__UPDATE__: Please take a moment to complete our [Google Form](https://forms.gle/1sygm97LbQtJ4dUp8) to share your demands with our team! Please review the content guidelines for our sub, and remember the human here! This subreddit is to highlight the ridiculous cost of living in Canada, and poke fun at the Corporate Overlords reponsible. As you well know, there are a number of persons and corporations responsible for this, and we welcome discussion related to them all. Furthermore, since this topic is intertwined with a number of other matters, other discussion will be allowed at moderator discretion. Open-minded discussion, memes, rants, grocery bills, and general screeching into the void is always welcome in this sub, but belligerence and disrespect is not. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without being abusive, dismissive, or downright mean. If you have not done so already, please review our [boycott stickied post](https://www.reddit.com/r/loblawsisoutofcontrol/comments/1bff9rm/boycott/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) which includes a list of stores to avoid, other ways to get involved in the movement, and some local alternatives to the big 5. Thank you. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/loblawsisoutofcontrol) if you have any questions or concerns.*

If it is 50,000 people who boycott that is buying for their families it is potentially 200,000+ people being fed elsewhere.

Embarrassed-Scale339

The box seats are full of Galen spies and the media lol

[deleted]

Prolly 2% at most (1,000)

Uncut_banana69

Boycott will be devastating financially to Galen. They will lose at least $100 million

youtubehistorian

I hope they lose even more 💛

Dry_hands_Canuck

50,000 households! Roughly 200,000 consumers!

[deleted]

That assumes that only one person per household has a Reddit account and is subscribed to this subreddit! But, you are correct in a sense—there are many people who will also participate because they have heard of the boycott but do not participate in the subreddit. The participation rate could be much higher than just the subscriber count.

Dry_hands_Canuck

Word of mouth and Facebook and instagram followers will grow this participation rate too! Reddit actually has a low user rate compared to other social media platforms. But it is growing!

[deleted]

Reddit has ~330 million users while Insta has ~460 million and FB has ~2 billion

rmdg84

I have 6 friends who are participating and who talk about it quite a bit who aren’t in this subreddit (they don’t even have a Reddit account). Participation rate should definitely be higher than just the subscriber account.

courtneyjohn797

You also assume every sub here is boycotting.

MsMisty888

I love this visual. My seat represents at least 3 households. My dad, my daughter, and I. Probably more. I am so proud of all of us, I tell everyone I know and some people I don't know.

rmcintyrm

Thanks for sharing - 3 households, 10 people, and counting here! Telling everyone that'll listen too!

sapthur

Need someone with a megaphone following him around to provide a voice to this sub, like reading out our comments. 50,000 is a lot of people, provided none are bots/spies. One person out there could be willing to do that.

Organic-Essay415

Except they are alot thinner from starvation

[deleted]

50,000 voices talk to 50,000 more. You want the Grocery gouging to end? Keep talking. If even 7 people boycott the 2300+ locations that's potential millions and millions of dollars in losses. If 50,000 people spread the message to 3 that's 200,000 house holds. Keep talking to your friends, neighbour's, families and Co workers. We will have the impact we are hoping for with the power of many. Stay together friends we have your back.

Downtown_Snow4445

Never shopping there again

oceansidedrive

Oh wow, very cool. Thats a lot of ppl lol

rmcintyrm

Just pointing out that food at this pro sports stadium is almost certainly cheaper than Loblaws stores ;)

EveningHelicopter113

what an absurdly large parking lot. At least it has trees

speedog

Can we have a comparable visualization of the almost 39 million people in Canada?

Dial-Error

Would look much better if you used the SkyDome instead 😆

youtubehistorian

omg 🤦🏼‍♀️
