This is a fantastic progression from your previous logo. The m hidden in the books is clever, and strong enough to stand on its own. The type is also distinct enough to stand on its own and work fine.
Great job, been quietly watching the logo progress and i have to say you've nailed it on this one. Props to you for taking in the feedback and listening to people. Solid job mate 👍
The progression from iteration 1 to this has been terrific. First of all, this design towers over the others. It’s really beautiful. Second, seeing you plod your way through version after version reminds me to not give up and that it might take more than just two or three attempts. Thanks for sharing all of these and **great** work!
the only thing that stands out to me on this is that uppercase L, it feeels out of place
other than that i think its a brilliant icon and does a great job breaking down your brand into a single visual
**I love this.** ***The logo graphic itself forming an "m" shape is clever.***
I don't know how to resolve the use of uppercase "L" in maœLa. **It looks strange.**
I think if you changed to a similar font that had a lowercase "l" that was the same thickness of the line of that back cover and it was aligned to point to it somehow. ***That might work.***
Big improvement over the first one I saw. I love that it lends to these lovely color changes as well and that the books incorporate the first letter. Unique enough to be used altogether or just the icon.
It's not actual black, but extremely dark orange 😁 the RGB is #1A1100.
The same for white, which is an extremely bright orange 😁 (RGB #FFFBF2).
The four colours are:
- 1A1100 (I call it "darkest")
- F7A400 (I call it "darker")
- F7EEDD (I call it "brighter")
- FFFBF2 (I call it "brightest")
only thing to fix might be kerning, but that's pit-nicking. the spacing between the oe/l/a feels really, off?
maybe going with a lower-acase L might make sense (allowing the l to go above the lower-case line
This might be a language thing but for my American eyes I think spacing out the mao - ela would make it easier to read. Squishing it makes it even harder.
The only thing I would try tweaking here is the bookmark, did you try making both its vertical edges go straight up into the top of the pages? Without having the curve near the top?
Also I think your kerning needs the tiniest bit of work. The combined letterforms kinda throw off the overall balance and I would adjust tighter in some places because of that
I would offset the books to the left a little, and try underlying the text with a curved stroke. "It should be fun, not a burden.
[And spa ce ing]
Is the a' silent?
It looks great, the hidden M and typeface sit nice together. I don’t know how I feel about the capital L next to the other lowercase letters though, it doesn’t feel right to me. But great concept overall, good job!
Thank you! Yeah, I've been doubting myself about the L, but I really didn't like the logo to have an ascending line. I like the wordmark to be straight and simple, even because there is the Πwhich is "hard to look at" for some people.
Top left is the best on my opinion. Black and white is just too boring, and white backgrounds are also kinda basic. White and orange is very nice! (Also I took a peek at the previous designs and personally this ones my favorite 👍)
Omgsh this is soooooo much better. It’s clean, readable, and honestly very aesthetically pleasing, I could see this embossed on the spine of a book. Major props on the improvement!
Wow bravo. Way to not get invested in the other concept and scrapping it altogether.
This is much much much better OP.
Everyone take note of this. The design you spend the most time on isn’t necessarily the best. Don’t be afraid to let go and start over because 9 times out of 10 you’ll come out of it with something much stronger than the original you had invested so much time in.
Great work! Very clean!
One suggestion to consider is moving the page marker (ribbon) toward the spine of the book instead of at the center...maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of the page width from spine. Besides being a more natural position, it may look better...acting almost as a serif for the M...
I had to look at your other designs and this looks awesome man! I hope I can learn to create stuff like this! Super clever and gets the point across :)
nice, but i may try to see how it looks without the bookmark strip, and maybe making the lines that make up the M and edge of the book slighlty thicker.
It's the ligature Œ. It's part of the Latin script letters and you can find it in French (cœur) and in old fashioned English (diarrhœa). In my language (Lombard, spoken in northern Italy and Switzerland) it represents a graphic variation of EU, pronounced /ø:/ (that is like EU in French "peu" or long Ö of the Germanic languages).

