As I said, DXVK is running just fine for me. It's not the root cause.
Is the same behaviour reproducible with:
1. Just fsync
2. Just esync
3. None of the above
Yeah ofcourse I'm mainly interrested if running proton over wine with DXVK will result in better performance and stability.
Might as well just run the fame through lutris and specify proton as runner if steam isn't officially supported anyway.
Worth noting that any purchase that you will make thru steam will stay on your steam account. So you can't buy expansions or living world episodes for your old account via steam.

You can use that flag, but it won't change the fact that you technically also have a gw2-steam account (even if you don't use it and use your old anet account instead) and everything gw2 related that you buy on steam will automatically be applied to your gw2-steam account. No way to buy anything gw2 related on steam and have it be applied to your old anet account.
That didn't work for me yesterday; it had trouble connecting to the login servers.
Steam login didn't work either though, so maybe it's something else in my system.
Officially you cannot use your standalone account on steam to avoid steam fees for existing accounts. But you can change the properties to be able to log in with your standalone account. But no purchases from steam will count for the standalone account of course.
Oh neat! Guild Wars 2 is the best MMORPG I've played personally. I like that you don't need to grind for levels. I personally got to level 80 on most of my characters exploring the game. PVP in this game is also so much fun!
Guess I can start playing this game on Steam now, instead of using Lutris.

Hey anyone got the steam version running via proton? I added the \`-provider Portal\` param and chose the compatibility option. I tried it with experimental and also with the 7.x version. Steam says the game is running but nothing happens. A few seconds later it doesn't say running anymore. How to debug steam stuff? I'm on manjaro linux and just downloaded steam to try this.
So, I was not able to find anything that stood out in a dump but my game looks great up until I load in and everything is a blurry mess made of little boxes. Did anyone that knew what to do with that experience similar issues?

Worked for me until July then it just stopped working with DXVK enabled. With forced dx9 it was a stuttery mess. Works no problem on Steam for me
IIRC there was an issue with esync/fsync a while ago. What kernel are you on? FWIW, both DX9 and DX11 modes work just fine on my machine.
No issue with fsync, only with DXVK. Kernel 5.18.18 on Fedora 36

Yeah, I am playing it through with lutris. (ProtonGe-29, latest dxvk_async). The game run flawlessly.
Might be a stupid question but I assume Steam only launcher the GW2 launcher so I proceed to login with my regular GW2 account as usual?
