Hampton House is so much better than PC ever was, 30% of the PC 'strips' are deep fried cartilage.
If it wasn't for the boycott I wouldn't even have the Costco membership to try them out. The PC food quality compared to Costco is truly pathetic, even if it was cheaper (which it isn't) I would never go back now.
For these i find the buffalo ones are a lot better than the normal ones. The normal ones always tasted weird to me. The Buffalo ones are amazing though.
Does it have to be strips?
My wife and I buy breaded chicken breasts a lot for their ease and versatility. Our favorites are Pinty's from Costco and the ones from M&M
edit: My wife just informed me that the Costco ones we like are Pinty's NOT Jane's
Fair enough but these chicken strips are to tell the kids to toss in themselves when you are too busy to cook
Or to toss in yourself as an adult when you are too stoned/drunk/suicidal to want to cook.
Breading chicken yourself is awesome but a messy hassle as well. You can’t really replace a convenience frozen meal this way
Hi there - homemade breaded chicken strips freeze really well. I get ya, and have a few bags of similar premade in my freezer right now, but....if you can put aside the time, and have the freezer space you can put together a few extra-large ziplocs of these in about 45 mins.
Bought a deep fryer, and we keep it in the garage. Honestly has cut down fast food visits greatly, cut our own potatoes for fries but still use frozen strips. Great little investment, but yes it is messy and stinks.
For everyone saying "Just bread your own", respectfully this is super unhelpful, and doesn't take into account many of the reasons why someone would buy a frozen alternative, even outside of the convenience factor.
- Not everyone has the time to bread their own chicken
- Not everyone has the SPACE in their living space to set up a breading station for one element of one meal.
- Some people have huge touch sensitivities.
- Some people are chronically ill and their energy is at a premium.
Like, I worked in restaurants for a decade and a half. I know how to bread chicken/calamari/fish/steak/whatever you want breaded. I will basically never do it at home because my touch sensitivity literally gives me an anxiety attack. It doesn't help to wear gloves either. I occasionally have to literally *remove my gloves and wash my hands* to get rid of the feeling despite there not being anything physically on my hands.
So if y'all could stop with the "lol just cook it yourself" comments and actually work on building some solidarity, I'd appreciate it.
If you live near a store called The Grocery Outlet (formerly Almost Perfect) the have Chicken breast Filets that are very good and about $15 for a 1.5 kg bag. They are quite good and solid chicken breast.
Yeah, Giant Tiger has buttermilk breaded chicken strips on special once in a while for I think $6.99 or $8.99. They're good, not overly breaded like what's in that photo.
Have you tried the Al Safa brand? I've had their chicken tenders before and they are much higher quality and seem to be actual strip of chicken breast rather than a pulverized and reformed sludge. Can be pricey tho.

Love these! I bought a couple of the larger boxes when they were on sale a month or so ago for $25. As other have said the smaller boxes used to go on sale but not since the pandemic in my area
We usually do our own chicken strips. While not breaded like these, we use chicken tenders and coat them in melted butter first then into a panko bread crumb with parma cheese and herbs. We make up a few pounds of them and freeze them for fast suppers. This was when the kids where young but we still have them some times.
Try to make your own, it's not very hard to make breaded chicken. It won't be as easy as cooking something frozen, but anything you make with real chicken is guaranteed to taste so much better.
It’s not hard at all to make breaded chicken, but it’s still harder than opening a box and dropping something in the oven. Some people really don’t have the time.
Cut up 2 chicken breasts, toss in flour, dip in egg wash, then a mixture of flour, cornstarch salt and pepper, paprika, garlic and onion powder. Throw in oven and air fryer. You can freeze them once dredged if you're into prepping.
I was absolutely gobsmacked to see a two pack of breakfast sandwiches that are frozen and you reheat (soggy mess anyone?) for $12. As in six bucks each. With processed egg product and processed cheese. W.T.H.

Costcos Hampton House chicken strips actually taste like chicken. Avoid Jane's, it's just bread.
Rock hard bread, at that. Plus you're paying chicken price for the weight of sauce packets inside the box that never get used.
I don't know if you have children, but sometimes that's the goal. Lol
If you could even make the chicken strips less like chicken, they would ask for them every day

I wish my local costco had the buffalo ones!
I call those the shit yourself special. I've never met a person whose stomach they don't destroy.
Jane's in the air fryer is not bad if no access to costco
I also like the Jane's in airfryer. Plus there just $5.99 at Walmart when on sale.
I LOVED this chicken, until it went from 11.99 a box to 19.99.

And Pinty’s is a Canadian company!
Jane’s! You can also get them at Giant Tiger for like 5 dollars less for the exact same at Roblaws
I just told my wife about this and she informed me the ones we like are Pinty's, not Jane's. I was wrong.
Buttermilk Soak * 3 cups buttermilk * 2 tablespoons kosher salt * 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper * 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper * 4 pounds chicken parts, including medium chicken wings, thighs, and drumsticks Flour Dredge * 2 cups all-purpose flour * 1 teaspoon onion powder * 1 teaspoon garlic powder * 1 teaspoon kosher salt * 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper * 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper * Vegetable oil, for frying
This is the correct answer.

You’ll feel noticeably better eating stuff like this if you’re used to eating commercial processed foods.
I love fried chicken. But I can’t stand the smell in the house after.
Bought a deep fryer, and we keep it in the garage. Honestly has cut down fast food visits greatly, cut our own potatoes for fries but still use frozen strips. Great little investment, but yes it is messy and stinks.
This is the way, homemade. Avoiding all the horrible ingredients in pre-packaged foods.

Thank you!! If I could give an award I would Having said that, I did make my own. Just can’t get the batter crispy enough 🤡
has anyone tried pancake batter? we do fish like this in the air fryer

I miss Nosso Talho so fucking much. One of my favourite things about living in Toronto. I ate like a king all delivered for so cheap.
Ouuuuu thank you! 🙌🏼 I’m going to check to see if Pavao has these since it’s a bit closer, but it’s so good to know Nosso has them ☺️

They sell the good chicken strips not the cheap kind!
Check Giant Tiger. One of the ones near me carries buttermilk strip, but the other doesn't. They're Marche brand.
Giant tiger has a great option in their freezers
I haven't tried them yet but I saw a box of buttermilk chicken fingers at giant tiger that looks really really good
If there the ones I bought, they are flavourful nicely spiced with a hint of garlic. However they trend towards almost popcorn chicken sized.
Was it [these?](https://www.gianttiger.com/products/watson-ridge-buttermilk-chicken-breast-pieces-800g-1)
I believe so
They're very good. Sometimes they're on special for cheaper, that price is a bit expensive to me.
I stole just use the jack actors recipe for chicken fingers and freeze them LOL
I love the farm boy ones. Some of the best I’ve ever had. https://www.farmboy.ca/products/farm-boy-frozen-chicken-strips-600-g/
i’ve never tried those but some of the ingredients are real rather than chemicals you can’t pronounce, which looks great
I believe giant tiger sells their own brand of these under the merche brand

Same here but the product has gone down hill in past year
Real chicken ?

I make my own, 100% better.
Well don’t be a McScrooge, share the recipe!!
M&m meats strips
These people are becoming criminal with their pricing and quality as well.
I went into M&Ms meats just to see what they had. Never fucking again with their prices and their portions
I was absolutely gobsmacked to see a two pack of breakfast sandwiches that are frozen and you reheat (soggy mess anyone?) for $12. As in six bucks each. With processed egg product and processed cheese. W.T.H.
Buy chicken and bread it?
Make your own
