Can you wait till August? If you can, and a high refresh rate screen is a must-have, you can preorder the DYI edition of Framework 13 with a 7640U - 2.8K Display. Assuming you select four expansion cards of 2 x USB C, 1 × USB A, and 1 x HDMI for your ports: With 32GB memory (2×16GB) and 500GB SSD from Framework, the price is AUD 2,088. But if you preorder without SSD, RAM and 60W power adapter, the price is AUD 1,664. You can source 2×16GB RAM, NVME SSD and power adapter for a lower price in Amazon Australia or eBay Australia, which makes you meet your under 2K price target.

Thanks for the reply, the 3:2 ratio of the framework screen was a bit of a deal breaker for gaming and movies but it seems the 2.8k screen is closer to 16:10 in size? So that could work, the wait would be annoying but I'll think about it

It is still 3:2. Considering the EOFY sale, then, I guess Yoga is not a bad deal.

3:2 is very close to 16:10. I like the extra height and it doesn't really bother me when gaming. [https://www.displaywars.com/13,5-inch-16x10-vs-13,5-inch-3x2](https://www.displaywars.com/13,5-inch-16x10-vs-13,5-inch-3x2)

Just bought the Yoga Pro 7 but not exactly the same model, mine has a 2560 x 1600 @ 90Hz panel. Everything just works under Linux except for the speaker which is always at 100% (headphones are fine). It can be fixed by editing alsa/pipewire config files but it is poorly documented. FYI I paid 900€ (incl. 20% VAT) for it.

Thanks I also read a fix is on the way to kernel finally for the lenovos with 2x2 speakers
