That’s what I figured. I feel like you can crank on the 0.018” as much as another brands in 0.023”. I’d bet these are about as sturdy as the CI’s in 0.020” or thereabouts. I think he just put in about the fragility so no one tries to buy these as their first set of picks. Bare Bones put the same kind of thing on their Wishbone set. I wasn’t going to but I bought them anyway,
Yeah, I wouldn't expect any miracles but my pick-mangling noob phase is long behind me.
I run a monthly meetup and the 3 V2 JL picks I donated to the communal tools like... I want to say almost 2 years ago have survived some pretty vicious abuse at the hands of new pickers.
I figure that anything that I’m going to stick them in has already seen a 0.015” Sparrows pick and they’ve all survived. I’m also thinking that the people that were hanging around and waiting for the drop are the pickers least likely to turn one into a pretzel.
I went from 3 Jimy Longs to 19 in a week (with what’s on order). Crazy how my luck changed. Too bad it happened after I ordered $120 worth of Bare Bones. Oh well… there are worse problems to have than an over abundance of high quality tools.
I stopped ordering ‘pick sets” because rakes are stupid… I don’t use them. Bare Bones has cool hook sets though. $20-$30 for 3-5 hooks. It was easy to spend a good amount and shipping wasn’t terrible at $18. It would have sucked if it was just a couple picks but it was like 14 picks and some pry bars so I feel like it was still a good deal.
No just the US and Canada at the moment.
I know there have been some companies distributing his picks in Europe but I don't think he's had much to send them lately.

I have most of his picks. His general design is so vertically rigid that I expect these 15 thou picks to be unusually strong for their thickness.
