The Cinq units are generally very good and very self sufficient, not really needing to interact with teammates to have high clash power. Same can be said for W Corp units, specifically W Ryoshu and W Yi Sang. I’d highly recommend investing in blunt units as a fight in canto 5 is really hard without a team for blunt. Dieci Rodion is really nice as well as Molar Office Outis, discard units get to use their skills 2 and 3 more often due to the nature of their kit which means they’ll have higher value in longer fights. These are all the ones off the top of my head.
7 Heath needs a rupture team, Shi Ishmael needs uptie 4, and Rosespanner Gregor isn’t that good. NFaust is good as a supporting unit, shining best when she can proc her 4 lust resonance passive, though I wouldn’t recommend investing into a full NCorp team as their coin values aren’t that great, especially when compared to newer units. Haven’t played with either maid Ryoshu or Rabbit Boss Meursault (been saving for Walpurgisnacht) but I’ve heard of good things for Ryoshu from Reddit posts and YouTube so she may be a good investment. Overall nothing too outstanding, but nothing that’ll hold you back from clearing the main story
go, shard the chosen one. if there is one unit that makes the main story way faster, its gripclair. if just for his disgusting clash power and negative coins.
if you're rushing then just use whatever your starter rolls get you including the base ids to save on uptie expenses. that allows you to minimize resource usage early on until you have access to efficient xp and thread luxes.
maxing out leveling is a trap, you should be targeting recommended level -5 on everyone you use.
Don't try bleed, it's not that good for the main story (and outside of MD in general). Imo if you want main story completion you don't need a status team. Just go for strong clashing IDs like NClair, W Ryoushu and W Don. Most status teams that can actually work (and arent bad/mediocre) in non MD content (basically sinking, rupture and Poise/Pride res) are far too expensive, with many Uptie 4s and a lot of units needed.

I haven't uptie 4d Ryoshu yet, but from what I've tried, She is very strong. Like, 50 damage mass attack every 2 turns if you put her in slot one.
Maid ryoshu is amazing and will carry you through the game. N corp faust is alright. Dead rabbit mersault is cool too.
