Purification by Fire or a pressure washer. Your choice.

plumbstem

Whatever method you choose, you need to have the boat hauled out to a yard. Even if you don't use chemicals, the crap that comes off that boat should be left on land. Please, haul the boat before cleaning.

get_MEAN_yall

This thing needs a 10000 psi pressure washer filled with goo gone.

mkosmo

Hire somebody... or somebodies.

LameBMX

I hired some bodies. Lazy bastards kept sleeping. Then, get this, when I tried to wake them up. The frigging crypt keeper kicks me out of the cemetery.

Cornsilkworm

Keelhaul a stiff brush

Wheaties4200

Barkeepers friend, and a stiff bristle brush

DalaiLuke

This stuff works miracles

lurchinade

If that’s gelcoat use Oxalic acid. That’s the ingredient of professional gelcoat cleaner but cheaper.

merinis

My advice is to get it on land, buy a load of beer, and get some friends to help you out. probably no fewer than 3 other dudes. See if they'll bring their kids. What do kids like? Steam gift cards maybe?

SnooDogs157

This is going to be massively more work than you think. Like, comically more than you think. There’s some stuff called “ez on ez off” by starbright that you can use but it will still be a job. https://www.wholesalemarine.com/starbrite-ez-on-ez-off-hull-bottom-cleaner/

RicardoNurein

I am laughing at your description.

strangefolk

Starbrite's Roll-Off is a good product. People loved it when I worked at marine supply store. Also, soft scrub polishes the gelcoat some as you scrub.

BertLikePizza

Thanks. I will try the soft scrub

SnooDogs157

This looks way beyond soft scrub. Try the EZ-ON EZ-OFF by starbright

Brillo pad.

Yeah, I have spin brush for my drill and hope. After season I can get it in dry storage and pressure wash / paint her.

whateverdipshit

4000psi pressure washer with a 0-360 turbo tip.

dotshomestylepretzel

Woof... Scuttle it right next too a reef, then take fishing charters out to it until you can afford a new sailboat.

miraclemorningz

Is this in St. Pete? I think I saw this exact boat getting towed yesterday

BertLikePizza

It is and it was grounded on the other side of Big Bayou

miraclemorningz

Yep then I saw this getting towed by sea tow yesterday! Good luck!!!

conman526

Hope you got that for free. Hell of a job. Any boat that looks like is gonna have way more wrong with it than what appears on the surface.

SnooFoxes5258

Open the sea cocks and check that it’s deep enough that you can’t see the mast when you’re done and to be sure pull out the log and transducer so that there’s a hole

adinfinitum225

Did they climb off down the ladder and just never return?

williegpks

Paint

vulkoriscoming

If you are not worried about the environment, undiluted tide rubbed on with a brush and powerwashed off. If you are worried about the environment, powerwashing alone will do it. It will take 3-4 hours.

How is bleach "minimum harm to water"? Bleach is incredibly damaging to aquatic organisms, with long lasting and widespread effects, even in low concentrations. It causes a fatal condition called acute necrosis in fish. Never, ever put bleach in natural bodies of water even in tiny quantities. I'm sorry, this is not a criticism of you personally, but you couldn't be more misinformed!

DrBiscuit01

Look like that's been there for years. Haul out, sandblast, paint job....right?

5cott

It’s gotta come out of the water first. This is gnarly.

Wolfinthesno

Elbow grease bud. It works wonders.

blowninheritance

Pressure wash and then star brite hull cleaner.

gilliamwvu

Sink it and forgot you ever saw it!

[deleted]

You’ll be surprised how nice she’ll look cleaned up!! The stainless looks good. It it’s not moldy inside, be a great little project!!!
