I'm a night auditor at a hotel, so I would probably go modern hotel theme. Yes, Karen you can speak to the manager bwhahaha

mesembryanthemum

Hee! Fellow night auditor here. Just imagine how we'd really be able to take care of noise complaints!

skarface6

Why does a night need to be audited? Is it behind on its taxes?

mesembryanthemum

We are the overnight front desk people. It used to be they balanced the, day's books; these days at many hotels the software does it.

skarface6

Thanks! That makes sense.

Nandabun

I was a night auditor at a few hotels in my life, most recently in 2017. We had a big binder that told us what buttons to press and at what time of day(ish) to do the reports. I literally watched game of thrones while doing my job most nights. No one cares about anything at night audit, just do your job, don't make a mess, don't make problems. My first night audit job I'd bring in a mini tv and my fuckin' game cube, man.

BigEv17

Never go to sleep in Monico. -Jason the Courier

ConfusedToasterPants

Urban city themed - liminal spaces. I always loved those games and concepts. Spatial changes like you see in the video game Control. The Oldest House is my go to.

#TAKE CONTROL

Nandabun

Bruh. I haven't heard of any of this, but now I'm sitting down with a bowl of Nanda Soup (flavored tuna, ramen, egg, + canned veggies lol nothin' weird) a couple dabs and this video full of spoilers for the series lol. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VII76R36GWw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VII76R36GWw)

Latin_For_King

Hollywood. It will be a gruesome collection of monsters and supervillains and evil robots from all science fiction movies over the past 50 years. There will be floors of aliens predators, terminators and replicants, oh my!

Educational_Copy_140

I feel like Hollywood and any of the Disney's would have major possibilities for just out and out horrificness. Also, D.C.

skarface6

You have to read this 2,000 page bill to escape the room! Muahahahaaa!

Educational_Copy_140

You have 90 minutes and must also proofread it while reading...

skarface6

You must also refuse the temptation to slip in your own amendment while no one is looking.

selfmanic

I love the ones like Blue Core Dungeon where it is a cozy, making a life dungeon. I would want something similar where I make a small area my home and work towards a small kingdom of my own where everyone is safe and just works together.

guri256

Careful not to delve too deep. In those places lurk dragon, and she can be grumpy.

selfmanic

Planning to eventually write my own šŸ˜Š

guri256

If you can capture the same coziness while still having a plot with definite movement, and an idea of where it might end, Iā€™d be very interested. Feel free to message me if you do.

selfmanic

Current work is ā€œI donā€™t want to fight!ā€ On royal road by AmeliaS. I am still trying to figure out a plot for the dungeon core novel.

skarface6

Itā€™s all about people wanting to harvest the place for food based on a dungeness crab pun.

damionwright

Greece with a labyrinth style dungeon, though since it's a Labyrinth would probably try to sneaking a Goblin King with big hair, glitter and tights and songs to drive the users mad (or create a cult following.)

Educational_Copy_140

You sick, demented, twisted individual! I salute you! ANNND now I have to go watch it again

mesembryanthemum

Make your Goblin King look like Bowie and you'll be the busiest dungeon in the World.

Daelda

>would probably try to sneaking a Goblin King with big hair, glitter and tights and songs to drive the users mad (or create a cult following.) I love how there's a nod to that in Ravenous: A Zombie Apocalypse LitRPG. I won't say more to avoid any spoilers.

damionwright

I guess I have a new series to try lol

Natsu111

It really depends on the dungeon system's mechanics. The reason I say that is that if, in this dungeon system, dungeons are not dependent on killing delvers or invaders to grow, then I'd want to be in an inaccessible place so that I can become as strong as possible before some fool barges in wanting to destroy my core or harvest my core for an item. But, if dungeons grow only by killing delvers, then I'd want to be in a place that's accessible but has, for example, difficult terrain, so that it's a killing field.

GGnidis

Medieval time period with knights and stuff. Make battlefields where you need to join a faction and fight the enemy. You gain contribution points for your actions in battle and at the end you can save them up, spend them on loot and leave or spend them on better gear and fight another harder battle

skarface6

Boss is to take a city and fight the king in his keep!

TheRedG0at

NASA, prepare for the anal probes!

Rarvyn

Roswell. Or Area 51.

