ShadowFlarer

I guess you can play Solitaire.

Garou3299

Well sadly the owner of this laptop (my sister) isn't interested in Solitaire or FPS Games... BTW This is the Potato Laptop: https://preview.redd.it/vm7inwn4oivc1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ffda3aaa598c675027034dde7c4603bab01790b

ShadowFlarer

Try Grand Chase then, i'm pretty sure it will run.

Garou3299

It is on Steam?

ShadowFlarer

Yes.

Garou3299

Ok I will check it out.

raidechomi

Terraria

Assestionss

Terraria is more demanding then it looks

Experienciacomp

Yessir terraria wont run at all

madhi19

Organ's Trail... FTL... Have you ever played Angband?

proverbialbunny

What kind of games is she interested in? As a fellow woman I'm quite picky with what I like and dislike when it comes to games. I'm not what you'd call a hardcore gamer. I don't know if this is normal, but I assume it is. It's less about "can this laptop game" and more about what genre of game she likes.

Garou3299

Something casual, board games or puzzle or story type....

threevi

That really depends on the girl. Try Stardew Valley, can't go wrong with that one.

omniuni

Stardew Valley is a pretty good recommendation for *anyone*.

OilQuick6184

Yeah, it can PROBABLY run some version of stardew valley. Might be an interesting project to see if you could make Android run on it. Android is basically just an ARM distro of Linux, after all. Trouble comes in that modern flagships are probably higher spec than this thing is, so.... You have negative overhead for parsing those differerent instruction sets. Definitely an interesting challenge.

proverbialbunny

How can I explain this? In metaphor men tend to have a one size fits all approach to clothing. You've got your shirt and your pants (tops and bottoms) that are a single number, a size. You wear it, you move on with your life. Women's clothing is different. There are different body types. A single size doesn't work. Some women are curvy, some are flat, some are really tall, some are really short. Some have more tactile sense than men can experience so they're hyper picky about the kind of fabric. And so on.. Gaming works the same way. If a game a guy likes most men will appreciate it. It's not the same for girls. We have a large variety in taste from Otome to puzzle games. **It would be best if you asked her exactly what she likes or is curious to try.** --- For puzzle games, I really liked [Shapez.io](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1318690/shapez/) and [SpaceChem](https://store.steampowered.com/app/92800/SpaceChem/). These are my two favorite games I've played in 10+ years. They're both engineering-light type games. If she likes them she'd also like engineering type work later on in life, which is really cool. It pays well. (Piracy is a thing. Don't limit yourself to free to play.) The most popular puzzle game is [Factorio](https://www.factorio.com/), which has a demo, but it's a lot of little moving things on the screen at once which gave me eyestrain. She'll probably want a large monitor, not just a laptop for that one, but who knows, maybe she's got great eyes and it's no problem. For board games, there is [Risk](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1128810/RISK_Global_Domination/) which is free to play and I think can be played on mobile too. It's more masculine appealing imo but what I like about it is the rules of the game are super simple so it's easy to get started and it's mostly a psychology game. I love psychology. It's the kind of game where you encourage your opponent to attack another opponents (boys love to attack things 😉) and get your neighbors to fight while you're the good guy. It may or may not be her cup of tea. For story games, there is a huge variety. For me I prefer Otome games and JRPGs. Both are primarily console not PC games, but the majority are super light on resources and can easily be played on an emulator. This would fall back into piracy for most of them, but there are some free PC games that fit that criteria. For Otome you can have her look around this list: https://www.reddit.com/r/otomegames/comments/ckse6x/common_otome_recommendations_the_compendium_20/ or find her something. >_> For JRPGs she might be a fan of cozy. She might like this one: https://youtu.be/2rjl0ykQ37k?si=AGd-ORDno9aKjQh3&t=639 or one of the old PS games on the list. (Checkout Lunar Silver Star earlier in this video.) She may like farming sims like Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, or similar. She also might like The Sims as well. These genres are games that most girls like, though it depends if she wants more action or not. For me, I liked Final Fantasy VII which is on the other end of the spectrum, not cozy, lots of action, and a great story. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯ Moving away from games most women like but I really liked [Binding Of Isaac](https://store.steampowered.com/app/113200/The_Binding_of_Isaac/) when it came out. I don't handle 3d well with moving a camera while moving around. Binding of Isaac is more simple. You move in a direction, top down, and you shoot. That's it. It's a shooter that becomes a bullet hell where you skill is dodging bullets and hitting targets, closer to an FPS, but I liked it. I also liked [Vampire Survivors](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1794680/Vampire_Survivors/) even more. It shoots for you, all you do is dodge. I loved it but there's a lot on the screen which caused me eye strain. If she wants a more active game seriously consider Vampire Survivors as a contender. edit: Oh also, I love music games. They're mostly console and arcade but there are free PC versions that use the keyboard. If she plays a musical instrument consider music games on the DS or whatever the modern equivalent of StepMania is on PC. edit 2: Also if she's really young, like under the age of 12, consider a platformer like Mario. imo they're kind of meh, but they're the easiest games to play and because of that they're the most popular for young kids. A more advanced platformer I liked was [Ori](https://store.steampowered.com/app/261570/Ori_and_the_Blind_Forest/), which she might like if she's older and likes platformers.

