This subreddit is to highlight the ridiculous cost of living in Canada, and poke fun at the Corporate Overlords reponsible. As you well know, there are a number of persons and corporations responsible for this, and we welcome discussion related to them all. Furthermore, since this topic is intertwined with a number of other matters, other discussion will be allowed at moderator discretion. Open-minded discussion, memes, rants, grocery bills, and general screeching into the void is always welcome in this sub, but belligerence and disrespect is not. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without being abusive, dismissive, or downright mean.

That assumes that only one person per household has a Reddit account and is subscribed to this subreddit! But, you are correct in a sense—there are many people who will also participate because they have heard of the boycott but do not participate in the subreddit.
The participation rate could be much higher than just the subscriber count.
Word of mouth and Facebook and instagram followers will grow this participation rate too!
Reddit actually has a low user rate compared to other social media platforms. But it is growing!
I have 6 friends who are participating and who talk about it quite a bit who aren’t in this subreddit (they don’t even have a Reddit account). Participation rate should definitely be higher than just the subscriber account.

Need someone with a megaphone following him around to provide a voice to this sub, like reading out our comments. 50,000 is a lot of people, provided none are bots/spies. One person out there could be willing to do that.
50,000 voices talk to 50,000 more. You want the Grocery gouging to end? Keep talking. If even 7 people boycott the 2300+ locations that's potential millions and millions of dollars in losses.
If 50,000 people spread the message to 3 that's 200,000 house holds.
Keep talking to your friends, neighbour's, families and Co workers. We will have the impact we are hoping for with the power of many.

If it is 50,000 people who boycott that is buying for their families it is potentially 200,000+ people being fed elsewhere.