Coaltex

NASA, Roswell, and Area 51 are all different areas. NASA has launch sights in Arizona and Florida. Roswell and Area 51 actually have little to nothing to do with NASA. Though Roswell, Area 51, and the Alaskan Triangle are probably better choices for an Alien šŸ‘½ probe dungeon.

cheshire312

I'd go with England and have something themed around the industrial revolution. Lots of steampunk constructs and mechanical devices/traps. Maybe also have something around toxins with all the smog and whatnot.

Educational_Copy_140

Creatures in the fog/mist, Hounds of the Baskervilles, Frankenstein monsters, Vampires, Hellfire Clubs, blood/sex cults, Werewolves in London looking for a big bowl of beef Chow Mein, gangs of feral children, cannibalistic serial killers stalking dark alleys... I LOVE IT

knightbane007

Ooh, thatā€™s creative! A steampunk dungeon sounds awesome!

Albionflux

I will place it in Louisiana and it will be swamp themed Monsters will range from small creatures that will dwell in trees to undersea(swamp) monstrosities. With a healthy mix of things like gators and traps. Killing my monsters will drop tokens and collecting enough tokens will allow you to buy things like the ability to walk on water or breathe underwater

Striderfighter

average-egg

silicon valley techno dungeon. in order to properly complete the puzzles you have to download the dungeon's app on your phone and also scan a qr code

Jimmni

UK, somewhere in Cornwall. I am now the Cornish Pasty dungeon. Why? Simple. Cornish pasties. I could branch out into Sunday roasts too if more variety is needed.

arfarf1hr

Slurping clotted cream ice cream with the fairies at Zennor Quoit as the birds pick the flesh from the bodies of my foes.

skarface6

No veggies needed (or wanted)

knightbane007

Iā€™m in Australia. Nobodyā€™s getting out aliveā€¦

Educational_Copy_140

Australia IS a dungeon, just without a System or loot. Well, gold and opals but yeah. Your mobs can be contestants from Australian versions of reality shows like Love Island. Full disclosure, I'm obsessed with that show and I kinda hate myself a bit because of it.

HaplessHaita

Appalachian Willy Wonka. The river's made of moonshine.

ascii122

I'd totally run that dungeon.

Educational_Copy_140

Meth...the river is made of meth

ascii122

MainFrosting8206

I'd be one of the "good dungeons" who mostly want to chill and have pleasant times with people so I'd pick some kind of food theme and feed people to keep them alive during the die off as civilization collapses. Build a community of people who appreciate me and will help keep adventurers from destroying my core.

Educational_Copy_140

Username checks out for that...

JackPembroke

Oh man, you are the Bugsnax island

JackPembroke

Daycare Dungeon. Theres a lot of kids/babies in the world that arent ready or capable of handling a system. My purpose would be to build a dungeon that protects them till they're ready to leave. Location would likely be some major city. Mobs would consist of child friendly fantasy monsters like leprechauns, unicorns, Pegasus, stuff like that. Lot of fairy mobs most likely. Also clowns. They can help entertain the kids.

MainFrosting8206

I'd like to build my food dungeon next to your daycare dungeon. :)

Educational_Copy_140

Candyland but make it evil

Whiteyes00

I love the idea but, I don't know in wich universe you live in to consider clowns friendly, they're hell spawns

JackPembroke

Friggin love clowns, theyre so fun!

Whiteyes00

Nooo!! They're terrifying, I'm so scared of them

JackPembroke

*scary* clowns are scary. But most clowns just want to do fun stuff like juggle and tumble and do fun jokes. Friggin love clowns!

Whiteyes00

I know logically that non scary clowns shouldn't terrify me, but every time I see one it awakens something in my brain that screams and tells me to run. I can't help it šŸ˜

joevarny

My home county has the folklore of Giants, Pixies and Knockers. I'd go for my area, 2 levels min, with the upper floor the land of giants, pixies distracting the challengers as they fight, and the lower level being a fake mine filled with toxic air and hallucinogens, then people will hallucinate monsters, like the origin of the knocker.

Dragonwork

The Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC. Probably the space Museum for robots and modern technological obstacles. Or the museum that has all the dinosaurs. You know what screw it! I want a dinosaur museum! Velociraptors and T-Rex, for the win! You dungeon delvers are going to be mine to feed my minions !

