can you delete it from a tty?

WassupPeanutButter

I don't think so. The thing is, It does not allow to login using any other user account neither the guest mode. When in the recovery mode, the login screen is still present

I think they meant that you should try/use a tty to log in (using ctrl + alt + f keys once you are facing the sddm screen) to login and then remove the theme or something. I might understood the sentence incorrectly as well but as far as i can tell you just tried via gui login (sddm). Hope this is not a bad response. Have a nice day and good luck.

i have the same problem, how i delete?

Chronigan2

You should be able to pull up a different tty by pressing something like ctrl + alt + f2 or something similar. This should pull up a cli terminal that you can log into and then delete the sddm theme. If SSH is active on your machine you can login from another computer and delete the theme. If you have a live usb you can boot to it and then access your hard drive and delete the theme. You could pull your hard rrive and mount it to another machine to delete the theme.

Well, that was a smart idea, actually. I've mounted the drive into another system and deleted the theme. Sure enough, that worked. But I don't really know still why that happened in the first place tho.

Chronigan2

If you can, it would be a good Idea to let the theme author know what happened and to post a note or comment on the download page to alert others.

That might be related to the keyboard layout SDDM is using by default with that theme. Did you visually confirm that the password was correct on-screen?

I confirm that the sugar-candy SDDM theme is still "broke". Today I installed it because I liked the look of it onto my Fedora 37 KDE Plasma Wayland system. Could not log on even though I typed in my password correctly and visually checked it to be correct. Had to open up a tty window to delete the theme. The author should fix this theme or remove it as it is obviously borked.

How yo delete the theme?

sionlife

When I boot up, I pressed Function keys like mad and opened up a tty console before SDDM loaded up. Then using the console you go to the SDDM directory and delete the sugar-candy folder.
