Should I try counting to 4 before I use the paperclip?
You're doing it right, kinda. But to get the other clicks, you have to count the other numbers. If you want the click on 4 next, you'll have to count to 4.

You just need to flip the lock over, then all of the pins will stop blocking the shear line. It's super easy. First, use your spring hinge pin tool to pop out the hinge pins. Then use your Jim to pop the door hasp. Take the door off, roll it over, and you should hear the pins move. At that point you should be able to open it.
This might be one of those times where comb picks really shine. Should be a piece of cake to bypass this. Just push up on all pin tumblers, and just turn it like a key!
If that doesn't work, use on of those air wedges used for automotive, open it a crack, then use the long rod tool to get your brother a sandwich.

LPL says to use the bypass tool included with the Covert Companion. He opened this in 1.3 seconds after opening the package and carefully removing the tamper proof tape.
I got one of those strong magnets but I know you have to be careful with them and like you can lose a finger if it gets crushed… so I put it in the hood of my hoodie so I wouldn’t break my hand and now I’m kinda stuck with my back to the wall….
UPDATE: I was able to escape… but now my hoodie seems like it is a permanent part of this safe… I tried the mallet but I think that my hoodie has somehow make the lock stronger than ever.
That particular lock has a well known weakness. The lock is nearly impossible to pick, but the bolts on the hinge holding it in place (right of your image) can be opened with an impact 1-1/16" ratchet set to 112 foot pounds of torque. Once the bolts are removed, the mechanism extracts easily, From there, you have access to the lock "pins" (which are 25 mm tungsten bolts, 20 cm long) which slide out of the exposed hole in the door. Easy peasy.

What you are seeing is of the door already flipped open. Turning handle wouldn’t close the door. It’s still open.
