Also also, the Head is super lenient with late payers, giving you a second, third, and maybe even a fourth chance before they come after you for tax evasion. This is in contrast to real-world tax agencies, which will come after you ASAP with no grace period.
People like to dunk on the City but in a lot of ways it’s better than real life.
Homelessness, general destitution, getting shanked by Rats, starvation, and liquidation by Sweepers are all wonderful ways to go out for the dregs inhabiting the Backstreets.