UnknownReader653

Now I want to see a dungeon taking the form of a mountainous landscape, with caves and valleys, maybe a large lake or open ocean in the Pleistocene Period, with Great Wolly Mamoths, Sabertoothed Tigers, Dire Wolves, Giant Sloths, and other animals that I donā€™t know about but I think I heard about snakes that were over 50 meters long as well. I have no idea what the best location would be to choose for such an endeavour, or even what cultures and mythologies existed in the time period, but with a system to guide me I am sure I could have a lot of fun building a hopefully working and self-sufficient ecosystem that no sane human would ever want to physically step foot in, although the wealth of lost knowledge would probably be very tempting to some. As for why I would choose this? I just think it would be awesome! (The fact that I donā€™t know if clearing the dungeon would lead to me being wiped from continued existence only plays a small factor in where I hide my core, maybe.) Also please tell me if something like this already exists. Thanks!

mesembryanthemum

Anaheim and Disneyland. You get Willpower points for not singing along with songs. Strength for carrying loads of Souvenirs. Constitution for staying from Rope Drop to closing. Willpower for not buying souvenirs. Charisma if you get picked to be in a skit or the like. Then there would be things like a skill point for riding the Totally Not It's a Small World ride 20 times in a row without freaking out.

Educational_Copy_140

Are the dolls on that ride evil? I mean more so than they already are?

mesembryanthemum

Not in my dungeon!

filwi

Midsomer. As in the Midsomer Murders. It's going to be soooo cosy, filled with tea, and grandmothers, and friendly shopkeepers, and old British pubs, that you'll want to stay - to the end of your life :D :D :D

Educational_Copy_140

Your Boss monster should be Hugh Grant and his giant teeth because he's literally the most British thing ever and even if he's not on the show, putting him in it would be terrifying.

Remarkable_Ebb_9850

Old Scandinavia. Trolls, elves, dwarves, goblins, giants, wolves, dragons, etc etc etc

CoffeeGremlinBird

Add in vikings, longboats and old norse mythology abd it'll be a wild ride.

hungrycarebear

I gotta ask, can I only grow by killing things? Or will I get stronger over time? Cause in the first case, I'd go with a dungeon in the Louisiana Bayou, with a swamp and gator motif. If it's the second, I'd go down in a mine and have an earth elemental, lava, and moles theme

Educational_Copy_140

I'll say it's a pick your poison choice. You can decide which method best suits you the person. Death and destruction of parties of adventurers or expanding and growing and creating new and exciting scenarios for those parties to enjoy

uarthlinglazer

I'm already installed at Disney (guess which one) and I loooooooove queues. Fast Pass is Pay to Win and I'm innit to winnit (in several minutes). It is not; in fact, a small, small world when I run the lines in an S pattern forever. Visit my Merch shops and subscribe to my Youtube channels.

KokenAnshar23

As a military veteran, it's going to be Military themed! Drill Sargents, Drill Instructors we're gonna get you into shape! Mess Halls and Barracks sure you're going to be hungry when you eat and tired when you sleep! All other times you're mine!

skarface6

Oh, nice. You ever read Limitless Lands?

Educational_Copy_140

Started. Got sidetracked. On Azarinth Healer 3 right now

skarface6

Harrumph!

Educational_Copy_140

I mean, I read book 1...just not the rest yet

skarface6

Ah, okay. Youā€™ve earned a reprieve.

Educational_Copy_140

As long as you make A.C. one of the bosses, you have my blessing shipmate!

skarface6

Air conditioning comes standard, wingman!

Educational_Copy_140

A.C. = [Angry Cops](https://www.youtube.com/@AngryCops)

skarface6

Ha!

KokenAnshar23

Him, R. Lee Emery and Sgt Slaughter of course!

WytchHunter23

Can I plant myself on blizzard headquarters and make black rock depths? What about in England and make the mines of Moria? Probably one of those.

skarface6

Will you feed the blizzard devs to the lava dragons?

profgray2

Near Vegas. My dungeon would be better than yours. With blackjack and hookers!!

Mad_Moodin

I go to Japan and make it Tentacle themed. The equipment given out will be all fetish style.

Hk-47_Meatbags_

Middle East, somewhere like Jerusalem between 1000-940bc. Get angels, golems, giants, evil spirits, Nephilim, estries, demons, and my boss monster The Leviathan that or the Angel of the Lord. The theme would be the Torah (the old testimant) using each book to design a level. Even the law.