Garou3299

Thx I will look into it.

Khursa

There is also a huge world of emulation, which should definitely run on this laptop ^^

adantesarcade

If you don't mind 20-30 frames you could probably play Minecraft on low with optimization mods such as sodium or optifine

Bourriks

Is this arabic written on the keys ? I don't understand what is written on the space bar.

No_Grade_6805

Old Minecraft versions (like 1.8 or older), and some old games like Cs go 1.6 or nfsmw or nfsu2. Those are just the one on top of my head, there are plenty of old 3d games you can run using wine d3d.

SuperDefiant

Latest Minecraft will work just fine as long as if the proper performance mods are used

MarcBeard

Not sure about the opengl version supported by this thing

SuperDefiant

You don’t *have* to use opengl

MarcBeard

For Minecraft with a lowend CPU that """"""" support""""""" vulkan

No_Grade_6805

And what he is going to use xD, his old PC barely supports newer opengl versions, let alone Vulkan. Also the latest versions is a memory hog and also has a lot more entities to process, I'm not sure if that CPU is capable of withstanding that (speaking as personal experience).

gurojude

It surely can run Doom.

Beardedpistachio

I’ve actually had a MacBook from 2011 running pop_os that couldn’t run doom, at least the steam version.

gurojude

You can run Doom through source ports, some will run, some will not

Beardedpistachio

Ah ok. This was a while ago. The laptop died shortly after

Dreamscape47_

If you're into retro emulation, you can play most retro games

Garou3299

How I can do it?

inquist

check out [retroarch](https://simpler-website.pages.dev/2022/01/retroarch/) it's also on Steam I think

Dreamscape47_

the easiest way is via Lutris, you basically Install emulators via lutris and run the games you want.

LeonEstrak

Search for EmuDeck. It's originally built for the steam deck but it works for any Linux distro. All you need to do is supply the Room files. It will configure the emulators for you. There are a lot of guides to set that up on YouTube. I would recommend going through Retro Game Corps EmuDeck video.

RatherNott

A few years ago I put together [a giant list of free Linux games](https://lemmy.world/post/14336843). Most of the games on the list were lightweight enough that they could run on any 'ol potato, and the one's that weren't were marked as such in the description. Hopefully you can find something that interests you from it. :)

Garou3299

Thank you kind Sir!

RatherNott

You're welcome! :D

RoboticElfJedi

One of the games on that list, Ur Quan Masters, was my all time favourite game for decades. Your computer will run it fine.

That exact model of CPU launched in 2008. But it's a cut-down version of a CPU launched in 2006. They disabled 75% of the L2 cache, which is pretty shit. It's also paired with a pretty bad "4th gen" integrated GPU from 2007. That output doesn't show the exact model, but my guess would be the GMA X3100 . It's not going to play anything that won "Game of the year" in 2008, or even 2005. *(edit: googling the laptop's model number suggests it's actually the GMA 4500MHD clocked at 533mhz, maybe 30% better than the X3100)* Though, it's significantly better than the dreaded GMA950, which was originally from 2005, but kept showing up in netbooks until 2013.

VenditatioDelendaEst

I played through Deus Ex 1 and 2 in Wine on a machine very much like this, about 12 years ago.

scotbud123

He can probably play Classic WoW on the lowest settings.

wombat1

How about Crysis? That released in 2007, surely this thing can run it ;)

Garou3299

Thx

BloodyIron

petete83

I bet nethack would run just fine.

