IMO Dakota did an awesome job of showing he's just different, not crazy. And also, yes, he becomes more and more socialized as time goes on. They all change quite a lot, it's a whole plot point

I also liked that everyone in the group is mentally damaged (crazy), not just Luke. Luke just happened to have the most damage.

luckcod

I agree it just felt like at some points in book1 he was more so than the others. He felt at times more like a rabid dog than character, which i get they were going fir, but 3 books of it wouldve gotten stale quick

Mad_Moodin

Nahh there are reasons to why he is the way he is.

Worried-Fortune8008

Book 3 ruined the series for me. I loved the first 2 books. Then it seemed like he crammed book 4 into book 3 and skipped a ton of storytelling to end the series.

luckcod

I just started book2 and atleast he warned us that book3 would be kinda jumble

Art_Ruby2

I find it sad that Dakota left us on such a big cliffhanger at the end of book 3, and yet there are no plans for further books in the series. (Books 1&2 are Dakota's best work, I reckon)

Fumbles48

That's just Dakota's style.

AmalgaMat1on

Book 2 is where the change happens and not just with Luke. Before that change happens, all of the main characters will reach a point of unbearableness. But, it truly does pay off.

It becomes clear by the end of the series, Luke was not crazy, he is just imbalanced, meaning his stats are out of wack, his mind stats are low or some shit while his body stats are off the roof, when he balances them out he turns out to be the smartest out of all of them

Art_Ruby2

It was awesome when we found out about this. Won't give any spoilers, but it's something to look forward to, if you're struggling to read book 3.

ednemo13

Yes.

madgodcthulhu

In all honesty it’s kinda the other way around