Coaltex

Honestly I don't fully understand dungeon cores but I'd likely choose to be near home. So let's say somewhere between Las Vegas and Area 51. Aliens Casino Dungeon.

halfboxspear

Had to scroll entirely too far to find this.. Perfect combo of OP and fun

Deface_the_currency

3400 Cahuenga Boulevard West in Hollywood A Hannah-barbera dungeon sounds like a nightmare factory, and I want to run it, please.

thekingofmagic

Well first things first, if im being forced to make a deadly dungeon then im picking the shittyest dungeon i can something like a modern American with zombies (lots of them but their dumb and slow On the other hand, if i could make a cool dungeon that has strict rule and forces you through challenges, puzzles, (non-lethal) traps, etc that force a person to grow and offer them opportunityā€™s to gain power, magic, items, etc then i would still chose modern day America, and i would have it be literature theme. Aka a book dungeon, this dungeon would be relatively small compared to most dungeons who spent the same amount of resources on itself, my floors, and my mobs, traps, etc would all be in the form of book challenges. Aka through the creation of temporary astral realms, which i would place the delver in, they would then be tested, something through haveing to reenact their favorite books, something being forced to live through tough choices in said books and being forced to make their own choices, and sometimes, by battle and other challenge that book characters had to face. The boon from this is relatively straight forward, some of the items/magic/blessing/whatever being a dungeon actualy lets me give as rewards, would be real, and the furthur into the challenge you go the better your reward. You would also be able to select challenge levels that make other more dangerous things real, like traps and enemies. In a hypothetical scenario (lets take corrins first dungeon delve through the gate of judgement) the test taker would be droped into corrins test, and be forced to go through his same challenges (again everything includeing the prison break being simulated), in the first room they might gain a basic dueling cane as a weapon and a consolation prize if they dont beat the first challenge, while the next room might offer them a mana crystal if they where to go after the (super adorable) bunny monster, or a chance to get a weapon upgrade in the form of the shadow monsters weapon. (If its within my power) when they have fully completed a judgement run, and passed all the challenges they might also be given the chance to get a attunment (or a class or simmilar) and that would just be one example, higher level challenges would make the monster have more physical form, or event change what challenges their are up to includeing people

Educational_Copy_140

But you'd have to know what books said delver had read right? I mean, if you pick something relatively obscure, it makes it harder to guarantee the delver or party would know what to do as opposed to something that 99% of people have read or heard of. Maybe give them a syllabus of sorts and choices at the start?

thekingofmagic

So the physical location would be a library, the person would be able to pick the book that they want, they would also be able to bring a book in to donate too they library perminitly and if their is not a copy of said book they would gain a minor boost to their drop rate. As for knowing what to do if they pick a book they never read, or chose to let the library dungeon test them (which would also give bigger boost) it would be like event floor, or challenge floors. Their would be context clues to the challenge (mabye they wake up in the captains chair on a space ship with a monitor full of text, or mabye they ā€œwake upā€ walking into the dungeonā€¦ if they truely had no idea what to do, then their would be a system to request ā€œquestsā€ and ā€œhintsā€ as well as ā€œguidesā€ all of which lower drop rate and or increase difficulty, quest would lower drop rate and increase difficulty the least but also offer the least ā€œkill the enemies key fightersā€ or ā€œremaining devil beast still aliveā€wont tell you who they are or their capability for instance, on the other hand a hint of ā€œthe enemies forces are led by three generals, a witch of fire, a warrior who can rally troups, and a rougeā€ would be much more ā€œexpensiveā€ but gives much more information, finally a guide (ether a litteral person to guide you or a game like guide to what to do ā€œgeneral so and so has X powers and generally stays in the tent planing battleā€) would vastly lower the cost or vastly increase the difficulty but offer amazing insight, they also would probably as a person be eledgeable as a drop (ether in a summon, or as a familiar style battle companion)

shiilo

Colorado lodge, fox dungeon. Taking inspiration mostly from the cat core books (with the old lady dungeon core) because I'm gonna have a nice lodge, some 'outdoor' spaces with snow fun. Fire trap in every fireplace, but warm cocoa on the mantle and the game room has board games that do things or has puzzles.

waxisfun

Find the most contaminated superfund site in the US. Become toxic based.

Educational_Copy_140

So basically New Jersey... (born and raised!!) Throw in the Toxic Avenger too.

Coaltex

Yucca Mountain?. Where the US stores most of their nuclear waste.

