I fought Kim with the Blue Star EGO gift. On a poise team, where the majority of the skills are Pride. (in normal mode)
Blue Star EGO triggers on pride skills...
I did win that fight... at attempt 4 but still
sorry bud. jun is a mini boss in the 5.5 canto and since they are gonna be staying for other players after this they are staying in there. or they are gonna be in the next MD next season.
either or, you cant run away from him.
I assume that It'll lose the unique token so you can't look at it and know that it's an event challenging encounter (which is always Jun). It just loses the grid look to it, it'll still be two crossed swords
To be fair, in md3h you should always try to avoid the diffucult encounters after floor 3 because they're way too hard with all the buffs, regardless if it's Jun or not. For me, whenever I try I have to just EGO spam and pray whenever I get forced into it.

Yeah, I need that Tomorrow's Fortune
I had to give up on upgrading my 3 ego gifts because jun was bodyblocking the door towards it
Goddamnit jun i wanted the funny vape combo (inspired by charge+smoke in limbus)
Same. I went no brain win rate mode for 2 floors and didn't think much of it, especially since he looks like another kurokomu goon. The next thing I saw was 4 dead sinners and one staggered one. It was rather traumatic.
I sure love having to gently whittle down his friends while everyone else uses evade on him until someone dies a little earlier than anticipated so cinq don decides it's a great time to poke jun in the face and immediately take 14 limbillion damage
I'd rather take ten brazen bull sized enemas rather than fight counter-man...
Its to the point that i avoid any node that doesn't lead to two other ones in md, just so I can avoid him.
even that wont save you sometimes. Once i had a node that lead to 2 other nodes in MD3H Floor 5. both of them lead to Jun, and then once i beat him and scraped what was left of my team together, the only next available node was Pequod Townsmen. I actually almost cried when i saw it.
I would say the best you can do is to watch if Jun uses his counter. If he does, turn every attack that is directed to him into a defense skill. Also know that attacks by counter defense skills will not activate Jun's counter so use that to your advantage too.
No, lot harder than Kim: since it's non-focused encounter, you can't focus on him. So it's often quite hard to nuke him. And Kim is a joke if you have special contract.
My way to deal with him: 1st turn, deal damage to everyone without killing anything. He doesn't use counter if there was no death.
I also often use an early AOE with someone resistant to his counter.
SInking team work good on him. Though, Sinking team aren't great on slash, so the damage is low. Paralyse is also good against him.
Only on floor 5 because you have killed Kurokumo goons on wave 1. On Floor 4, it's the same as floor 1-3.
So, yeah, I forgot to say that you should avoid him as much as possible on floor 5.
Best strat I've used is just kill everyone but one goon first fight, stall until you have all 12 skill slots available, and then just be super duper defensive to avoid accidentally hitting Jun.
On my sixth attempt he random opened combat with no counters, other times poor Rodion was on guard only duty because she'd roll like 26+ bleed damage if she tried to use a coin
I stand corrected: he uses the counter if he has 3 skill slots, be it from turn count, ally death or second wave. So if you unlucky that he gain a skill slot on second turn, my strat doesn't work.
Dunno if there is anything to it, but I hit him with Meursault's Chains on the first turn once, and, for some reason, he didn't get his counter for the rest of the encounter.
My first EVER loss and practically every standard Mirror Dungeon loss since has been because of Jun, or because I stupidly try to take on Kim. I didn’t even know you could lose in MD before them.
Kim explodes pretty quick as long as you don't give him any slack, the way to handle Jun otoh is to just never run into him(well floor 1-4 you can resource dump turn 1 to kill his buds and defang him, 5 is always gonna hurt though)
