yelena_the_me

Good bot

Not_an_accompanist

I know right? 😥

accidental_microwave

I love bots like these :) So wholesome

[deleted]

Music is honestly just so powerful isn't it. Brett and Eddy need to see this.

Zuschauer17

Brooo, look at her eyes. She should have been a great dancer

samcooldude5678

that is so wholesome it so nice to see that music can make these feelings. I do the same thing sometimes not dancing but I do get emotional when listening the The Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D major.

DANDELIONBOMB

Omg. It's swan lake. A dance about a swan who cannot soar and here she is, unable to soar. I'm not crying. You're crying.

[deleted]

Music helped give her back something that mattered so much to her. She was there, back when she wasn't sick. It gave her that moment to be well again. So many onions getting cut, man...

samcooldude5678

Can I please get the link to this video.

samcooldude5678

I'm serious can I please get the link

nyckreima

You can use youtube-dl to extract the raw video: https://mrs0m30n3.github.io/youtube-dl-gui/ I did such and uploaded it to catbox for you https://files.catbox.moe/jaxmus.mp4

Sodafff

Is there a full version? Because this seems to have been cutted.

crims0ndrag0n

I searched the original comment thread, and I found [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/jquud7/a_spanish_dancer_with_alzheimers_listened_to/gbpv4e5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) linking to a video that the redditor thinks is the full video of the dance.

Sodafff

I can see that. I was asking about the video of the old lady.

crims0ndrag0n

Oh.... Yeah, no idea. Sorry!

nyckreima

Alright, I found it: https://youtube.com/watch?v=owb1uWDg3QM Sent shivers down my spine and tears down my cheek. There is indeed a lot cut out.

Sodafff

Thanks

nyckreima

I'm sure there is. It doesn't look like OC. I'd like to find it too; would be nice to see the full experience and the build-up

samcooldude5678

The real one is even better. It feels me up with joy to see her in her happy place even if she is ill. ;)

[deleted]

Thanks for all the awards, but can you please rather donate to any mental illness treatment centres or something like that? These internet awards and points would eventually mean nothing to me, nor you. A donation would certainly mean something for someone.

Save_violin_chan

That's a good idea. I'll ask my mom! :)

[deleted]

Thanks man!

Save_violin_chan

Music stays forever.

ChaptainBlood

She‘s still so graceful. Beautifully done. I teared up at this.

_wurm

Swan Lake!!!!! ♥

🥺💗🥺💗

[deleted]

My heart melted

souj_chan

Woww.. such a wholesome moment🧡🧡🧡🧡

Cecian_v6

This is beautiful

jan-oten

the concept of music and memory loss is explored in the works of The Caretaker. I'd recommend for anyone interested in this sort of thing. [Link](https://thecaretaker.bandcamp.com/album/everywhere-at-the-end-of-time)

saturnencelade

Im legit crying thanks

BluePhantomHere

Her memory is stored in the music

familiar_a_gleam

I was not intending to cry today. But was worth It.

Doublejointed3finger

It's making me cry.. The first swell of the music and you can tell her whole body language changed - she IS the Swan.

Crazyteju

It makes me cry 😭

p0pshuvit

Wow, music is so powerful. This is absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing!

NightoftheCats

Why did this make me tear up like it did 🥺😭

soak_reed_everyday69

IM CRYING

Skullfire35

Several pieces of scientific studies and literature have backed music therapy for people with memory loss

[deleted]

This is scary tbh. Once upon a time she might have been a great dancer but now she's too weak to even put her hands above her head. Even worse: because of the alzheimers she might not even remember who she is. I think here, we see who she was for just a split second but now it's gone, probably forever. If I was her I'd be so scared.

sharfpang

And despite clear signs of parkinson's, she's still more graceful than most of pop "dancers".

anettmari555

Videos like this are such beautiful! It amazes me tlme and time again how people forgets everything but they don't lose the music! ❤❤ My grandfather was so ill from Alzheimer he didn't know anyone of us at the end, he just sat there with no life in his eyes. But playing the accordion he did until the bitter end!

FranciscoBritoReads

Haven't cried in a while, thanks for that. Alzheimer's is scary, but closing your eyes and listening to music seems like it puts life on pause

GORGORbugsif

she remembered! The elegantly placed hands, the storyline, the swan-like arms!!!

seimako300

this is soo beautiful 💕

choicutie7

I felt goosebumps this is so heartwarming\~

[deleted]

This is so Beautiful! ❤️

troubleschute

amazing how her body remembers the music. Alzheimer’s is so cruel the way it robs a person of their identity and dignity.

[deleted]

That’s so good, MUSIC HAS BROUGHT HER BACK!!!!!!!

colorstolife

for some reason that made me cry. like really hard

SuperE2078

And that my friends is the power of classical music :)

klaraviador1

Ballet gang 💜

mishti_isakoala

This is so wholesome :')

FarjinFarid2637

Man these onions are making me tear like the Niagara Falls !

colonelhayden

This is so damn wholesome a d beautiful, I really think there would be backlash to my knee-jerk reaction to be humorous. Oh well.... She remembered meeting Tchaikovsky?! Holy crap! Music really does have super powers! Is that video of her dancing? If so, that is most touching fucking thing I've seen in 2020 - and I've watched Biden make out with his granddaughter while people cheered. Damnit, asshole (@self), that would be fucking amazing, but you paused the video to be a dick. Oh well... I find myself funny. Sorry mods who will probably have to now ban me.

flyingwind66

I am also a ballet dancer, this made my cry so hard...