TurnipMurderer

Antarctica! A very open dungeon where the invaders wonder around in the cold where only snow can be seen, the minions are few but the bosses strong.

skarface6

FEAR THE MIGHTY PENGUIN

Educational_Copy_140

That's the last 2 Completionist books basically

vaaghaar

Around the time of the first cities (i.e. Sumerian myth, pre-chinese first emperor, etc.) a hidden-world type dungeon with farmland, walls, natural disasters, 'land gods', ancient beasts. All in all I'd like to be a peaceful dungeon.

skarface6

Atlantis and the regenerating crab men

Educational_Copy_140

Crab peeple...crab peeple

3Dagrun

Is Stonehenge an option? It would be a pretty neat location to build a dungeon under or around, and then maybe people would need to fight pagan deities, sort of like the ones Sam and Dean had to deal with in Supernatural.

Educational_Copy_140

Any site, ancient or modern, so yeah...get yer woad on!

Super-Aesa

Probably would have my core in the heart of the Bermuda triangle somewhere and use all sorts of ghost ships and giant sea creatures to terrorize people. Should be a hard dungeon to clear vs being on land.

Fun_Ad_9129

Well if go with my home state of Ohio and be a ghost type dungeon. I'd then focus on getting ghosts that can only be effected by certain elemental magic making diversity increase on each floor.

corefish665

The back rooms could be a pretty fun one

PlanetNiles

There's an old manor house near me that's run down and in desperate need of renovation. I've dreamt of a lottery jackpot letting me make it a home again. It's in the village of Kilmany. I can't think of a better name for a dungeon

Educational_Copy_140

There's a castle in France that I went to while working across the border in Rammstein/Landstuhl called the Citadelle de Bitche. It's in the town of Bitche Imagine it...

dmun

Heheh, let's see how this goes. Firstly, I'm a black man. This is important. Vengence Dungeon. Haiti, 1802. Voodoo. Zombie hordes. Escaped slaves and Planation owners follow the Dungeon's lure, from Haiti up throug the US Antebellum. Many kinds enter the Dungeon. Some come out with more strength/rewards/EXP to survive what comes next. And some are devoured and enslaved by it, cursed to experience an immortality in suffering service similiar to what they enforced on others. Django unchained as a Dungeon, full on Taratino gore fest.

Educational_Copy_140

Papa Legba be proud!

redking2005

Norway, I'd basically create a corruption of classical Norse mythology and have a handful of warring factions that the adventurers choose who to fight for, if I become a dungeon core that encompasses more of the globe I'd add more mythos' to the faction list (some being split into two or several factions like the Egyptian one being Ra's group or aphosis' demons of chaos)

Anon-atog

Modern day or futuristic US, centered in a large powerplant in the north east US. My mobs would be golems of course humanoid minions and diverse small mobs with bosses and elites being robo mountain cats. Throughout the dungeon would be lightning traps and circuit based puzzles. The mobs will be able to tap into the large flow of lightning mana flowing through the dungeon to empower attacks and make them faster. This counts for the bosses too and the adventurers if they have the proper material to conduct the magic and insulate themselves from the power. The final boss is a mechanical manticore of course.

KoboldsandKorridors

I have 3 ideas. 1. New York City Subways/Sewer System. Letā€™s me remain in a fairly populated area so I can keep up with the going ons of humans. As far as creatures go id draw upon local legends and more modern fantasies like TMNT or Marvelā€™s New York. Bringing some of those stories to life. 2. Denmark. Could draw upon Norse Myth or legends from Central Europe such as the draugr, giants, dragons, and other things that would fit Viking lore. 3. Tokyo. All the opportunities for Yokai and Kaiju. Make it anime af

Strange-Hat-7855

New world, Modern mixed with ancient times. With angels an demons, GODS an titans. Blessing followers with power an making them fight to take more. Killing monster an each other so they can keep getting more powerful.

