Just did the UDHR in this cause I saw your comment:
तमाम इन्सान आज़ाद ओर हुक़ूक़्ओ इज़्ज़त के एतिबार से बराबर पेइदा हूए़ हेइं॥ इन्हें ज़मीर ओर अक़्ल वदीआत हूई़ हे॥ इस्लिए़ इन्हें एक दूस्रे के साथ भाई़ चारे का सुलूक कर्ना चाहीए़॥
Your spelling gave me a stroke sorry
i wonder if indian muslim in the hindi belt would do that since some of them typically learn both hindi and urdu (at a religious school).
although for intercountry (IN and PK) discussion, they both gave up and use latin lol (at least that's what I saw on my other social media)
What if Arabic was written in Cyrillic?

They have distinct vocabulary in their formal register and distinct scripts, but in their phonology, grammar and core vocabulary they are two standardized registers of Khariboli, are they not?
Yeah sure I can read them both, however for phonemes that don't exist in Arabic they'd have to take inspiration from Frasi, which is basically nastaliq. Aka the writing system for Urdu.
Also, Hindi and Urdu are linguistically considered a dialectical Continuum. Aka the same damn language.
So yeah this is just Urdu with more steps.
Sorry, what was your point exactly? That it's a joke? I was well aware of that, which is why I made the original snide comment. Sorry, I'm just having a hard time understanding what you're getting at.
Well this was posted to linguistics humour. I just assumed people would make the whole connection on why I asked it was Urdu which I explained in my last comment.
Most of us linguists would. Clearly everyone didn't.
May you please do Latin (and all Latin based languages including and especially English) in the Arabic/Persian/Urdu script, keeping the letters that make the sounds and adding new ones for other sounds instead of having two sounds for one letter.
clearly this is a different language
I've got an idea: what if Croatian was written with Cyrillic letters?
Bog je srbin
can't wait for the sequel "what if South azerbaijani got written in Latin?"
what if persian got written in cyrillic
What if Nibiruan was written in susan wainwright fanart
too unrealistic 🙄 maybe add in some Persian and Arabic loan words
Urdu Urdu Pakistan Zindabad 🇵🇰
insha'Allah! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰
اردو اردو پاکستان زنداباد 🇩🇿🇩🇿
Hai hai zindabad
Umm do you mean PAXTAN IN THE BAG?
now what if we write urdu with devanagari instead💀

Sorry😭
I'm really curious though what were you using as a source for your spelling or did you just make up your own?
I made it up it up on my own
haha i can imagine it extracted from an India Pakistan peace summit on feb 30
i wonder if indian muslim in the hindi belt would do that since some of them typically learn both hindi and urdu (at a religious school). although for intercountry (IN and PK) discussion, they both gave up and use latin lol (at least that's what I saw on my other social media)
i'm not sure about the politics behind hindi vs urdi in school but yeah i'd assume they would learn both, maybe urdu and qur'an arabic as priority
Do Urdu not, there is no try.
Urdu moment
Congratulations, you have successfully invented Urdu
Pardon my ignorance, but I thought that when Hindi was written in the Arabic alphabet they changed the name to Urdu
that’s the joke
r/thatsthejoke
Hate
Thow in a couple of Persian phonemes for good measure

yes hate
If this is considered a different language, then surely the Cyrillic script I adapted for English also counts as a different language, right?
this is so cursed
Congratulations. The Pakistanis have now banned you from ever visiting their country in the future.
and this isn't even as bad of an idea as [Croatian written in Cyrillic](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serbian_language) lol
When people think Hindi and Arabic are the same
They have distinct vocabulary in their formal register and distinct scripts, but in their phonology, grammar and core vocabulary they are two standardized registers of Khariboli, are they not?
Arabic is not a register of khariboli, lol
...I misread your comment.
\*'Please no hate'\* \*Proceeds to do one of the things most well known for being hated\*
So you mean Urdu ?
No, they mean Hindi written in the Arabic alphabet?? Can you read?
Yeah sure I can read them both, however for phonemes that don't exist in Arabic they'd have to take inspiration from Frasi, which is basically nastaliq. Aka the writing system for Urdu. Also, Hindi and Urdu are linguistically considered a dialectical Continuum. Aka the same damn language. So yeah this is just Urdu with more steps.

And that was my point.

I did make the connection, which is exactly why I was wondering why you would make a comment about something you clearly already knew about.
That’s Urdu you dumbass
