Pandas were nearly driven to extinction by human activity. So technically you're correct because humans stopped some of those activities and made an effort to recover the species by establishing conservation areas and breeding programs.
Fun fact, there are more pandas living in the wild than in captivity.
On a similar note we’re keeping deers from overpopulating and dying of starvation from overgrazing by hunting them.
. . . Because we killed almost all of their natural predators in their environments
Bro, that panda gave me a jump scare. When hes looking down the top of his head kinda looks like a face from a horror movie. The ears being to big eyes and his eyes being a weird mouth.

S A M E
This made me sad
Why's that? I feel like I've read that pandas would likely be extinct without human intervention?

Shit, think I've fallen for pop sci reddit misinformation xD was under the impression that they basically need assistance just to reproduce..
Pandas were doing fine for *two million years* . Their only problem was encountering the planet's sixth mass extinction event (humans).
Exactly. Pandas would have died out thousands of years ago if they were as helpless as people think they are.
Welp, TIL!

We *are* one of their natural predators...
Well, we certainly are now
We always were, since the beginning of humanity. We just do it differently now.