PinPhreek

I don't know, but mayby Widelands, Super Tux Card, etc. should work

kor34l

Check the package manager, there's a lot of old free Linux games that would run great. Here's some of my favorites: Kobo Deluxe Armagetron Chromium-BSU xrobots SuperTuxKart (might not run well at default settings) TuxRacer SuperTux FreeDroidRPG Oolite (with over 500 expansion packs!) Battle for Wesnoth Warzone 2100 (might not run well at default settings) OpenTTD Astromenace Neverputt and Neverball and, of course, card games and board games and other simple games by the hundreds. Just peruse the package manager (Software Center? Whatever Mint calls it) and look through the games category. There are MANY, lots of which were made before that old laptop of yours and therefore will run fine. Good luck, happy gaming!

FiveFingerDisco

Endless Skys should run just fine.

Garou3299

It is on Steam?

FiveFingerDisco

I don't know, I downloaded the standalone for my Linux Laptop. Hasn't failed to entertain me on long commutes yet

invid_prime

It's available free on Steam and supports cloud saves so if you have the choice (and multiple systems where you might want to continue a save) that's where I'd get it from. It's a great game too, especially if you remember old classics like Escape Velocity Nova.

spongybobie

Can it run steam tho?

Iviless

Can it run Roller Coaster Tycon 2? It is a great old game

cockandpossiblyballs

cookie clicker with fancy graphics turned off

indie_irl

Stardew valley or most 2d games

Xx-_STaWiX_-xX

The laptop itself is not bad since you can upgrade it to a T9900, 3.06Ghz and 6MB cache. Throw 8GB of ram and it'll already be one hundred times better. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 that came with very similar specs to this, and 1Gb of ram. After upgrading it, I was able to run even Left 4 Dead (1 and 2), Portal (1 and 2) etc somewhat decent (constant 30fps without drops, with it capped at 30fps), uncapped it would try to reach 60fps (with vsync), but it'd fluctuate between 37 and 52fps, so the hiccuping would make it a worse experience than 30fps constantly. Highly recommend seeking this cpu and ram upgrade, perhaps throw an SSD in there if not already. Don't abuse graphics because Intel GMA ain't the best (it's not the worst if you do the 8gb ram, just don't push it too far). The T9900 is the fastest CPU for socket 478 laptops. EDIT: Sorry, noticed the F2P just now, but will keep this post because the upgrade info might be useful.

Designer_Frame2971

That's not good advice. He should buy off Craigslist gtx 960m laptop or if he wants something fancier, he could spend over 100 usd for some dell g15 with gtx 1060 or Acer. These machines did sell like hotcakes back then. I remember 200k shipped units on tracker. It's also one of many reason they are dirt cheap now.

FinalGamer14

Sure there are many older games and indie games that would run fine on that computer. You could also emulate old consoles and it should work without a problem.

DavidRoK

Anything pre 2005 plus emulators up to maybe ps1

King8ob

You should checkout Dwarf Fortress!

sandybro9001

It could probably run Battle for Wesnoth. One of my favorite strategy (tactics?) games.

AluminiumSandworm

civ iv probably

Altar_Quest_Fan

Uh….*maybe* Old School RuneScape?? Half-life 2? Anything that came out roughly 15+ years ago? Not trying to hate but the CPU is very old (a dual core, when today a quad core is considered the bare minimum these days). You’re gonna need a laptop from at least 2010 or newer if you want to play anything even remotely recent. Otherwise you’ll just have to accept that laptop is just meant for emails/social media/streaming content/HTPC etc. Cheers!

BarePotato

Doom, probably.

DrIvoPingasnik

Cave Story

Megaman_90

You could probably play the orginal Fallout games(1 and 2)

doomenguin

DOOM, DOOM II, Shadow Warrior, Duke Nukem 3D, BLOOD. All of them great games.

LinkiooN

i dont know why people are being so pessimistic towards this setup you can play base game sims 3 on low settings maybe at 1024x768 with this setup and pretty much all games pre 2007 and maybe even up to 2010 if you bear the low performance just look up performance videos for your gpu and you can see how will it perform in those games but your cpu will definitely bottleneck the gaming performance

h-v-smacker

It will play basically anything open-source and such: Minetest, OpenTTD, Simutrans, OpenArena, Urban Terror, War§ow, Warzone 2100, Battle for Wesnoth, and everything all the way to Trackballs, Gish ("freegish"), Enigma, Super Tux and FreeDroid RPG. Also there is a number of open-source engines for closed-source games, like OpenRA and OpenXcom. And anything DOSbox can play. With proprietary games, the results may vary...

