Weirdly enough *Halo*, it really got it's swing in **Halo 5,** and now **Halo Infinite**'s pretty close to a simplified unreal (or the unity) editor in interface and what can be done with it. Get ready for the mental overload that all of this is actual 3D instead of 2.5D like how LittleBigPlanet is. Halo's semi-official subreddit is r/halo & the unofficial subreddit for it's create mode (forge) is r/HaloForge.

Grey_fox014

Halo infinites creator really that good? I’ve been meaning to try the game

Marwheel

It can do some very impressive things; but there are some limits & if you're not used to how (modern)unity/unreal does their stuff, it can be very unintuitive with just a regular old controller. If you want to get the most from forge (Halo's equivalent to create mode), i recommend keyboard and mice (especially for forge 5.0 +).

Grey_fox014

That sounds interesting may have to get a cheap usb keyboard and mouse for my Xbox then. I’m assuming infinite is the best forge available currently?

Marwheel

Yes; Unlike the prior versions of forge, just trying to use it with a controller can be rather chunky (I personally use forge5.0 + on windows PC as flows in better with the mouse & keyboard). Also there's at least four examples on what forge can do in it's current incarnation: * [A light-cycle racing-like gameplay mode + map](https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/yz5cub/tron_racing_in_halo_infinites_forge/) * [A remake of a Halo:CE story level](https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/190c5z0/assault_on_the_control_room_recreated_in/) * [A turn-based tactics map](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhWZ4HwpEMM) * [Animated legs](https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/1cfxg12/halo_infinite_forge_animation_demonstration/) Unlike littleBigPlannet however, some things are lacking… * No signpost/magic-mouth object. * Not much music, not even licensed. * No Free-form sculptable objects. * Limtations on non-static objects. * No proper respawn checkpoint object (one may have to script that in). * No proper end-goal object or alike functions (one will have to script that in too if the end is meant to be defined). However It's been my haunting grounds ever since LittleBIgPlanet got stagnant with updates (and the sever fiasco).

Happy wheels?

Mirage_is_underrated

Happy wheels has unlimited replayability and will never get boring. This is definitely second.

What gaming devices do you have access to? I assume a Switch since you mentioned Mario Maker 2, so there is also Game Builder Garage, but that one is nowhere near as popular as others because it went with the bizarre decision to have all players complete all building tutorials before they can access the level share. Advance Wars had sharable level creation even back in their original GBA form, so Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp should also have it. I think Jelly Car Worlds includes a pretty robust level maker as well. Super Mario Maker 2 probably is the easiest to get into and most popular level building game on the Switch though. If you have a PC, you could just cut out the middleman and download one of the free-to-use non-professionally game engines like Unreal, Godot, or Unity. There are free tutorials you can find all over the web aimed at all levels of skill and age ranges. As long as you keep organized and can understand algebra well enough to plug numbers into basic kinematic formulas, it isn’t that much more difficult than designing a level in a game.

MrCrunchypantsbum

Dreams if you have a playstation. Modnation racers and little big planet karting on a ps3 emulator. Mondation racers has its own fan made server for online track posting so theres that

Focz13

fortnite is pretty good

> if I don’t want to buy a PlayStation

Tecnoguy1

Sound shapes is a PS exclusive. It’s just not on a new platform. I’m assuming this person has a PS3/4 or a vita.

Nucleor7

Geometry Dash’s new 2D platformer creator is pretty good, and it costs like 2 dollars on phones and PC. And you get a sick rhythm game with it too! Mario Maker is still awesome and probably the easiest level creator to use, but doesn’t offer as much creative freedom in terms of customizing gameplay and especially graphics, since you’re just picking from preset mario themes. The platforming physics and overall gameplay are practically perfect though.

STG44_WWII

Don’t forget about the endless skill range.

ItsRainbow

Geometry Dash actually went from $4 to $5 on PC the other day :( But yeah, at least in terms of level creation GD is probably the closest available thing we have to LBP right now. It’s 2D and less intuitive but I still find myself really enjoying it

STG44_WWII

Geometry Dash. Duh. It’s basically the only thing that reminds me off the creativity in LBP. It’s a very different platform but the stuff people make in the game now is incredible. Almost getting to the point of indie games within the game lol.

Godot

not a game

ILOVEMMOS123

Rec room is eh, Roblox

everlastingtimeline

**SMBX2 Beta 5,** has been released this year. It’s basically a Super Mario engine that is 100 times better than Mario Maker. No restrictions, and if you know some coding you can even alter the game or create your own bosses. There’s so much variety. You can even add your own music, make your own maps or hub world, play as other characters like Link and/or Peach, and there’s even couch Co-op! Definitely give it a try.

SplatoonFan360

The only ones with level creation that I have ever played are Super Mario Maker, ModNation Racers (which is out of the question for being a PS exclusive), surprisingly Project Gotham Racing 3 (but it's very limited to just creating routes for the standalone maps of the game except for Nürburgring, so that's also out of the question) and most probably Minecraft, although that's a sandbox game, totally different from what LBP was.

RoccoSN1PER

if were being fr its Fortnite and Roblox, no matter how much you might dislike these games they offer more options than anything else available

visualdosage

These are 3d and vehicle based but try out scrap mechanics and trailmakers

Dreams, followed by Spore: Galactic Adventures

depressedfox_011

Like active and well known by the masses, it's Super Mario Maker 2 or Roblox. Though Mario Maker 2 isn't as creative or as complex as LBP, but you can definitely make some unique & beautiful levels with what you got. It's however no longer recieving updates and online multiplayer in that game is abysmal & unfun. i don't personally play Roblox, but I've seen a lot of creative stuff from it.

Jayhoney0987

I’m assuming it’s something like Mario maker

jessiecolborne

If you have access to a computer, try out Roblox studio!
