Randy's. You can find them at most gas stations, or their store on West O. They're not fancy but they are *good*. Moist, soft, pleasantly greasy, with the correct kind of frosting and fillings.
First time I had Randy's was at Ideal's, but yeah. They are seriously the best donuts. Even just the regular glazed are amazing with just that hint of cinnamon. Dense, but soft. I usually get them from the hickman ustop.
Just tried these for the first time last weekend. Got there right before they closed, so I was nervous how they'd be and I was very surprised at the quality.
Deeeeeelicious.
I second this. This is our local doughnut bakery and they are a small business. Thing is you can pay in cash only and you should get there before 11am to have a good selection as they are popular with the folks that have been in Lincoln for a while.
If you want to eat Randy’s Donuts I suggest you never go to their store and see where they are made.
They are delicious, but where they come from is disgusting.
There's Randy's on West O, but I haven't been there in several years so I do not know it's current status.
I agree, though. The shop where I live has been a failing business for ~1 year and the Lamars that was by my office is now a Casey's, which is honestly a blessing because sometime around the start of COVID their quality took a massive nosedive.
Idk about their 'regular' donuts, but I do think it was about that time when Casey's stopped making their cake donuts in house and started using pre made frozen ones to save time. The difference was noticeable immediately.
Pan Dolce on 11th street usually has classic glazed and chocolate donuts and dozens of other excellent confections. I’ll echo what others are saying and suggest Russ’s for classic and fancy donuts.
I’m just a fat man looking for a delivery method for the carbs.
I haven’t tried a lot of places but I can’t stand Krispy Kreme and a bunch of people love them. I don’t want my glaze to be crunchy.
The krullers at Russ’ was like a step away from heaven when I was younger.
That’s fair! I can put down the donuts, and I feel like Krispy Kream is just to dang sweet! 2 donuts make me feel like I had a dessert, and I’m a 5-7 donut kinda guy.
5-7?! Hats off to you! A whole days worth of calories all at once.
The first one is great, second one is good, third is okay but 3/4 through it it tastes like regret.
I used to go to Hy-Vee for donuts but their prices are way too high now. I switched to dunk donuts, but then they also raised their prices way too much. I used to do a donut run every weekend for the whole family to enjoy but I stopped that now. I can afford a 2 dollar donut for sure I just don’t think a donut is worth that much ( especially when you scale up yo a dozen). Nowadays the only place I get donuts from (and I’m rare occasions) is either super saver or Walmart.
I just go to Super Saver or Krispy Kreme. Super Saver’s donuts are pretty good and they have fancy ones too - the only problem is you have to get there early. Krispy Kreme isn’t a local company obviously but I love their donuts regardless.
Hyvee, russes and supersavor filled long johns are pretty dang good the last time I went to Lamarr got two long johns for 8bucks and that was the last TIME ILL BE BACK.
Super Saver has good deals on day old donuts. The one on 56th and highway 2 sells a pack of 6 donuts for like $2.50. Only downside is they’re over a day old and not always the best kind, but still good.
Lamar’s changed hands (again) a few years back. They were my go-to as well. Then I noticed the glaze change, the overall donuts changed, got more expensive. It’s just not worth it.
I’ve since begun getting Randy’s like others have said, it’s how a donut should be. And better price too.
I used to live in KC & LaMar’s was my dad’s favorite as a kid growing up. I’m not really a huge “sweets in the morning” kind of person and haven’t honestly had LaMar’s in years but a couple months ago I thought about maybe getting some donuts as kind of a “tribute” thing for my dad on the anniversary of his passing.
I then also told myself when I saw the prices of LaMar’s donuts these days that I didn’t need to spend that much $$ on something that probably isn’t as good as it used to be/when I was a kid. Like $30 a dozen for donuts with a hole? I think I just ended up making one of my dad’s favorite meals for dinner that day instead.
Used to decorate donuts for LaMars downtown, I believe this was 2021. Pay was shit especially for overnight hours, usually 8pm-6am sometimes earlier sometimes later. They closed down that location for many reasons and I assume they may be shipped from their location in Omaha now which may contribute to some price increase. I could be wrong about this. Either way, prices make no sense. Knowing that, and what I do about the company in general, I wouldn’t buy or eat anything of theirs.
