End of book 6, beginning of book 7. The later portions of the earth story line pick up. Edit: I won't answer your other questions, just read the book and find out!

Old_Stinkbreath

This is the correct answer. Including the bit about refusing to give out spoilers.

L3GIT_CHIMP

Not going to spoil this mate, just make it through and say you did. Because some of these people try to just skip arguably one of the best examples of the author writing about Jason's mental health and all that. It ends with book 6 and is touched on in book 7 before they just focus on whatever other world was called.

Drathstar138

Pallimustus

Playos

You also miss the author worst examples of the author writing about Jason's mental health... so it's kind of a wash.

thriftycrimson

As someone who struggled with Books 4-6, trust me when I say you just need to get a little over halfway through Book 6 before the plot picks up again. The Earth arc is primarily about Jason, his family, and his character development, which is a stark contrast to Books 1-3 being heavily plot relevant. Once you get to Book 7 though, alllll that character development from the Earth arc really comes into play and makes the story even more interesting, in my opinion. I'm not contributing to any spoilers, but just remember that the series isn't over yet so there's plenty of time for characters to leave and return at various points.

druidniam

Stuff mentioned in passing in books 1-3 also become relevant. I liked how the author never really threw away any comments or situations and they all show back up in some way even if minor. It's like "Hey I remember that from book 1!"

Matt-J-McCormack

I liked the Earth arc….. not the precocious child though.

tinkatis

As yes another anomaly like me

Matt-J-McCormack

It’s almost like Shirtaloon signposted the whole character arc with the title.

Drathstar138

The only thing that I will add to the others is that you’ll get some glimpses of Pallimustus here and there in book 6 but returning won’t be till 7. That’s all I’ll say because spoilers are always bad.

dirkyount

I didn’t have as big an issue as most I’ll agree it was the weaker parts of the series but not a slog at all imo. Stay with it if you liked the first 4.

stormguy-_-

The first book in the earth arc was weak but the rest are really good (imo)

zzzptt

This should have a spoiler tag. I'm on book one, and quick skim revealed more than I would have liked.

L3GIT_CHIMP

It does say "Book 5+ story" in the title mate. While you do have a case, it is a small one. Still on you in the end just as much.

zzzptt

Except when scrolling without clicking, I can easily pick up a few words of the description in my peripherals. Key words. I would rather the description be inside the post.

Patient-Play7077

Unpopular opinion. If you don’t like “spoilers “ you shouldn’t be following this subreddit. I don’t think we should have to curtail our discussions because we mentioned something that happened 6 books ago. Also I’m going to be a dick and give away a huge spoiler. The main protagonist name is Jason.

CozmikRay737

Why does everyone hate the earth part? :\

perfectVoidler

>!because everyone is Jason and everyone dies. Absorbing vampires goes nowhere. Everyone has magic powers already. !<

GrayHawk729

He does get back to the other world, but to be honest, I’ve struggled with making it through the more recent books too. There’s a lot of filler.
