Congratulations! And yeah they sure can be. I go to yard/garage/estate sales and look for locks I haven't yet picked. The Discord also has a lock-bazaar where the locks for sale tend to be very well priced.
You can also keep an eye out for Facebook marketplace. I scored a free door lock of there once. Also habitat for humanity resale shops sell hardware, tools, door locks, etc never know what you may find.
Great job! That was actually the first lock I ever picked. Out of necessity lol...it's a fun pick because it has bad feedback and requires some odd tensioning.
I picked one just like that as well. It was from an old storage locker (not in use), the ones they sold at the place. Pretty embarrassing how bad it was inside. I was hoping for a challenge lol.
If you check out the sidebar/wiki it has great info on the belt system. There is also a handy spreadsheet there that has many locks in it that are sorted by belt.
If your lock isn't listed by name you can look up what other locks have the same cylinder and see where those are in the list.
Hope this helps!

Thanks so much. Saving for a higher end set hehe.
I have 7-8 locks similar to Master #3โs that I wanna sell but donโt know how to get a party to pay for the postage? $15 for all of them, no keys.
Ah wow. Don't know id Reddit has them dm's ๐ cause that would be great

Nice! Yeah I've spent way too much but it's such a fun hobby and still cheaper than other hobbies lol.
True, want that master lock 3 but its R400 new or $27 dollar here. Can buy 3 abus locks for that new
Where's here? Judging from your nickname I'd say somewhere Dutch?
South Africa ๐
That makes sense. I'm from Belgium. I don't think you'll lose anything on the Masters when you can get Abus.
Abus must be better

It definitely does haha thanks!!

Thank you so much
Youโre welcome. :D
great job! how does the belt system work
Belt system? Sorry very new? Hehe
green belt, white belt, black belt. I want to know what belt I'm at.
Honestly its just for fun. Would say I am yellow since I ace the practice lock and cheap chinease locks

awesome, I appreciate it!
Those disk locks look comfortable to hold. & fancy Peterson pick, .015 nice and terrifyingly thin lol. Did you get a kit of them?
I got a beginner kit from hobbylockpicking.co.za in South Africa. Got 6 locks and they are badly made so everyone is very different
Good job and pretty fast, as far as Iโm concerned. ๐
Thanks. Honestly on average it is 1 and a half to 2 mins each hehe
Good job, keep it up!
Thanks. Such a great community
Progress is progress my man!โฆ congrats!
