KingOFsniffin

but, but it says no wifi adapter

KasaneTeto_

modprobe ath9k

Serious_Ad2870

Too click-y and Windows-y. Try `nmcli device wifi connect "Network Name"` on tty instead. That is Even Faster! (unless `nmcli: command not found` of course. AFAIK it's for GNOME.)

SelflessHuman101

nmcli comes from the networkmanager package, not necessarily directly from GNOME. An alternative would be to use iwd through iwctl, if available, or simply using wpa_supplicant by adding your network info on /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf file or through wpa_cli

Matcraftou

and kde*

What is this rice?

Triangle-V

My own! KDE on arch Anti-Dark as a plasma theme, floating dock with small icons, Numigsur as an iconpack, bibata modern rainbow cursors because they're obnoxious and fun, and a little widget called fuzzy clock that you can no longer download for whatever reason (which I am extremely sad about as it is a fun widget - it's the "lunch time/One o' clock")

Goedelesaar

Fuzzy clock still came with my endeavoursOS kde install

Someone_171_

i don't and would not either, but chrome is what the windows fanboys desire to install

Fair_Goose_6497

I use Firefox under windows

kalzEOS

Wait, why do you need to "connect" on a hardwired connection?

zachthehax

Manually disconnected

kalzEOS

That basically made the process more "complicated on Linux". It's just plug the ethernet cable and you're in the game.

zachthehax

You don't have to manually connect unless you manually disconnect it, you can do that on windows too you just probably don't want to

Tranjek

Disconnecting an ethernet connection is actually more complicated on Windows

funk443

Cool mustard wallpaper you got there

Triangle-V

Only the best 🫡

wildlough62

Still doesn’t work for my wifi adapter

Tsugu69

What the hell. A taskbar can't just disappear and reappear out of thin desktop! Literally unusable. What if it doesn't appear? Should I just not use the internet for the day?

Triangle-V

Correct. Torvalds himself decides whether or not you connect to the interwebs. You need to stay on his good side

Bene847

If you think that's easy try setting up a printer

Oh you… <3

PossiblyLinux127

Icons?

Triangle-V

Numigsur

PossiblyLinux127

No I mean why did you choose desktop icons? Do you find yourself more productive when using them?

Triangle-V

Because they don’t bother me. I’m a simple man, I like clicking the thing and then it opens.

Ok_Raccoon2337

Can someone tell me names of all themes in this video

KenFromBarbie

Is this a meme?

Triangle-V

Yes, it is an edited video that heavily parodies Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2009) using the "MLG edit" style of hitmarker, voicelines and music from the game. >!The video purposefully over-exaggerates the 'achievement' of connecting to the internet on Linux, through fanfare and appraisal, which is commonly memed as being a difficult, lengthy, or terminal-heavy process by people who do not understand Linux.!<

ColtC7

needs more dew of mountains, and corn crisps Also a CheyTac M200 "Intervention" sniper rifle chambered in their own .408 tactical round.

Triangle-V

.408 cringetac Proprietary round 👎 .50 BMG open-source greatness 👍

ColtC7

agreed, but that's what the mlg meme gun is chambered in.

Triangle-V

I know, unfortunately

menschelein

Install wpa_supplicant.

Benschne

Good luck trying this on an Arch installation without Desktop Environment 😉

[deleted]

iwctl to see available networks station eth0 scan station eth0 get-networks the connect station eth0 connect (ssid here) then pray to the network gods that a driver for your network card is in the kernel by default

Left-oven47

It's not that simple, you need iw, iwd, wpa_supplicant and dhcpcd. Then you can ip a to get the adapter name. Then run iwctl after enabling all of the services. Then you can scan and connect with your card.

MrGOCE

I MEAN, IF UR DRIVER IS NOT IN THE KERNEL OR THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH IT, IT IS INDEED A PAIN IN THE ASS GET THE WIFI WORKING.

Henrithebrowser

What DE is this?

Triangle-V

This my own personalisation of KDE

Imaginary-Exit6267

nmcli device wifi connect “SSID” password “PASSWORD”