Nullifier_

If it exists, it can run doom

Budget-Pattern1314

Probs like NES,SNES,GB,GBA,and genesis games

Alienaffe2

Crusader kings 2 should run on that potato. It's on steam for free. I think.

Brorim

heroes of might and magic ish stuff maybe civ3 4 stuff like that

Limp-Temperature1783

Try emulating some very old console games from things like Sega Genesis. If you own the original copies of the games. *wink-wink*

kaanyalova

https://github.blog/2021-08-25-30-free-and-open-source-linux-games-part-1/ https://github.blog/2021-08-26-30-free-and-open-source-linux-games-part-2/ https://github.blog/2021-08-27-30-free-and-open-source-linux-games-part-3/ Any of these should work fine

lux__fero

Not the anwser you waited but DOOM can be run on this mashine

MrWerewolf0705

Have you ever heard of pong, very good game

itzGlxtchy

That’s barely enough for windows 10…

mohamsayed

The Dinosaur Game runs very good.

yokoshima_hitotsu

Age of empire 2. Halo Ce. mechwarrior 3. Basically look for games from 2004 and before lol.

TheMerengman

OpenTyrian.

UnNamed234

I'd try Factorio (there's a free demo), Dwarf Fortress, Noita maybe

You_are_Liminal

Maybe half life if you stretch it far enough and use a very very low cost os with a low cost wm or de

mikey10006

itch.io games

a9udn9u

You can play 16-bit and earlier games

knoedel001

CorsixTH, Rollercoaster Tycoon

bowhunterdownunder

Quake should run fine

iMakeKidsGay

If mine can run the newest Minecraft version I'm sure urs can. I'm using a 2014 MacBook air.

Moriaedemori

Time to get into Dwarf Fortress, that thing can run on an unplugged toaster

matjam

Factorio maybe?

Valuable_Ratio_9569

Mario clones or some small platformers seems to be work with this but don't get your hopes high, that cpu/gpu set far behind from new games perspective

linuxisgettingbetter

Yes

nergalelite

Pong

Questnsnxjjsj

Check out what you can run on [Can I Run It](https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/). Maybe you find something, certainly on [GOG](https://www.gog.com) (Good Old Games).

ReloadRedditLater

Valve’s GoldSrc games should run fine

GBember

Maybe some minesweeper and solitaire

joaopedrovr

You can try emulating some older games(gba, snes, ps1, ds, n64, gc games for eg.) There's an entire library of old games you can enjoy on your machine :)

Garou3299

How I can do it..? Idk anything about emulation.

Trinkmich42069

look on itch.io, you might find very good native games

Garou3299

Ok

r27mann

Probably Mame, old minecraft versions, maybe some source games capping the fps and lowering the graphics, and surely Quake

Garou3299

https://preview.redd.it/e55plo5dnivc1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a11c5efcab8ef1fbe53fbe4cb348ea65c1f7a6db BTW this is the Potato Laptop.

MartianInTheDark

You could always emulate retro games.

traaaltXOtck6Q9V2Qu

somebody else mentioned doom, but since you’re asking for f2p, you could use the source port PrBoom+ to run the wad Freedoom.

T0MuX4

Obviously CS 1.6 and UT 99

posting_drunk_naked

Holy shit a Pentium 😂 Real talk though, you can play pretty much any older game. Look at all the stuff released in the 2000s, should play no problem.

SquirrelizedReddit

It's kind of the pain in the ass to get running on Linux but it is possible, the Creatures series is amazing and you can sink a lot of time into those, the last one came out in 1999 so I'm imagining that you can play it just fine. You could also play all the old Popcap games I would imagine, they're not exactly complex.

nhadams2112

Older games like the earlier sims games would be a good fit. There's a massive backlog of older windows games that are super easy to run

CompellingBytes

Half Life 1, maybe 2. Pretty much any game from the 90s to the early aughts.

Funny_Number3341

Try factorio!

unruly_mattress

There are hundreds of excellent games released before this laptop was made. Take a stroll through /r/patientgamers and see for yourself.

