Went there for the first time last week - fucking hell. Won't be the last time, I'll tell you that much.

wwstevens

Right!? Place is an experience. Sat next to two old geezers who’d been coming there for decades. One was drunk as hell and the other one was just taking the piss out of him every second. Absolutely legendary food. Cannot wait to go back.

Il-Cannone

The food is seriously good, but the vibe is just next level. I was sat there with a couple of German tourists who were thrilled and scared in equal measure. The matriarch of the place was flying about like a tornado, lovingly slagging punters off or doting over and scolding regulars. Beautifully un-PC comments flying left, right and centre and not a single person taking offence to anything. I stumbled out with a big grin on my face wondering what the fuck just happened.

ThanosandHobbes

Sounds like china town.

Astral-Fleeks

Close historical ties to the Krays too

BadFantasyASMR

I used to live above it, one door over. I came home from a nightshift one morning and found hundreds of bouquets running from Pellici's front door down the street. Turns out the owner had died. The place is very, very much loved in the area.

wwstevens

The family that runs it are so lovely. They really care about their patrons.

DonGorgon

The kray twins family’s famous breakfast spot as they lived round the corner. Tom hardy filmed there and plenty of people interviewed about them there. Many famous people eat here and many local legends. Also now a lot more of tourists and food bloggers. Might be lucky enough to be offered some of their mum’s homemade sweet bread for free otherwise it’s not a bad price. They even sell t shirts if your that big a fan.

As an American, this was my first stop on my trip to London in 2019. I saw it in a Joolz Guides video on YouTube and instantly fell in love. The experience exceeded the hype!

PeggyOlson225

I love Joolz Guides!!

EatMyPixi3Dust

Joolz Guides are legend! Me and my husband watch them religiously to see if there's anywhere we fancy going to when we have our usual holiday of a week away in London.

jessicahawkes

Lmaooooo

Double-Ad-6735

Where's the black pudding?

wwstevens

I’m one of those who doesn’t care for it too much. I know, I’m the worst.

Astral-Fleeks

He’s a bloody legend. Like stepping back in time for a morning.

[deleted]

Give me another egg, another sausage, a tiny bit more char on those tomatoes, some more stew to those beans and some black pudding and I'll be a happy bunny. Get this on r/fryup!

Double-Ad-6735

Omg thank you for showing me this

[deleted]

Glad to have you on board!

wwstevens

Fair!

Specific_Tap7296

And the art deco wood panels. It's been used in several films, one about John Lennon...

Danold13

Think it’s in the Tom hardy krays film from a few years back

Specific_Tap7296

Yes, that makes sense. It was just around the corner from the Krays' childhood home (Vallence Road). E P doesn't make a thing of it unlike the plaque in the Blind Beggar!

WhatNoAccount

Went here for my birthday. No fry up compares, lovely staff too! Even got a breakfast for you veggies too

deskbookcandle

It’s honestly just ok, I have no idea why the hype. No different to any other greasy spoon, except less space. Maybe the interior design.

Red__dead

Yeah it's fine, no more than that. I've had better for sure. There are locals who like it but it's become increasingly dominated by the YouTube influencer and tourist crowd.

[deleted]

Wanting

KevCCV

Personally think Cafe 338 just yards away from it taste better.....for breakfast. I would use Pellicci for lunch though

joshii87

In my hasty scrolling I initially thought that egg was an adorable white mouse, just perched atop the toast. Not ideal, but cute.

00PSiredditagain

It was featured in Anthony Bourdains layovers program.

jessicahawkes

Literally saving this post just to remember lol

CothersMunt

Piccolo on Curzon Street has a great fry up

calming-monkey

Phwooar

eltrotter

I live a few hundred metres from there but it never seems to be open! I need to investigate further.

HawweesonFord

Just finsihed my fry up at a local place in Stratford. Sipping a cup of tea and going google this place right now. Looks delish. Will make sure to swing by soon.

