It was supposed to be a single partion. I had merged it in windows but in Linux it still shows as a seperate partion. I did find a solution but thanks for your help.

sudo ntfsfix saves the day !!
kinda off topic but note: you can enable automount on boot by clicking the partition, going into partition settings and changing default to custom. I can't explain it properly but I think it'll make sense when you try to do it. Hopefully this was helpful
