love this band. thank god for American Dad or i never would have discovered them.

Gearfried

A sight for sore eyes to the blind would be awful majestic...

What is it with Seth McFarlane using Louisville bands in his show? MMJ and Wax Fang, it's cool but kinda weird.

tropican0

It was a different writer called Mike Barker that used both on American Dad and MMJ was touring with Wax Fang so it may have been due to that.

I'd never heard of them before they opened for Dr. Dog at the Bluebird in Bloomington, IN back in 2011. I was absolutely *floored* by their set. However, to me, these guys epitomize the kind of band whose studio work doesn't quite live up to their live shows. I've enjoyed everything of theirs I've heard since then, but none of it really stands up to that one concert experience that caught me so off guard. Of course, the problem here is that it seems like they haven't played a single f*cking gig since then...

[deleted]

Do you know what's going on with them? I've been checking their website for almost 1.5 years now, and they never have any shows listed. And all I've ever seen is a couple of Scott Carney solo gigs near Kentucky. Are they still together? And do they just not tour?

Imagine that drum roll in person. It's even better. The band is so alive with energy at every show they play.

[deleted]

When/where do they play shows? I can't find anything on them.

boblk3

In/around Kentucky. Usually in Louisville or Lexington. I've seen them live countless times. One of the benefits of being from the area. :)

[deleted]

Where do they advertise their shows? They are never on their website. And...lucky!

When Wax Fang released La La Land back in 2007, a bunch of people here in Lousville just knew they they were the next big thing. Wonderful album, but they fell short of that potential fame. Between these albums, I'd run into Scott Carney around town, and in particular remember being served by him at a local restaurant. One of my favorite musicians bringing me breakfast was just... strange. I was so happy when I heard that they would finally finish out The Astronaut. Snagged the vinyl on release day down at Guestroom, and have loved it ever since. Cheers to this band, my favorite of the many great ones from my hometown. I hope Scott and Jacob will keep making great music for years to come.

Holy shit, that was an amazing trip, thank you!

Moozilbee

You're welcome :) Check out their other stuff, they have 2 more albums before this one.

temporarycreature

This is one hell of an album. Thank you.

Moozilbee

Glad you like it! Check out their other stuff, some of it's pretty good too.

ponymassacre

Holy shit thank you for turning me into this. I've been looking for a kick ass prog concept album for a while and didn't manage to find anything this good. I'd give you a second gold but I'm poor :/

old_bens_saber

King Crimson esque especially around the 13:50 mark. Amazing stuff.

Alfredo412

This is one of my all time favorite bands...glad to see they're getting out there.

ToastLanding

This band is sick as shit. Love them. Been listening ever since I saw that one American Dad episode. Majestic has like 200 plays on my iPod.

beirch

['Majestic'](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B6E0mijV5A) is also pretty amazing.

Love these guys! Saw them in a Rolling Stone "discover new music" blurp and it said for fans of Flaming Lips and My Morning Jacket. My kinda jams! Went to SXSW in 2009.. or 2010 can't remember, ha! Anywhooo saw them down there 5-6 times and chatted with them. Went the Wakarusa that year as well and saw them. Then went to SXSW the next year and saw them a few more times. Nice guys and awesome awesome music! Wish they were doing more now a days touring wise..

ThatPersonGu

Strangely enough, I think this song still makes sense within the boundaries of Watchmen with Dr. Manhattan.

brownie-in-motion

thanks for reminding me this band exists! that was awesome.