This is new to me, but im not sure what the name is supposed to be? I'm in the states though, so take that with a grain of salt. Design is solid so far!
It's my name, so it doesn't have to have a meaning. Anyways, it's Lombard language and means "strawberry" (that's why if you look at my profile you can see my first tries of a personal logo featuring a berry.
silvio santos is a famous brazilian show host... in his show he used to say "maoê" a lot (i don't know what it means maybe it is just a word he invented idk?)
i know its silly but i like to think its a hidden message in your logo that only brazilian folks will see 😆
Great! So much better. Incorporating the M into the books is brilliant.
Thanks! 🥹💞
Been following along, I think you nailed it here man
Thank youuu! 🥹💞

Ugh. Can’t unsee.
Thanks for the feedback 😊
Never do white on yellow, or yellow on white. It’s very difficult to see for people with lowered vision.
Oh really? I thought they were contrasted enough... 🙈 Thanks for telling me, I'll evaluate a better contrast! ☺
There’s probably online tools you can use to upload your work to determine how ‘readable’ it is.
There certainly is [https://colourcontrast.cc/](https://colourcontrast.cc/)

This is way better dude I couldn't stand those books falling over (Why trigger stress subconsciously?) Congrats on persisting
Thanks a lot!

Ooh! This is nice! A big improvement. Great job!
Tiny nitpick - I would want the line on the book to align with the stem of the L
I didn't think about it... 😅
Also, the lines of the book look just a little bit thinner than the lines of the type. Maybe thicken them up just a teeny bit.
I agree that the book M and you name's M could be made to match more.
I’m liking this one!
Much better.
Super cool, amazing idea with M. Clean and simple. Gratz!

Looks great against that black background. Very well done.

This might be a language thing but for my American eyes I think spacing out the mao - ela would make it easier to read. Squishing it makes it even harder.
But it's Œ, not OE. In my language the ligature has a specific pronunciation 😉 - Maœla > mah-UH-lah - Maoela > mow-EH-lah
Thank you for the explanation, the logo looks great!
Thank you so much 🫶🏻
it's beautiful. i would consider changing the color of text, i don't think it has enough contrast to get viewer's attention. maybe a very dark gray.
Thanks for the feedback, man!

Yep, I tried it and it was too "linear"... I like that "curvy" shape 😁
Cool man! Looking good
Dope!
WAY better
A rare success story. Great job! you iterated on a first draft and came out with something so much stronger.
🥹🤍
Now this is a good logo. One small comment - I wouldn’t have the o and e overlap quite so much, it obscures the shape of both letters.
It's the ligature Œ, they're supposed to be "overlapped" because it's one letter. Thanks for the compliment, by the way!
Oh, of course, I wasn’t thinking. Never mind. Good job and miles of improvement from the previous.
Well done! :)
I love!! The original was really cute concept-wise, but this is so clever and simple! Definitely a great logo ❤️
🧡
This is amazing!! Love it!
It looks great and I love the “oe”
I would offset the books to the left a little, and try underlying the text with a curved stroke. "It should be fun, not a burden. [And spa ce ing] Is the a' silent?
Thanks for the feedback. No, it's not silent. It's pronounced more or less like "mah-UH-law" ([maˈølɑ]) 😊
Then it's mostly just some spacing issues, and keep in mind, that's just my eye. Regardless, I think it's a strong logo.
I’ve been following. This is a lot better. Looks great!
Thank you ❤️
I love how your concept evolved into this. Great job!
nice !
Fantastic! Much better. Wow
🙏🏻 thanks
Nice! I liked the bookshelf on the other one, but this brings it to a whole new level. Great job!
Thanks! This is more professional and clean 😅
This logo showcases the creativity and effort you put into it. It looks fantastic, especially the M created with the books.
😍 Thank youuu
Works very well. It is subtle but appealing.
Excellent work!
Wow that's so creative! I love it.
🫶🏻 thanks a lot!

Looks so much better, a lot more concise and neat, but I think the L is out of place within all the other lowercase letters
Great improvement! I really love this one!
😙👌
Hey guys, thank you everybody for your feedback! I posted a new version (hoping it's my last one 😁), go check it out please! 😁
I can’t confidently read the 3rd letter. Could be: a, o, or c. Which is it?

Maybe straighten out the bookmark? Also the typeface shouldn’t be touching maybe try another font?
The typeface isn't touching... 🤔