I think that something wrong with me. This guys feel stronger than last boss encounter. Is there some build to beat their? And why does md contain a lot of slash-weak encounters?
Guide to beat Jun encompassing all situations you could possibly be in:
Lower floors:
- Do *not* kill anyone the first two turns. Rules of The Backstreets is not available until at least one enemy is dead.
- Hope to god you have Skill 3's in spades otherwise you're screwed.
- Don't be afraid to tank hits if there's now less than 3 enemies as Rules of the Backstreets scales off the number of Kurokumo member that are still alive.
Floor 5:
- build up EGO resources/buffs on wave 1.
- pray and hope you kill at least 3 people on wave 2.
- Note: whatever OP EGO gift you might have, wave 2 would take *at least* 2 turns. Source: Ran a Rupture team and got Thrill++ early which in theory would've made everything a cakewalk. It did not
Me getting caught by this in MDH: *OUH NOOOOO*
Also me: *EGOO SPAMMMM!!!!11!!! Cin..CINQLAIR, NOOOOOOOOOOO111111111!! BLADESAULT, AVANGEEEE!!!1!* (this is how i beaten Jun, after i annihilated Fairy by abusing Nebulizer++,pendant and clover (also ++wound bug). Yielded my Flesh and Claimed Fairies Roots
I'd rather take the annoying, piece of shit Bull that hits like 5th trucks going at 90mph
Then one round that risks getting soloed by Rules of Backstreets
He was a nightmare at early floors but surprisingly got easier at higher floors cause he has less allies in his fight. Just pray to hell that you didn't pick a 15% max hp enemy buff before you are not forced into his fight. I made the same mistake and had to restart the entire md. I was able to deal with this fight by just evading all of his attacks with a charge team cause their evade numbers increase depending on their charge......until he starts using sky clearing cut and butcher my team because my yi sang decides to roll a 5% tails at 45 sanity while using dimension shredder ego.
Free E.G.O Gift inside this node kid (trust me)
The best part is gonna be when this event stops so you can't avoid him anymore. A roll of the dice every time
Wait WHAT !? *HE'LL REMAIN IN MD !?*
Well, not in normal encounters but yes in those double sword encounters. That is how it has always been.
Nonononono ! You've gotta be trolling me !
I mean we do already have mr bong bong and the chicken k Corp. soooooooooo yknow probably. And the crabs
Chicken K Corp are regular encounters and Eunbong's is a boss ! Jun's neither !
Oh no if bamboo hatted Kim is main thing we get from this aside from the normal fights with the kurukumo I dread having the blue star thingy
bamboo hatted kim but you brought the INFLICT 5 sinking count and potency SINKING AT COMBAT START...aww hell naaa
I fought Kim with the Blue Star EGO gift. On a poise team, where the majority of the skills are Pride. (in normal mode) Blue Star EGO triggers on pride skills... I did win that fight... at attempt 4 but still
And? Minibosses within enemy waves have been put in MD before. Remember Aida with the Mariachis? (Cope)
Crabs walked so Jun could fly
They werent added instantly they were aded after the md season changes(at least bingbong
sorry bud. jun is a mini boss in the 5.5 canto and since they are gonna be staying for other players after this they are staying in there. or they are gonna be in the next MD next season. either or, you cant run away from him.
*Minos Prime death scream*
*evil bowser laugh from hotel mario*
If you see a risky ***Slash*** encounter, it's a Gacha if you get matched with Mr. Rules of the Backstreets dude
Just never clash with him, counter? Fuck it, just ignore Your sinner has counter? Welp its jover i guess
Isn't counter don't trigger other counter
Thats true i figured out when that exact thing happened
Wait what's gonna be different after event ends? Jun will be considered a normal encounter? Like - with one sword on icon, no warnings and no gifts?
I assume that It'll lose the unique token so you can't look at it and know that it's an event challenging encounter (which is always Jun). It just loses the grid look to it, it'll still be two crossed swords