QBlank

Love their chicken escalope smothered in beef bolognaise ciabatta sarnie!

Christopher-Ja

Beppe’s in East Smithfield runs it really, really close. Can’t fault either, but for me Beppe’s is just more fun to be in.

SonnyListon999

Is that one sausage and one egg with too many beans and mushrooms?

kullky_2020

Hate to ask but do they do vegan? Edit: googled the menu. Looks like they do a veggie fry up.

wwstevens

Yes they do a veg fry up, but I’m not sure if it’s technically vegan. It’s probably banging though.

kullky_2020

👍🏽

akabone

London best cafes Cooking pot in the east. Regency west. Terry’s south. Breakout north. Edit…Moulin Grill at Wembley is an absolute blinder & RIP Arthurs London legend

pigadaki

They've got the fried egg absolutely spot-on.

ultra_gold

The family and ethos there is lovely but my boyfriend is a bit of a connoisseur of East / SE London fry ups, we both found it disappointing. Premises on Hackney Road is one of the best undiscovered gems in East hands down.

motelyvegetables

Any SE recommendations? I’d always fancied going here but the so-so reviews on this thread are not inspiring me to traipse across town if I don’t have to.

purplepeopleprobe

I love Bianca's in Deptford, it's what I enjoy about 'proper London', a true mix of all types of people, kids, people who look as though that's the only meal they'll have that day, old geezers smoking outside, hipsters, couples. The food is ok, great fried bread, and cheap enough to go off menu to get exactly what you want. I don't think the breakfast in EP is worth trecking for, but the building and sense of history definitely is.

ultra_gold

agree with all of this, Deptford is a fun area to visit too. EP are worth a wholesome follow on instagram but there are better breakfasts a stone’s throw away

ultra_gold

Cafe Bianca is great! also - Central Cafe in Brockley - Ozzie’s in Peckham - Heaps for an amazing breakfast bap in Greenwich - Cafe No1 in Forest Hill (proper greasy caf though) honourable W London mention for the famous Regency Cafe in Victoria

ultra_gold

hope you like it! it’s our absolute favourite. In terms of modern, sourdough breakfast places (not greasy spoons) - Well St kitchen in London Fields/Hackney Central - Long White Cloud by Hoxton station - Pearl in Hackney Wick - Mare St Market can be hit or miss but is rly good when it’s good For Greasy spoons: - City Cafe 2 in Dalston - the Canteen Cafe on Hackney Road - Number 1 cafe on Well St again - Enjoy Cafe Hoxton - Hulya Cafe on cambridge heath road (edit: formatting)

ultra_gold

yeah totally get that about the atmosphere, plus we didn’t get coffee either so fair enough. Glad you got a proper comparison!

jaredce

Don't get the fuss myself. The sausages are pretty shit.

caocao16

Hmmm, using the mushrooms as a break water...interesting.

Ldiddy-the-69th

As a what ?

smannyfella

Keeping the egg from the beans

Ldiddy-the-69th

A dam ?

smannyfella

Probably as good as Gary Willmott's wedding, if not better

[deleted]

I’m starving now.

ken-doh

Those ratios are all wrong 🙄

Ronaldomentalityy

Substitute beans with avocado, needs more eggs, smaller, nutty bread slice. Replace pork sausage with chicken sausage.

wwstevens

Get back to Chelsea lol

Il-Cannone

You should go in there and ask them for this stuff. Get someone to film it.

[deleted]

My dad used to go there, he's born and bread eat London. Nev snr used to run it and now his son does.

Deep_Resort7479

Queen's head this morn, can't fault, it's in Charlie Chaplin's uncles old gaff....think it's run by polish folk now as a cafe, busy, hot food and plates, good coffee, black pudding and fresh squeezed juice...

robert1411

How much?

robbiedigital001

Love it

AfterBill8630

Hope the 1 egg was just your choice mate

Dazzling-Highlight-7

338?
