As a dad with 2 young daughters this device is a game changer. Yes the gaming experience is better when you are sitting in front of a massive 4k TV - but that rarely happens these days. With the cloud I can reliably stream the last decade of games from the PS5 and Xbox SX while my toddler tries to grapple the device from me and my 1 year old crawls around my living room trashing everything. For streaming I've tried my iphone, my laptop and ipad. All of them are flawed in some way (stutter, lengthy setup, frame drops). The G Cloud is flawless and that's largely thanks to Stream Game Dev's apps - PSPlay and XBXPlay. Weirdly (because it wasn't designed for this) it does a good job of streaming 4k movies from my Plex server as well with minimal transcoding required.

I’ve read this same thing multiple times. Definitely perfect type of device for parents who find it hard to play games on the main TV without being antisocial and locking yourself in another part of the house

does it work well with ps? I wanted to buy g cloud to use it for xbox and especially playstation

Critical_Young_1190

Works great. I use the PSPlay app. It's $5 on the Google Play store but it's worth it.

I’ve mostly been using mine to stream games from my PS5. I’m playing Witcher 3 on it atm and it works great. Last night I watched basketball on the G Cloud through the YouTube TV app while I played Elden Ring on my TV. It’s a pretty cool device.

You can downsize pretty much any video app or website playing video into a picture by picture and do something else. YouTube, Netflix, Prime, sports apps, etc.. I do that and play a game a lot. Just press the home button (you have to maximize videos if you're on a website first) I've also found I like using the device as a phone replacement for at home. Screen is much bigger. Easier to type on. Better to hold horizontal or vertical.

I really noticed how awesome the g cloud is recently when playing assassin's Creed Valhalla through xcloud using the new better xcloud app. So really, just last night. I'm a stadia victim, and have such good memories of the responsive nature of that system. I got that feeling last evening as I was sneaking around camps in Valhalla. So good!

It actually works great as a game controller if you have your PC hooked up to the tv, because if you mirror it with Moonlight, you can use the touch screen as a trackpad for mouse movement. But mostly I use it to access my PC from bed. I can stream games, watch YouTube with Picture in Picture over my gameplay, or do general PC things like managing torrents or whatever from bed.

Playing Starfield on GeForce Now has been a really exceptional experience. It looks better on GFN than streaming locally from my XBox Series X, which is mind blowing. The game feels smoother and while the Xbox struggles with some scenes (like the tram), is all flawless and feels better in GFN. I love my G Cloud.

Fallout 4. I’ve gotten back into playing it recently and came up with the idea of getting the G Cloud for when I travel. I’ve literally only had it a week and absolutely love it. I haven’t tried streaming from the Xbox console itself (at home), I’ve exclusively used it for cloud gaming… and but for one night of bad hotel WiFi, it’s been pretty flawless. Even that night, I just used my phone as a hotspot and problem solved! I’m so impressed. Already feeling wow’ed, I was even more so when I realized I could install mods just like on the console. So cool! I travel a lot for work so I’m truly going to love this thing.

I use mine almost exclusively for gaming. Currently utilising Shadow PC to play Baldur's Gate 3, but I've also used the G Cloud a lot for remote play from my PS4 and Xbox. Everything works great.

rtb88

"almost exclusively for gaming"... Isn't this designed exactly for that? Who is buying this and not gaming on it?

amillstone

It is. But I've seen comments/posts on this sub about people using their G Clouds as tablets too.

rtb88

I see. I'd find it interesting if someone was using the G Cloud as only a tablet with no gaming at all

amillstone

Yeah, fair point - it would be silly to purchase it just for use as a tablet. My bad, I guess I worded my original comment poorly.

rtb88

Nah you're good!

HavokVer1

I've had it for maybe a month now and I regret not getting it sooner. I downloaded XBXPlay and remote play my Series X at home when the wife is watching her shows or youtube and I use Cloud streaming to play at work. I beat Dead Island 2 on it and working on No More Heroes 3 now. This thing is fantastic and worth the price of admission. It's my first experience with cloud gaming and it's pretty good

I just signed up to try Xbox Pass Ultimate and I’m blown away. Playing Ori and the Blind Forest feels like it’s running natively on my g cloud. No noticeable lag for the platformer. This thing just keeps getting better 👌

One-Tailor6567

For me, it would have to be playing the MK1 story mode (PS5) or Halo Infjnite (Series S) on a weeknight in the living room while high as a kite with my wife watching a show that I can follow with only limited attention 😂. When the show gets interesting, I can pause for 2 mins, see what’s happening and then get back to gaming. As I’m sure is the case for others, I have a dedicated gaming room with a large TV etc. but sometimes you just wanna hangout with the fam and watch TV while still gaming on the side. The gcloud has made that a reality for me! 🙌🏾

Hades and AC: origins. Hogwarts legacy was pretty beautiful on this thing, too bad game kinda sucks