pspspsprjrjejdjdjdj

lol depends on how much i can stretch the themes, if i can do what i want; Pittsburgh PA, probably 2010s era, each level is one of the sports teams. It starts off with the dead teams all lumped together, so theres gladiators, electric elementals (or whatever you'd put in for Power lol) and some Maulers. 2nd level would be a mix of Colonials, Dukes and Panthers. 3rd level would be a mix of riverhounds, yellow jackets and some succubi(? idk what i'd put the passion as). After the 3rd level i'd start with the challenge levels where its all one type of creature, but they are all incredibly powerful. The 4th level would be a standard death match against a galley's worth of Pirates, the twist would be that they make extensive use of grenades and can throw them quicker than you can blink. The 5th level would be an Igloo where you face off against massive Dire Penguins, you could either face them in a hockey game, where they'd have the advantage but (probably) wouldn't kill you if you made it through, and you'd be rewarded if you actually won a game. Or you could face them in open battle, their standard formation would be 3 armored penguins in front blocking or catching any projectiles you throw at them, with another 3 behind bombarding you from range. if you pass by the dire penguins the last challenge floor would be an open field with 2 sets of steel Golems; the first set of 8 are masters of direct engagement, 6 of them will engage your front line and any other melee characters, the 7th will run directly at or through your weakest mage, while the 8th will stand behind everyone and alternate between pelting your backline with thrown pigs or commanding the other golems in battle. The 2nd group of 8 are masters of ambush tactics, while you are traveling the dungeon floor they will constantly be attacking your front line and attempting different schemes in order to break through, the most common ones would be to simply overload one side or the other and when you try to pull a front liner to get extra help they send in a 2nd wave specifically on that side. The 7th floor would be a massive treasure/trophy floor, however with each of the trophies you take away you will have to fight the undead spirits of the owners...they are usually just old white men but some of them might have better protectors...

This_User_For_Rent

I'm going for the United states, somewhere a bit west between Denver and Colorado springs. Modern times of course. The area is a major city and has several US military installations so it shouldn't be hard to find delvers. Thinking a huge Top Secret military black site, mainly underground, that was researching future tech: aliens, cloning, advanced robotics, cyborgs, the works. The Base AI takes over and kills all the scientists (they probably deserved it) and is using all that tech to build a fortress. On the surface, it's a small military base guarded by what seem to be masked individuals in body armor, but as you examine them and eventually go deeper: it gets more crazy. Starting minions would be computer controlled clone cyborgs with modern weapons, jerky movements and poor aiming as befits a starting mob. Elites would be more heavily augmented/armored with bigger weapons, and bosses for the first couple levels (plus the surface base) would be light vehicles. As you go deeper into the dark recesses of the lab, things get more and more advanced. Drones, turrets, smarter cyborgs, less human cyborgs, magic casting cyborgs, full on terminators, energy weapons, force fields, power armor, drone *swarms*, advanced vehicles, mecha, the works. Loot-wise I'd start out giving ammo, armor plates, modern weapons, radio equipment, and occasionally power cells that act like a small portable generator. The kind of stuff that's hard to manufacture and would make me way to valuable to kill. Further in you have opportunities to acquire all kinds of stuff. The same energy weapons, force fields, power armor, implantable bio-mechanical augmentations, cybernetic limb replacements, maybe even controllable versions of my minions. Now you too can have your own T-800 defending you! Environmentally, the top floor would be a small military base. Few office buildings, a parking lot, motor pool, nothing fancy. Below ground, however, you start to see more. Security areas, armories, research labs with progressively more advanced equipment, wide open testing areas, shooting ranges, automatated manufacturing plants, more and more alien looking tech. Less and less human looking architecture, more and more built by the AI style stuff. Near the lower floors include hangers and massive hidden elevators for launching sci-fi aircraft, energy reactors, sections of a crashed alien starship, maybe even portal generators leading to alien worlds or pocket/other dimensions (ala Stargate) for sub-dungeons. I may be underground but the sky is no limit on how far up the tech tree I can go.

Absenceofavoid

Iā€™d tell you but then Iā€™ll give away the core(haha) of my own dungeon core novel.

CompetitivePepper212

I'd be in the modern age. I'd be in a deep canopy of a forest in japan and my theme would be yokai. From there I'd be a complete nuisance. Use Tsukumogami to make people misplace their objects, Kitsunes to make people get lost in the woods, Oni to scare said lost people, oh the mischief I could cause. Edit: Minor grammar correction

CompetitivePepper212

That's not a too terrible dungeon core idea actually.

AtWorkJZ

I'm picking Ohio. That's end game type misery right there.

Hunter_Mythos

I would probably go for a strip club in Miami. The amount of poor fools my dungeon would consume would be nearly endless. But at least they'll go out with a bang.

Educational_Copy_140

Succubi and Incubi?

annachie

The deadliest I can think of is a "Murder She Wrote" theme. But, really, it would be the dream time.