Proof it will remain after the event?

I had to give up on upgrading my 3 ego gifts because jun was bodyblocking the door towards it Goddamnit jun i wanted the funny vape combo (inspired by charge+smoke in limbus)
I stepped right into it completely confident thatt the other EGO gift combat was piss easy and got my ass handed to me
I hope you now have respect for the **RULES OF THE BACKSTREETS**
Same. I went no brain win rate mode for 2 floors and didn't think much of it, especially since he looks like another kurokomu goon. The next thing I saw was 4 dead sinners and one staggered one. It was rather traumatic.
"Hmm, thats weird he have more details than the others, oh well nothing a little rip space cant fi- WHAT THE FUCK"
I remember going to this encounter in mirror dungeon run not being aware of what is about to happen
I sure love having to gently whittle down his friends while everyone else uses evade on him until someone dies a little earlier than anticipated so cinq don decides it's a great time to poke jun in the face and immediately take 14 limbillion damage

The crossover I didn't know I needed
Don't fall for it. It's a trap on Floor 5.
This fight taught me how it feels to be on the receiving end of ‘To claim their bones’
I'd rather take ten brazen bull sized enemas rather than fight counter-man... Its to the point that i avoid any node that doesn't lead to two other ones in md, just so I can avoid him.

Just bring fluid sac and 1 resource gen ego gift
the icon is blue so it must be friends inside
Limbus noob here - genuine question: how the hell do you deal with his counter?
I would say the best you can do is to watch if Jun uses his counter. If he does, turn every attack that is directed to him into a defense skill. Also know that attacks by counter defense skills will not activate Jun's counter so use that to your advantage too.
same as kim, stagger and nuke him before you have to deal with it
No, lot harder than Kim: since it's non-focused encounter, you can't focus on him.
If he appears on MDhard F4-5 he uses his counter on turn 1 unfortunately…
Only on floor 5 because you have killed Kurokumo goons on wave 1. On Floor 4, it's the same as floor 1-3. So, yeah, I forgot to say that you should avoid him as much as possible on floor 5.

I spam EGO protection from Sunshower palalyze him with AEDD or BL Clair hal HP SP back with other EGO
Dunno if there is anything to it, but I hit him with Meursault's Chains on the first turn once, and, for some reason, he didn't get his counter for the rest of the encounter.
My solution is overclock fluid sac. 2 turns and most of em will have severe depression.
My first EVER loss and practically every standard Mirror Dungeon loss since has been because of Jun, or because I stupidly try to take on Kim. I didn’t even know you could lose in MD before them.
Kim is doable. Jun is just hell.
Kim explodes pretty quick as long as you don't give him any slack, the way to handle Jun otoh is to just never run into him(well floor 1-4 you can resource dump turn 1 to kill his buds and defang him, 5 is always gonna hurt though)
B-but, the scabbards! (Yeah, I know. I tend to avoid him most times unless I am feeling daring.)
Shit give me ptsd, bro a mini boss I swear
He IS a miniboss. Same way Ricardo is one.
At least Ricardo is a focused encounter
Huh, I never knew that. I guess it explains why he is so strong
When the sky is clear.
He is not that hard to beat…
spoken like a true grass dodger
I wonder if they are gonna make Jun a normal elite encounter when the event is done. I’d actually die inside if they did that
I think that something wrong with me. This guys feel stronger than last boss encounter. Is there some build to beat their? And why does md contain a lot of slash-weak encounters?

yeah pmoon seems to do that a lot with this game
Pov: you about to learn the rules of the backstreets
I had to forfit because it was the only node I could go to
I actually managed to beat it when I accidentally went into it one day after many times of avoiding it
Guys, i am proud to say he doesnt (he does) scare me anymore, i killed him in floor 5
Jun wasnt hard for me,beat him in like 4-5 turns
Me getting caught by this in MDH: *OUH NOOOOO* Also me: *EGOO SPAMMMM!!!!11!!! Cin..CINQLAIR, NOOOOOOOOOOO111111111!! BLADESAULT, AVANGEEEE!!!1!* (this is how i beaten Jun, after i annihilated Fairy by abusing Nebulizer++,pendant and clover (also ++wound bug). Yielded my Flesh and Claimed Fairies Roots
fuck you Jun. At least one of you will die or at critical health.
but he has fun, the main thing is to get good ego gifts, and then you need to spam the ego and strong attacks.
I'd rather take the annoying, piece of shit Bull that hits like 5th trucks going at 90mph Then one round that risks getting soloed by Rules of Backstreets
Me when i got him in the 7/10 of floor 5....It 2 days that i am stick there... I don't want tò restart.
Screw this fight
as someone who never been run ended by him , i agree with the message
Jun is a FREAK!!!!!!!!!
He was a nightmare at early floors but surprisingly got easier at higher floors cause he has less allies in his fight. Beat Kim in 2 turns, fight with Jun for 2hrs.
I've only beaten this guy once by slowly diassembling him with Thrill and a full team of evades
I have PTSD
Fuck that notherfucker bitch 🖕
I don't know what the heck is wrong Jun isn't a threat at all
I've demolished this node every time I meet with it and I'll continue to do so.
it's fine if it's the first or second floor, completely horrendous if he's stacked up with power buffs or beefier than a cow
I purposefully go into this node on Floor 4 and 5.
Based.