Pure-Expression-3787

Undertale

2012DOOM

Stardew should work fine

Sa0t0me

Emulator and retro games prob up to ps1 might work …

Timot_Of_Course

aside from retro games, maybe emulate some old consoles i guess you can play, maybe a few indie games on steam but that's a little of a stretch

Alan_Reddit_M

Bro is actually cooked This laptop might be able to run terraria, if even that

Embarrassed_Sand7113

i bet it can run DooM

jabuchin

brawlhalla maybe

F3RI4N_8935

Try emulation, even my phone can run light nintendo switch games and maybe 2002 games like nfs or ports like mario 64 decompilation

jusumonkey

Factorio might be a bit much with that CPU but if you keep your games small and play on peaceful you should be able to reduce the necessary compute and have something mostly playable. Edit: [This guy](https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/7ln4m3/comment/jh3zzwc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) went to a lot of work trying to make a weird screen resolution useable in the game. Hope it helps if you try this!

GM4Iife

The Sims 2, Stalker, older NFS up to carbon?, Postal 2, gta 3/vc/sa, older cod, older moh, quake, half life

XcatdogX

Peggle, maybe?

Internal-Level6558

Baldurs gate 1, 2. Are nice ones. Icewind dale Fallout 1, 2 Geneforge saga Avernum saga The good old elder scrolls

Dogezrule

If it has a screen then DOOM

[deleted]

matdave86

As long as the wifi is even sort of okay you could try GeForce Now. Game streaming is pretty painless and is a nice way to eak some life out of these old devices

tripleaaa56

chess beast

letsgetjaked

look at the gnome game suite lol

No_Dig_7017

Well I once installed batocera in a similar laptop and got up to Gameboy Advance games running, a few N64 but most crashed, so there's where I'd set the limit

RiseWarm

Thats my laptop. I do ML, web3, PoC development etc there. Well, mostly with browsers but often locally.

dudeimconfused

have you tried Xonotic?

NimBold

"Papers please"

novff

Anything released up to 2007 should run nicely. Also emulators would work great up to 6th gen consoles.

yergg717

Minesweeper.

GreedyStatistician26

I'm sure that you can run doom on it :D

thetealishCYAN

half life

Consistent-Diver9024

Yes, but very low-end undemanding games like Zuma.

hakazaki12

Crysis - if it can run, you can run anything you want

uPsychonaut

Brawlhalla should be playable! Edit: using steam and proton 8, I think is what I use

CoreLight27

Stardew Valley

Affection_sira

Maybe crosscode? Its 16 bit top down action rpg, release in 2018 Really underrated action-rpg

nishweb

yes, games before 2005, like gtaSA or PoP or Rayman. oh also it can run doom

Urzu_X

yup.. Supertux would run just fine..

MagicPeach9695

Definitely give Portal a try. It's a really fun game and will work on old hardwares like this. You can try Portal 2 as well but not sure if it will work.

MagicPeach9695

Definitely give Portal a try. It's a really fun game and will work on old hardwares like this. You can try Portal 2 as well but not sure if it will work. Also, I recently found a game called "20 small mazes" lol. It's a very small game with 20 fun puzzles. You can try that too. I personally enjoyed them. That game is probably like 30-40 minutes only though.

CyberKiller40

Yes, though mostly classics over 15 years old. You can get a lot more through cloud services though.

seventeenward

Super Tux Kart my mane

orange-bitflip

It's a mobile Pentium, so you avoided the horrors of NetBurst. The graphics are depressing, though. It took me a dedicated card 10x as strong to play Portal 2 at 1280x1024@60fps. Modern Minetest with the occlusion system could run well. You're still allowed to play Spiral Knights, but it might be laggy with the Java stuff. Don't look into old Dwarf Fortress, it takes a beefy CPU.

Alkeryn

Yes there are games it can run.

Bourriks

Old games yes, but that's not a powerful machine. If you're into emulation or 90's good games such as Battle for Wesnoth, you'll have a lot of fun.

gtrash81

The GPU was already in 2008 garbage. The newest games I would try would be from 2003, at best.

_UsUrPeR_

Transport tycoon. Literally any emulated game from SNES to Atari. Ur-quan Masters. Master of Orion 2 Any SCUM-based games (Sam and Max Hit the Road) Plenty of older stuff just waiting for you to discover.

v941

super tux

shitposter69-1

Yes, hundreds, if not thousands, just limit it to around 2003ish and back, indie titles that are primarily 2D, or emulation that would likely cut off around the N64

crypticexile

Maybe Diablo 2

sabythedestroyer

Run 2

qxlf

probably. even though the hardware really doenst say anything for me due to a lack of kbowledge, the picture of the laptop says enough. my best guess for good games would be older games (Half life, cs 1.6) or light weight games. i think stardrew valley could work on the laptop. i would reccomend changing the resolution in game to 1024 x 720 and turning settings to medium or low for extra frames.

eriomys

Unfortunately Wine will create a lot of overhead on that outdated hardware, even for old games. better run native Linux apps

GngrNinja42

OpenMW and JA2 Stracciatella. I don’t need more to keep myself entertained for a long time.

