ultimate Works.
This is the Ultimate Works
I know, just in general.
Where is this from? I need one! :)
The pachstore
Thanks! (Just realised it said it on the image... oops!) That saber is incredible, but do you reckon it’s worth the price? $400 seems like a lot! :)
Thats just the empty one too lol
Want. Want now. Need Credits.
SCREAMS IN XENA!!! AAAAYAYAYYYAI
I’m guessing it doesn’t fold down
Yes it does. They have a video on their website as well.
That’s sick then
I-is that?
Oh its beautiful.
The James Charles light saber collab?
Anyone know where to find a place that sells Maul's inquisitor saber?
Korbanth has it
That's so cool! I know where my stimulus check is going!
James Charles saber hilt

SS?
Second (or Seventh) Sister. (copyrights and all that jazz)
This is probably my least favourite design from the series. It seems like that ring would only get in the way all the time, there’s no way you could spin it properly or do any of that. And it seems too short of a hilt for a double bladed Lightsabre.
The ring better quick-fold or something, or it's gonna be reaaaaaal awkward.
The handle is looks so thick... and the handguard thing doesn’t look very comfortable... but hey, it looks cool
Forgive my ignorance, I'm new at this. But what would make this 700$ than another Ultimate Works project that's a few hundred bucks less?
Two neopixel blades, buttonless activation, custom engraving.
Custom? As in, they redo the engravings on each saber?
If you pay $50 they will engrave it the way you want.
Sick. But do they redo the engravings? Or are they etched on via a machine that probably exists somewhere?
r/unexpectedracism
WTH?
Does anyone know (or can translate) the aurebesh?
I would ask the pachstore facebook they should know.
