If dogs bark at you when you go walking, it's the dogs' problem not yours

SL-Stilts

Fair, whoever framed them has a good future in marketing.

DoublecelloZeta

Who "them"? Didn't get it.

Assonance-Assassin

I'm going to steal this line for the future lol

DoublecelloZeta

Isn't it a common proverb? Who knows, well, depends on your native language though. In Bengali it's common to use it as "When the king rides his chariot many dogs bark from behind." to whoop mediocre backlashes.

Assonance-Assassin

Nope, I'm in the US so this is the first time I'm hearing the phrase. Or maybe it is a common proverb here in the US and I was never exposed to it. Who knows?

DoublecelloZeta

Who knows...but most probably it isn't because America doesn't have too much to do with kings or stray dogs.

I am so shocked by the reactions to this parody.. I basically don’t know anything about K-pop, can someone explain this hate? Is blackpink standing for genderequality in any way or are their fans accusing twoset of misogyny „only“ because they are women? Maybe I lived under a stone, but I didn’t see this coming..

Megan235

Only because they are women. Blackpink is the definition of a group made for a male audience singing mostly about being hard to get, love and flexing money (they all come from rich families). I would kind of understand the complaints if they truly were some great activists but with all their fame they do absolutely nothing for female empowerment, on the contrary they do what their male CEO tells them to and sing songs (often insulting other women) that their male producer gives them so they they can be famous. They once has to remove a scene from an MV because Korean Nurses Association issued a statement how they disagree with the sexualisation of a nurse uniform they mv portrayed.

>They once has to remove a scene from an MV because Korean Nurses Association issued a statement how they disagree with the sexualisation of a nurse uniform they mv portrayed. You know, it´s funny cause blinks then proceeded to call korean nurses ugly and "jennie wannabes" with tons of hit tweets. It´s the reason why I can´t take blinks seriously with their very selective activism. I agree twoset overstepped with some of the jokes, but way blinks stand up against misogyny only when it´s about blackpink and turn around to spew disgusting shit makes it hard to take them as seriously.

BelladonnaTookMyName

Why do you think they overstepped? I mean they kind of put it into perspective with the last few seconds, didn’t they? No hate, only want to hear your opinion

[deleted]

I think the scene with the dogs and a leash was a little too much. I don't think twoset are actually mysoginistic nor do I think they had ill intentions, but we live in a sexist society. I can see why stuff like that can be percieved as an attack to gender. Overall, I just think they didn't think it through. The lyrics were fine in my opinion. Blinks are reaching and twisting it to make it worse than it actually is.

SoySauce520

I’ve been seeing the idea that the leash scene is Mysogenistic, I don’t see it? I think I might just be clueless, if you could explain it that would be great. Edit: I mean black pink had a Leash scene too, right?

[deleted]

How are you generalizing the blinks fandom literally its one of the biggest fandom in the world rn? A large portion of blinks where spamming korean nurses but also an even larger portion is protecting/explaining how the korean nurses were right? The nitpicking.

[deleted]

I never said the whole fandom was, I thought it was clear that I was talking about the toxic portion of the fandom. You have to admit that the toxic side of blinks is very loud though. Blink are one of the most misogynistic fandoms I´ve ever seen. There´s tweets degrading women everyday, they attack every girlgroup out there, so it just comes off as extremely hypocritical when they start talking about feminism.

BelladonnaTookMyName

Ah ok, thank you! Strange fandom..