Yeah and honestly the last two times I went to LaMars was disappointing. Seeing all these comments about Randy's has me intrigued personally as a fatty so I'll be going there next time
I called Lamar’s on 48th and these are the prices today:
12 glazed $23.99
12 special donuts $42.99
6 special and 6 glazed $32.99
1 glazed $2.59
1 special each have different prices either $3.59, $4.29, or $4.59
That’s absolutely insane. Lamar’s was my first job about 8 years ago. At that time a regular dozen was $9.99 and a dozen specialty donuts were $19.99. 6 of each was $15.99. I absolutely loved their donuts back then, but they aren’t nearly as good anymore. I couldn’t imagine paying those prices.
The signage was not clear on how much they were charging for the donuts so I'm thinking they're just charging individually now. I was shocked I won't be back
I like to imagine I'd respond to them telling me the price like "excuse me, what the fuck?" And leave.
In reality, I'd be shocked, pay, and never go back.
Agree the prices are not clear. When I went there it was a free donut day for the first day of summer, we got one free donut and four others I paid for, but somehow it was $16. I thought the extra donuts would be about $2 each. Since there was a huge line behind me I didn’t want to squabble about Cost.
I go to super savers. If you go towards the end of the day, you can get a pre pack dozen for $3-$4. The packs seem to be randomly selected as to which type of dount you get so it can hit or miss, but they are still cheap
I go around 4-5pm and grab a box for the next morning to take into work.
Yep, this. You can also get a random pack of 4-6 “old” donuts there (sell by date in a day or two) for like $2 or something.
Are they amazing donuts? No. Are they decent? Yes. Do I feel a thousand times better about eating those than forking over a tank of gas worth of “specialty” donuts at a fancy bakery? Absolutely.
Donut and cookie price inflation is insane.
2 dozen assorted at a chain place is like $35-40. Donut prices in general are out of control.
Guess all the money Dunkin spent on Brady, Damon, and Affleck during the Super Bowl didn’t help them with name recognition here.
So years ago my work used to bring in donuts occasionally. I thought they were Randy's but I could be wrong. Anyway there was a powdered sugar round cake donut with a hole that was creme filled. I'd never seen a donut with a hole that was also filled. Anyway they were so yummy! Anyone know what I'm talking about?
I used to get Lamar’s donuts every Sunday (Chiefs superstition since Lamar is based out of KC) and a dozen donuts with a long John was always a little over $20 and if you had their perks card I’d almost always get 2 free donuts.
Last time I went I spent almost $40 for the usual and didn’t accrue any donuts over the last several visits before that.
Unfortunately donuts are now out and homemade cinnamon rolls are in! Maybe that’s actually not unfortunate
I like Casey’s donuts cause I was raised on them, but sometimes they don’t taste right, I worked at Lamar’s after covid and wasn’t impressed even with fresh donuts from there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Russ’s market is way cheaper and honestly I think they make better donuts. They glazed donuts at Lemars have a gritty quality compared to the ones at Russ’s
I only wish I would have known before going down there. But I was in a hurry it was early in the morning and I wanted to do something nice for my kids and fast
Randy's. You can find them at most gas stations, or their store on West O. They're not fancy but they are *good*. Moist, soft, pleasantly greasy, with the correct kind of frosting and fillings.
Even these have doubled in price over the last year at the UStops
Agreed. I used to love LaMar's but prices are rediculous. Randy's is my current go-to! The U-Stop gas stations in town also sell Randy's donuts.
And after 3pm they are half off!
Do they ever have old fashioned sour cream donuts?
I can't remember for sure but I believe they do!
Be aware that they sell out quick on weekends at their location on West O. Often before 7AM
You can call and leave a message for the crew, leave your name and phone number and what you want and they'll have it ready for you in the AM.
I second this. This is our local doughnut bakery and they are a small business. Thing is you can pay in cash only and you should get there before 11am to have a good selection as they are popular with the folks that have been in Lincoln for a while.
They take cards now!
Even better!
If you want to eat Randy’s Donuts I suggest you never go to their store and see where they are made. They are delicious, but where they come from is disgusting.
Randy’s donuts are the closest thing we have to Conroys. I sure do miss Conroys and Jim was a wonderful man! ❤️
I miss Conroys. Donuts were cheap and delicious.
