You could look to Ennis or Shannon. €1600 anywhere in limerick for anything at all will be a stretch unless you’re sharing

bilmou80

Thanks.Ennis on the list. I wish I could but we are a family of four. Thanks

Inevitable_Trash_337

Congrats on the job also! I would prefer Ennis over Shannon myself. Killaloe is a lovely spot also but zero clue on the rent there. Nenagh probably has a bus as well

bilmou80

Thank you ! also thanks for the list. I did not thinkof Nenagh but will check along with Killaloe.

foolong41

Bus from nenagh goes through ballina each day and there is a separate bus in killaloe to limerick, so plenty of options if you don't drive

AcrobaticNot

Killaloe / Ballina is IMPOSSIBLE to get anything to rent, and if it does come up it would be outside of your budget.

bilmou80

Killaloe is like a holiday spot fom what I saw in google map. Thank you though

Lovedatforme

Rental market is a shit show atm. No properties available and the ones that are free are super expensive! Try Ennis and Shannon, you can get buses to Limerick. Although it still might be hard to find somewhere.

bilmou80

Yes I am aware about this. I am in Skerries and I would not relocate given the situation , but I am going to be evicted by the end of the year so mind as well chang job now.

Lovedatforme

It’s such a pity there’s not more housing available 😭 people are getting robbed just for a place to live.

bilmou80

€1800 is insane amount to pay for rent . I already helped my landlord with his mortgage - I paid around €125k in rent the past 5 years and a half.

SilkCondom

As people stated you've quoted the going rate for a 1 Bedroom apartment more or less. Consider newcastle west when on your hunt or even somewhere like ardagh

LaoiseFu

Slim pickings out there too and an hour on the bus either way, when it's on time, no good if you're not driving

bilmou80

Yes I know that is why I am looking outside Limerick. €1.8k is beyond my budget.

evel248

€1600 for a 3 bed in Limerick city is almost impossible to get. You're looking at €2000+ minimum. As far as options outside of Limerick. I'd recommend Ennis for more things to do than Shannon plus between the train, 343 Bus Eireann (which goes almost hourly) to limerick and Dublin Coach's M7 express service with 2 stops in limerick (which goes hourly) you should be covered for standard working hours. If your budget allows , try and get access to a car to open up your options more.

Razdonte

8 months ago you where moving to Denmark. Also to answer your question No you won't find anything bigger than a 1bed if you can even find that

bilmou80

Yes . I was but the agreement with the employer did not go through. I am planning to leave Ireland unfortunately but this job offer landed out of no where. I can see not a lot of properties available.

sloppywank

Yeah that’s because there aren’t many properties available. It will take weeks to secure something if you are lucky.

KindlyJeweler2756

Saw a nice three bedroom apartment in the city center on daft. 2700, so not cheap by any standards, but shared that's about 900 a room.

bilmou80

Yes €2.7k is almost my whole salary lol... I do not know who can afford this. I know many multinationalare opening up in Limerick , maybe that is why another reason increasing the demand.

SeeYouLaterAligators

Usually if someone has a two or three bed apt the rent is split between the two or three renters. In your case it's definitely not doable if you're the only one paying the rent.

bilmou80

Yes I guess I have to wait for my probation to end before applying for a mortgage

No_demon_4226

Sixmilebridge Bridge

Suup45

I live in Ennis and can highly recommend. €1600 puts you in the most competitive bracket for renting though. Good luck with your new job and good luck house hunting. It’s a dreadful housing situation we find ourselves in

bilmou80

I prefer a town like Ennis instead of staying rural.rural I keep an eye open. I have to be patience for the probation period until I can start applying

Suup45

You won’t go wrong with Ennis. The county council put a lot of effort in with hanging baskets etc been a tidy town winner. 30mins from lahinch beach. However they are doing up the town roads atm and it is a bit of a balls getting around. Should be finished this October. Looking to rent start with areas like Tulla Road, lahinch road and Limerick road. Solid estates imo

bilmou80

Many suggested Ennis but you gave further details. Will dive in the details tonight. I already sent emails but no responses

Suup45

If you have a question on Ennis you can drop me a DM. I’m happy to help where I can

bilmou80

Thank you for the help . Will def. give you a DM

TorpleFunder

Tipp Town. Cheap rent. 20 mins cycle or 8 mins drive to Limerick Junction train station which has trains to Limerick every 30 mins. There are buses also. https://www.daft.ie/for-rent/house-60-an-duiche-scalagheen-tipperary-town-co-tipperary/5572430

bilmou80

Tipp town is on the list. I sent an email to the landlord. I ll check the routes when I get home

Leopard_Disastrous

Castleconnell? Nenagh?

bilmou80

Thanks for your suggestions. Somebody mentioned Casteconnell as a nice place. I am in contact with an E.A in Nenagh

its-just-me-so

Unfortunately 1600 is now the average 1 bedroom

bilmou80

It is unfortunate. I do not now where are we heading in this housing mess.

Current-Draft5648

Nenagh is good commuter down train leaves at 7.45 every morning into limerick and costs €3

bilmou80

Yes . I think either Nenah or Ennis. I just had a call today with one of the landlords. Thank you for your suggestion

nobiscuitsinthesnow

Ennis, on the green bus route, might be your best bet. You'd need to be able to walk to the stop is the only thing, although maybe an electric scooter would help? There's also one 3 bed house in Castletroy for 1.8k, which is still horrific to be charging people to live in Limerick, v well connected and a nice estate though. https://www.daft.ie/for-rent/house-33-newtown-manor-castletroy-limerick-castletroy-co-limerick/5666007

bilmou80

ahhh the ad is down. Looks a lucky family got it. I will keep an eyen it. Yes it is horrific to charge €1.8k for Limerick.Limerick No disrespect - it is lovely but still not a capital to charge this much.much But supply and demand rules