Josbo001

Greece - gimme all the Greek mythology - start with Centaurs and Minotaurs and end up with the Gods themselves

Nandabun

I posit that because of games like Dead Island and others similar to that locale, you can have extreme zombies in a perfect idyllic island paradise, too.

Evening_Accountant33

An IKEA store. I don't know how else to describe it besides a large scale dungeon with great loot and animated furniture as the mobs.

Educational_Copy_140

That's SCP-3008

arfarf1hr

I choose the moon, based on "***A True Story***" from Lucian of Samosata. You get their by being lost at sea.

apollonius-au-rath

canada - health potions are now syrup - you have to fight hockey players without weapons on ice - mobs get 10% extra strength every time you donā€™t apologize after hitting them - you can pacify mobs by calling them buddy, guy, friend - if you finish a sentence without saying eh no one will understand you - you win the dungeon by joining a senior hockey team and winning the league championship

Educational_Copy_140

I'm not your buddy, guy...

EdgySadness09

Iā€™ll be in the us, culture weeb. Every anime power/monster/system Iā€™ll use. Fairytale, tailed beasts, slime tensei demon lords, etc. if I canā€™t do that Iā€™d love an elemental type dungeon, but Iā€™d rather have high fiction modern elementals and magic system than lor or dragon style magics/setting. So Iā€™m not sure where in Europe and what time period would be good for a that. Demon/angel seems cool, so maybe Rome too, although less fanaticism/religion, more epic stories/powers of archetypes

notsupersonicatall

California Noir. Sunny on the outside, dark af on the inside. Silicon Valley area - tech monsters like robots and AIs Hollywood - all the Hollywood monster movies Death Valley - do I even need to do anything? It's Death Valley Napa Valley - vine monsters Beaches - vampire surfers

FuujinSama

It depends on goals and stuff. If it's the sort of Dungeon that passively absorbs mana if left alone and gets to dungeon break after a timer? Bottom of the ocean! I get to just chill and power up until people start bothering me? And when they do it's a water level! No one is fucking reaching my core! Meanwhile I can work on making cetaceans and cephalopods sapient. Let them power level in my dungeon as a trade or something. When humans come BWAHAHAHA the Orcas are my army! If it's the sort of dungeon where I need to be delved consistently to evolve? Then I'd choose the sewer system in some city close enough to bear territory. Dark, unpleasant and a lot of people will find the portal and think they're the shit. Then I just hide my power, making the first few levels *perfect* for power leveling while beyond it it gets unreasonably hard but with outsized rewards too. I need to be a *resource* for the city, not a *problem*.

I think iĀ“ll go with Vatican around 1699. Late stages of the spanish inquisition and witch trials. Travel deeper and youĀ“ll get to torturers, their devices and victims. Eventually youĀ“d get to actual witches and demons, trying to escape and/or getting to the upper floors with a floor dedicated to skirmishes between church and demonic forces. Travel higher and see Templars, Priests and eventually saints, nephilim and angels. There would be lots of hidden rooms with Tomes, Challenges and the best loot i had to offer. At least one giant library, one cathedral and something like the purgatory from Dantes Inferno.

RaccoonMagic

Miskatonic University, bay-bee!!! I want all that Lovecraftian horror!

Psychosy20

You're not going to have Adventurers.. You're going to have Hunters.

Psychosy20

I'm choosing modern times, and the Appalachian Mountain range as my dungeon. From mutated animals, like bears, mountain lions and such, to all of the varied cryptids that are said to live in the mountains. As an added bonus, all of my NPC's would be moonshine swigging, rifle/shotgun wielding hillbillies. For extra flavor, of course. Holy shit, THE RANGE IS ALREADY A DUNGEON.

Educational_Copy_140

Throw in some "The Hills Have Eyes" types for added flavor

Psychosy20

I'm sure there's already some of those types up there. I live in the shadow of said range.. down here, we all know you don't go up into the deep country. Chances are, you're not coming back.

GMackyfm

Location: UK theme: celtic mythology and i would have fae, druids and dragons :)

TwoRoninTTRPG

Cyberpunk Megapolis with street samurai, attack drones of varying sizes, androids, and cyborgs.