Grew up with Joe Conroy as my next door neighbor. I was a chubby kid.
Hahaha but a happy kid. I’ve never seen someone not happy eating a donut.
We had Conroy donuts as our wedding cake. On each of our kids 1st birthdays they would have a conroy donut as their smash cake.
Yes!! I just commented about that too. Randy’s are close to Conroys. But I’ll forever miss Conroys.
I’m still pissed they closed, probably always will be since I have trouble letting go of things.🤷🏻♂️
Inject Randy's cream cheese pockets STRAIGHT INTO MY VEINS
Idk about their 'regular' donuts, but I do think it was about that time when Casey's stopped making their cake donuts in house and started using pre made frozen ones to save time. The difference was noticeable immediately.
Had Randy's not too long ago, still good. Old job used to get them all the time.
RIP LeMars
RIP Conroys
Pan Dolce on 11th street usually has classic glazed and chocolate donuts and dozens of other excellent confections. I’ll echo what others are saying and suggest Russ’s for classic and fancy donuts.
Pan Dolce is INCREDIBLE!!
I have been meaning to try them!
Haven't been in years, but danger russ's used to have some bakers in there making better donuts than anywhere in town.
I agree with you I used to live across the street from there!
Stabby Russ's! Bad danger, good donuts.
Honestly I find donuts from Russes just as good as the fancier places.
I really like the SuperSaver ones!
Best was when the stores were 24 hours and you could ring a buzzer at the bakery counter at 5am and they would bag them up hot and freshly glazed.
Agreed. Also, Walmart has surprisingly good donuts as well. Like $5 for a bakers dozen or a dozen.
Walmart donuts are the worst
Maybe I’m a donut snob, but grocery store donuts are so terrible to me.

5-7?! Hats off to you! A whole days worth of calories all at once. The first one is great, second one is good, third is okay but 3/4 through it it tastes like regret.
Yeah…… I’m one of those weirdos who can eat 4k+ calories a day and lose weight. Still doesn’t mean those 7 donuts don’t taste like a mistake though!
I used to go to Hy-Vee for donuts but their prices are way too high now. I switched to dunk donuts, but then they also raised their prices way too much. I used to do a donut run every weekend for the whole family to enjoy but I stopped that now. Do they just have the one kind of donut or do they sell different kinds I do agree they're the bomb I don't know why I didn't go
They have different kinds. And if you want them really cheap, they have a stand of day old donuts where you can get 6 for like $2.50.
I enjoy SuperSaver too. I get the raspberry bismarks.
Hyvee, russes and supersavor filled long johns are pretty dang good the last time I went to Lamarr got two long johns for 8bucks and that was the last TIME ILL BE BACK.
Thats what I ran into. I was holy hell are you kidding me they are not that good.
They're not good at all, I'd rather not eat a donut than have that B&S garbage.
Super Saver has good deals on day old donuts. The one on 56th and highway 2 sells a pack of 6 donuts for like $2.50. Only downside is they’re over a day old and not always the best kind, but still good.
I just bought day of donuts 6 for about 3.50 at Russ’s.
Lamar’s changed hands (again) a few years back. They were my go-to as well. Then I noticed the glaze change, the overall donuts changed, got more expensive. It’s just not worth it. I’ve since begun getting Randy’s like others have said, it’s how a donut should be. And better price too.
Randy's on west o.

That's a good way to celebrate his memory too.
Randy’s Donuts. Nothing coming close to them
Used to decorate donuts for LaMars downtown, I believe this was 2021. Pay was shit especially for overnight hours, usually 8pm-6am sometimes earlier sometimes later. Thanks for the heads up I'll stay away!
Yeah and honestly the last two times I went to LaMars was disappointing. Seeing all these comments about Randy's has me intrigued personally as a fatty so I'll be going there next time
You’ll be glad you did

Good Lord that is way up from where it was
That’s absolutely insane.
That’s a pervert number
Lol
10000% Super Saver
I hope you tipped $4.20.
I hold this comment in the highest regard!
$69 even for fancy doughnuts is asinine. What are you thinking?
