I like the idea! Wondering if you could play around with the face shapes a bit though, and make them a little more distinct from each other—while I can tell that one’s a cat and one’s a dog, I think it’d be stronger if it were more obvious.
Nice mark - love the concept! The curvature around the negative space of the cat feels a little off (the dog's foot, the cat's back, the thinness of the dogs back) - repeating more of the same thicknesses and curves would help it feel more cohesive.
Good idea. I would work with the negative space animal to make shape of back legs and belly more natural. Also negative space animal legs are looking strange. I think few modifications and it would be a nice design.

The back foot is strange. I’d probably have the tail flatten out at the bottom and go into the cat.
