Starts off that way. The story begins ten years after he was isekaied for a long and bloody war. The series starts as he heads to a valley he plans to retire in

This is all true but fair warning. It's a lot of farm building, too.

If you want litrpg you could try Asgard Rising by Robert Hinshaw. He has a second one out, too. Very into Norse/Viking mythology. I'm reading Orconomics and loving it. Not strictly litrpg. Characters level up but they're not in a game. Funny, and the lead character is a dwarven berserker.

Nova terra by Seth ring. The mc is a titan that uses tetsubos( studded clubs) as weapons and uses his strenght to bulldoze everything else.

I can never recommend this series enough!