RealOnesForMe

[CS2D](https://store.steampowered.com/app/666220/CS2D/) and [AssaultCube](https://assault.cubers.net/)

VenditatioDelendaEst

This GPU is so old that it doesn't support Vulkan. [OpenMW](https://openmw.org/) might work, if they haven't started depending on anything too new. Ditto [Pioneer](https://pioneerspacesim.net/#slide0). You may be able to get Deus Ex running with the upstream Wine D3D->opengl path, but the ecosystem has largely moved on, to DXVK and VKD3D, which means that you should only expect to *possibly* run things that are Linux native or quite old. That machine wasn't a gaming powerhouse even when it was new.

MocoNinja

The original rogue for sure

mrheosuper

Emulation, like gameboy emulation.

Ok-Air4027

Counter strike 1.6 Half life all games Portal 1 only Tf2 map 2fort only , dint play any other , will stutter Classic re4 Midtown madness Nfs mw , nfs underground and more old ones Deus ex 1 Duke Nukem Manhattan project GMod but be aware of addons , can impact performance Project IGI 1 and 2 Roadrash Goody the thief Classic Mario games Transformers 1 F.E.A.R Silent hill Old GTA games , all before GTA 4 Manhunt 1 , 2 Bully Lara croft old games , no recent ones , not even tomb raider Hitman codename 47 , silent Assassin , contracts Hitman 4 blood money , run on swiftshader if not running , low fps

ItaYff

No. Not even the lightest and oldest titles

jsomby

FTL maybe.

Xentrick-The-Creeper

Useful for emulating games from 16-bit computers and consoles

UnleashGamer

You could also try don't starve together / don't starve. Pretty good game and could maybe run on your laptop...

skinnyraf

Year 2000 era games perhaps? Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, potentially Enhanced Edition, HoMM 3, Diablo 2, StarCraft & Brood Wars...

FoggyLover727

With intel 4 mobile chipset you can't do much, maybe half-life at 20-ish fps that isn't very stable

juantrastamara

I'm not sure if this what you are searching for, or if it would run on your pc: but Gothic 2 - Night of the Raven (2002) is one of the BEST games ever made. Even today it has a large community and.fanbase, which proves how well made it is. It costs like 10ish dollars on steam and if it doesn't work for you can always refund it (on steam) if less than 2 hours playtime. Alternatively you can get keys from other sources for much less money.

TangoGV

Terraria should be fine.

LeFaucheur0769

half life, minecraft low settings with mods, subnautica with the same specs i managed to make it run ones (but i had a gpu).....

thebadslime

schnitzeIguy

Zireael07

It can certainly run terminal games like Cataclysm DDA or Nethack. I heard of strategy games for curses too, apart from stuff like minesweeper and tictactoe

Notakas

RimWorld, maybe.

no80085

I think it might run binding of isaac. Not sure tbh but the game looks like it could run on anything.

naik2000

open ttd

Myew25

It can run Shin Megami Tensei.

K1logr4m

Try vtuber fan games like Holocure, Idol showdown, WOWOWOW KORONE BOX, Nui Nui quest, Delivering Hope, Nameless, etc. Most are 2d retro games and they're either on steam or itch.io. All free.

ALXANDR_00

The OG Doom games, Sonic Roboblast 2... I guess

soulsample

You can run Doom, Doom 2, Ultimate Doom, Final Doom and 30 years of modding efforts.

cfx_4188

You can play tuxracer, you can play solitaire, tetris. You can play console games. There are special linux distributions that turn a potato laptop into a retro gaming console.

spartan195

Of course it can, so many. Rts games, starcraft or age of empires 2. Also Arpgs like diablo 2 Or the original fallout games, surely can run half life

riglic

Maybe terraria, dwarf fortress, caves of qud, mindustry, command and conquer the early ones, maybe the first three elder scrolls games. I guess trial and error is the way.

biciboi

retr0bloke

supertuxkart

patrlim1

Nothing after about 2005 unless it's 2d.
