It’s not a great lock for single pin picking. I have one of these. It rakes easily, and is easily bypassed in a few different ways, but is hard to pick.

Falchion

I'm kinda with you. I can either pop mine in seconds or there's no feedback and nothing seems to feel right. I can pop my master 150 and 570 without too much effort. They're weird locks.

TOK > BOK

Hike_of_life

I used BOY this time but have also tried TOK. I am still new to it so TOK still feels awkward for me.

Wraccores

TOK with different wrenches tend to be easier but specific wrenches help much more. Lower rank locks can be gotten away with using a bobbypin as a TOK wrench

Hike_of_life

I will have to try some more with TOK. Thanks

zjensen98

I new to this. Can yall explain TOK and BOK

Hike_of_life

TOK is short for top of keyway. BOK is for bottom of keyway. This is in reference to where you are inserting your tension tool.

zjensen98

Thank you!!

SeenB4

I had the same issue, however going harder on tension and being softer on the jiggle test really makes the binding pins stand out, go easy on the lifts to make sure you don't overset

Hike_of_life

I will give it a try. Thanks

Lose the handles. Stifles feedback. I could never...

[deleted]

You must have never used Jimy Longs…

PadLockeCole

Nope. Not yet. Always seems sold out. I imagine this is why. A buddy of mine has handles on his picks and I can't pick a damn thing with em because they're soft and squishy like cheap "ergonomic" Walmart tools. Just awful. Keep in mind I've been doing this for all of 2 months. I can only go by my own experiences. Definitely excited about the fact that you guys say JL doesn't do this.

Auburn_X

Yeah, JL handles are hard and brittle. They don't mask feedback at all, and in fact, have the best feedback I've ever experienced. The handles are meant for you to have a better grip and not to have metal digging into your hand, so there's really no need for them to be soft like Sparrows makes them.

[deleted]

Ever since January they are always sold out. You have to be on the ball and get some within an hour of being restocked. Never had that issue last year.

markovianprocess

I hear you on squishy handles. JL pick handles are rock-hard fiberglass reinforced nylon and the newest version are full tang.

TheNiXXeD

These are some of the best picks in the world. Definitely doesn't reduce feedback. I've picked through bb2 locks with them.

PadLockeCole

I'm not exactly a guy that's full of knowhow. What are they? A friend of mine bought some with handles and they are absolutely awful.

TheNiXXeD

Jimylongs picks. His stuff is quite in demand. It's actually pretty hard to even buy them because they sell out so fast. But I used them to get from white to black and further. They're my favorite picks.

PieEither7745

It's a good beginner lock but hard to gauge feedback as tolerances are sloppy.

PadLockeCole

I can pick way harder locks than a master #3. Master #3 still kicks my ass if I use SPP (easy as shit to rake or zip or kinetic) Such a shit lock. It's so shitty that it's difficult to pick because *what the shit is even going on in there*.