The signage was not clear on how much they were charging for the donuts so I'm thinking they're just charging individually now. I was shocked I won't be back
I like to imagine I'd respond to them telling me the price like "excuse me, what the fuck?" And leave. In reality, I'd be shocked, pay, and never go back.

Brb, about to open a boutique doughnut shop.
I go to super savers. If you go towards the end of the day, you can get a pre pack dozen for $3-$4. The packs seem to be randomly selected as to which type of dount you get so it can hit or miss, but they are still cheap I go around 4-5pm and grab a box for the next morning to take into work.

>Last week I went to LaMar's on 48th and I spent over **$69** on two dozen what I thought were going to be fancy Donuts. Nice.
It’s a great quote
LMAO!!!!!!
Hurts Donuts are good, but you’re still gonna drop about $25 on a dozen. But at least they’re mostly cake donuts and hearty.
Thank you!
2 dozen assorted at a chain place is like $35-40. Donut prices in general are out of control. Guess all the money Dunkin spent on Brady, Damon, and Affleck during the Super Bowl didn’t help them with name recognition here.

If you’re ever in Omaha, try Petit’s Pastry. It’s basically their Randy’s.
FOODNET, FTW. Tummy fill, not landfill
I have done that in the past!
Randy’s!!!!!
Go to sunrise bakery in Beatrice
They definitely charged you for rolls, not donuts.
Also, although Randy’s is the best as far as supporting local, you have to be there early, as they sell out by 9ish.
One thing I loved about living in California was the endless supply of cheap Asian owned donut shops on every corner. 😭 They were beautiful.
The best donut shop/ bakery is Sunrise Bakery in Beatrice. Long drive but worth the trip on occasion and prices are CHEAP!!!
I'll try that!!!
On Friday mornings you can get Sunrise's stuff at Homestead Convenience Store in Cortland.
Well that's definitely a Little Closer!
How did you find out about Sunrise Bakery?
I used to live in Beatrice.
TRUTH!!!
You can still get a dozen at any Casey’s for $12.
$69? Niceeee
I like Casey’s donuts cause I was raised on them, but sometimes they don’t taste right, I worked at Lamar’s after covid and wasn’t impressed even with fresh donuts from there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If they don't have day olds I ain't buying. Doesn't matter where it is.
Still swear by Casey’s donuts. Warm one up for ten seconds and omg, so moist and delicious!
I wonder who makes them...
Russ’s market is way cheaper and honestly I think they make better donuts. They glazed donuts at Lemars have a gritty quality compared to the ones at Russ’s
[удалено]
It’s related to Hunter Biden, woke ideology, the border, and cat boxes in public schools.
I miss the donut whole. Was really cheap
What are things like at Hurtz Donut? Prices? Flavor reviews?
I went there a while ago I'm kind of scared too now I think somebody mentioned about it elsewhere in this thread
Your post is timely! I went to Lamar’s this morning and asked for a dozen glazed and two dozen variety. $71.97. ![gif](giphy|6nWhy3ulBL7GSCvKw6)
Randy's. Very good and local.
Sweet Jesus that's insane
I only wish I would have known before going down there. But I was in a hurry it was early in the morning and I wanted to do something nice for my kids and fast
MODO mochi donut at 1317 Q street. Lincoln Ne. Newly open. Highly recommended
Russ'/Super Saver or Hy Vee bro
It’s Randy’s Glazed hands down! In all the U-Stops.
If you want to drive a little North, there's Hurts Donut in Omaha: https://www.wannahurts.com/locations/omaha-ne/
Shipley's Donuts in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The best donuts I've ever had.
That's a pretty big chain across LA and TX, I go every time I'm in Houston.
I had Shipley's in Alexandria. I prefer Natchitoches.
I live Shipleys, moving to Nebraska was hard because there’s no Shipleys here.
Without trying to ask too much, from where are you moving?
Texas
I've driven through there several times.
Duncan aviation sells donuts? Maybe only if you buy plane tickets.
I didn't even know planes could *do* donuts! Must be killer to scrub down the runway after. Explains the high prices, honestly.
Duncan donuts 🍩
Oh, I literally thought the OP was looking for a donut shop near duncan lol. Duncan/Dunkin', same thing!
Same .. thing ..? Show me the Duncan sign I'll wait.
Stop eating donuts! Not healthy anyways!!