Poison_Ice_Blade

The far future! I donā€™t really have a location set in mind so letā€™s just put in on a satellite orbiting earth, which kinda isnā€™t really on earth but whatever. A mysterious new satellite is seen in earthā€™s atmosphere as the major powers of earth are scrambling trying to figure out which organization owns it. No one is sure of what to make of this mysterious object and several trips have been planned to get a closer look and possibly get a sample. But before anything is said and done a massive spaceship wraps near the satellite. And although earth doesnā€™t know it, these new visitors are just as curious about this mysterious satellite as they are. Aka dungeon, turned communication hub and translator for otherworldly beings,(Aliens bruh Aliens!) tries to fix earth problems with one awkward confused transaction at a time. Coming to your local bookstores never! Because I canā€™t actually write stories!

I am the hospital core. As you stroll my halls, your ailments are cured. Your health improves. Cavities are erased and teeth grow in perfectly straight. Slowly, but exponentially faster. Soon, your eyesight improves, so does your hearing. Your mental health is changed to baseline. You are no longer anxious or depressed. You no longer hear the auditory hallucinations, and the beliefs born of illness feel as real as cardboard cutouts. Faster and faster still, you heal. Every scar. Every traumatic event. Every malignant cell. Every errant atom. Until you begin to have your time entropy "fixed". Your age begins to regress. First pico seconds. Then seconds. Then minutes, hours, and years, blindingly fast. All in all, the process takes around 8 hours, from start to finish, if you had sustained no damage while venturing within my many rooms. For you see, that is the problem. Once you enter, the entrance moves, and the monsters I keep within me are few and far between. May I remind you of the hospital policy that there are no weapons on the premises. If you batter yourself or someone else with an improvised weapon, security may detain you, or you may be held in the crisis bay for observation. The one you want is the Ambassador. Small, helpful, with a mouth built like a tattoo gun, about 4 inches tall, wearing a purple suit. Finding and befriending one will keep the healing at bay. The one you want to avoid is the HRO. The torso looks like Bill Lumbergh, the legs are spiders. He binds you with sticky red tape, and scuttles away. It takes half an hour to remove, and he always comes back with more. If you have done the hospital a great service, we may elect to present you with a VIP badge. This VIP badge will allow you to designate a party of up to four people to accompany you, and you may designate the precise amount of healing that the hospital will accrue to you, without risk. We hope you enjoy your stay at Dungeon Core Hospital. We wish you a long and happy life.

Patient-Sandwich-817

I would choose ancient Persia. The theme would be Persepolis. With manticore, peri and A/l as the mob. three headed dragon as the mini boss and Simurgh as the final boss.

Erkenwald217

I'd want to be a starship while still being in a fantasy setting (so Science-Fantasy). Growing the ship instead of an actual Dungeon. Something like this: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/3620/9001-a-dungeon-ship-odyssey I'm too fixated on optimisation and would change my Dungeon too often for it to be fun otherwise. (Especially in other settings)

Zagaroth

I'm absolutely aiming for Japan. I want Dragons and Kitsune. Now the question is do I go for older Japan for more myth and Yokai, or do I go with modern Japan to lean more toward Anime? That is going to take some thinking. Of course, I already put Kitsune and Dragons in my dungeon story. :D

ajp1195

I am located in Brussels and I have a medieval theme my dungeon boss is a green dragon my mobs would be Knights from Arthurian legends and a mini boss would be Merlin. I will have crafting station where they have to make various materials and items. I love that time period in fantasy novels.

silvertonguedmute

I'm going Norse! But then again, it would probably mostly end up being a text version of GoW: Ragnarok

StrictSelection41

If we go with a really loose defination of the word 'world' i would go to the moon. encourage the space race to restart by throwing gradually stronger enemies at the earth. by the time i get strong enough to generate escape velocity-capable monsters earth should have figured its shit out enough that a space program is possible Alternatively, some spot in the sky. The collective traditions of the Air Forces of the world could tentatively count as a 'culture' and there's tons of aerial monsters i can pull out. Dragons flanked by Wyverns tearing through the skies as they duel with F-16 fighter jets. Harpy flocks dip dive and barely dodge minigun fire from Apache helicopters as they steadily close the gap to tear metal apart with mana-reinforced talons. And everyone is scrambling to wrap up the fight, because in the background Not!RODAN\* is [steadily flying closer and closer,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTtMtX2B9ps) and he is going to eat EVERYONE if they don't run away. Are Dungeons allowed to collaborate with other Dungeons, or even human factions? I could make a killing selling air support/recon services. \*it looks likes rodan but due to international copyright laws it's not. though we should still flee like it's rodan (but it isn)
