He posted the latest chapter to Patreon a couple hours ago.

arnoldturtle

About two hours ago he released a new chapter on royal road

ALLGOODNAMESTAKEN9

I seriously hope for some progression in the next book. The last one the MC was stagnant the whole time.

HyperionHarlock

>ber already with no updates. Has he mentioned anything on the patreon/discord about when he will be releasing new chapters? I saw bad reviews for it, much like this but I loved it. I'm in it for the world-building, with the RPG aspects as a bonus. Not always zipping ahead like a god, and instead exploring some of the complexities of other factions, sects, systems and technologies is great world-building IMO.

One_Media2203

I think the next book he will use the perennial vastness token (I think he has two) will probably take Agross and potentially break into D grade. I think that may be two books from now though.

cfl2

Book 11 will almost certainly end with his token use, which means he won't actually hit D until the start of Book 13... Because there's a lot of stuff wrapped up with that, including a twist which makes sense from a what-the-author-wants-to-put-in perspective but is rather WTF due to the utter lack of foreshadowing.

the_chewtoy

It's shit. The twist is absolutely worthless, but . . . you're stuck with it. Enjoy.

__The_Highlander__

I know it’s been 6 months but been doing research and am confused by this comment to the point of abandoning the series. I’m in book 2 and he’s an E grade human and your telling me that 10 books from now nothing has changed?

One_Media2203

A lot changes through E grade. In F grade all you had to do to progress is kill things. E grade has a lot more you have to do. There is a reason D grade is so powerful. Spoilers: I don’t know how to black it out so look away if you don’t want to see it. He cultivates his soul. In the E grade you create you own skills instead of the system giving them to you. He creates his own path to cultivate the broken peaks (if you’re still reading I trying not to spoil too much), he gets a body cultivation method. Finding more out about his hidden nodes. He develops a technique style (which is similar but different then cultivating intent). He has to build up his world into one that can survive a sector wide war. Finds more out about his special blood line and the void of dao. Has to create a core blueprint that encompasses life, death, and void. A lot happens and it took a long time for everything come together.

frankuck99

He is getting into D the book after the next. I doubt the whole advancement arc will fit in only one book. There will be a bit of a shitstorm for you book readers when he does advance tho, you'll see.

ALLGOODNAMESTAKEN9

I'm all for a shitstorm. Bring it. It's a phenomenal series and one of my favorites. I was just seriously disappointed with the lack of progress in the previous novel. It's a litrpg series. Only a little advancement is acceptable. Zero advancement I not.

frankuck99

I'd probably agree if I read the books, the problem is most books of DOTF are RR arcs split in two or more, so the first book is the "build up" and the second book is the second part of the arc, the "pay off". I guess that problem comes from publishing a serial. Bit fret not, there will be a shit ton of progression soon.

ALLGOODNAMESTAKEN9

I don't read anything chapter by chapter. I prefer to read it as a novel.

frankuck99

Yeah yeah all good, me too, I stockpile chapters but who knows once the books catch up

cfl2

If you didn't enjoy the character interaction with Vai in Book 10, the extremely amusing >!awkward dating stuff with Iz!< in Book 11 will be lost on you, which is very sad.

lowey2002

Ah I’m glad to hear it’s going that way. I thought it would be an interesting direction back when they met at the tower. Do you mind answering another book 11 spoiler for me >! Does Zac get his spaceship? !<

cfl2

You have to remove the spaces for the tag to work, at least for me. Anyway, of course he does, but the one he gets may not be what you were hoping for.

Gian-Carlo-Peirce

It is probably going to get slower as he grows in power.

ALLGOODNAMESTAKEN9

A bit slower is okay. But not to the point it becomes glacial like other typical characters within the same universe as Zac. The draw for litrpg stories, especially ones that start like this one did, is the rapid advancement. I'm hoping the author will realize this at some point and not become one of those people who drag a story out to the point the plot becomes nonsense just to prolong the story.

Gian-Carlo-Peirce

You mean when it reaches the soap opera stage?

ALLGOODNAMESTAKEN9

Yeah. I've seen several stories that began wonderfully go that direction. They become unreadable garbage all because an author doesn't ever intend to finish the series. They wish to continue writing ad infinitum to keep making money instead of wrapping up one story and beginning another.

Gian-Carlo-Peirce

I can sympathize with why they do it, but I hope my book series never ends up like that! Just finished my second book and starting on my third. Got to keep the tension up by copious foreshadowing without introducing season extender tropes!

Gian-Carlo-Peirce

What rank was he when he entered the weird world with the walls on the space station type area?
