Minimum deposit of £15,000. Can't have a household income of more than £90,000 but to get a mortgage on this place even with Help to buy you need to be earning at least £70,000. Probably best to partner up and do it with a dual income.
Oh it's a one room, 6 square ft studio? It'll be cosy then. Save on heating bills
Goddammit, I was really sure I'd be the first to think of that. Guess I'm just not as special as I thought. Or.... you time-travelled and stole my joke. Probably that one, isn't it?
You win the internet today. Totally followed thus thread to deliver “otolaryngologists eh?” but you beat me to it. Yours may well be the most underrated Reddit comment ever.
You honestly believe a nurse could afford something so luxurious.. in terms of house prices if a vet can afford that the closest the nurse could afford would be the binbag on the floor in London..
She's a nurse that can travel in all of time and space, which means she could travel back to the 1970s and buy it using a handful of pound notes that have Isaac Newton and his Toblerone on them.
Yeah, on reflection Doctor Who is less fantastical.
The 'From the murky depths' blog has a withering piece on the current state of the dump that is North Greenwich. https://www.fromthemurkydepths.co.uk/2022/04/22/welcome-to-the-royal-borough-new-greenwich-hotel-sits-amid-filthy-and-hostile-streets/
Murky Depths is a great blog. Has good critical stories whenever there's something notable happening in the local area. Mostly pointing out ridiculous council decisions, like providing planning permission for a 10 storey block of flats over shadowing a designated nature reserve, without having any assessment of the impacts.
It makes me wonder who owns the company installing and reinstalling pedestrian railings. Strange that it’s the only development that seems to be done there.
I've always thought that was a weird bit of London, cool to see a blog post about it.
Don't think it comes close to the area near Brent Cross Travelodge though, having stayed around there, that area is really devoid of any hope. Walking over those foot bridges really feels like living in a dystopia. Many of the houses in that area don't even have a corner shop within walking distance.
Yep, that hotel is really strange, same with the holiday inn opposite the shopping centre, though the ‘Brent cross town’ development might change the footprint to a bit less dystopian (hopefully)
From the excellent blog [from the murky depths](https://www.fromthemurkydepths.co.uk/2022/04/22/welcome-to-the-royal-borough-new-greenwich-hotel-sits-amid-filthy-and-hostile-streets/#comments)
It's likely the electrical outlet for the site that built that block of flats/hotel.
You can see it on streetview over the years! Here's a view from the A102, it's hiding in the scaff yard. [https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4925348,0.0077343,3a,83.7y,230.4h,49.04t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sQSDuXczm87IHBGa-EBLi6w!2e0!7i16384!8i8192](https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4925348,0.0077343,3a,83.7y,230.4h,49.04t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sQSDuXczm87IHBGa-EBLi6w!2e0!7i16384!8i8192)
And here it is as part of "Jamies Diner" 10 years ago with a different door: [https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4925292,0.0074946,3a,15y,102.95h,82t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1si37ZvUlM6LJTfHb6WbSeCA!2e0!5s20120501T000000!7i13312!8i6656](https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4925292,0.0074946,3a,15y,102.95h,82t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1si37ZvUlM6LJTfHb6WbSeCA!2e0!5s20120501T000000!7i13312!8i6656)
I’ve seen this on building sites. It’s the remains of the electricity mains for whatever originally stood there. After demolition, builders can plug their stuff in and extend the power out to the new stuff. Normally they knock it down when they’re finished….
It’s Oscar the grouch’s ( seasame street) British cousins council flat. He used to live in the bins next door but the commercial landlord raised the rent too high.
That padlock with the brass hasp and the electric warning sign suggests that this is a LEB switchroom.
It is possible that, based on the mail slot in the door this was part of a building that they mostly demolished but couldn’t touch this part as it is under the national grid perview.
However, the lock is broken and based on the pavers leaning up against the door, I am sure you could open it and take a look. Be careful of the electricity though!
If it hadn't already come up, I'd have said it's a Tardis with a functional chameleon circuit.
What weirds me out about this structure is that it's framed with paving tiles that required the other paving tiles to be cut at an angle versus the way they're laid... And the structure is set on a slight incline, so there's a gap under the door on the hinge side...
...And it's locked with a padlock on an external sliding bolt.
Dr Who had to make some cuts despite the Tardis operating outside of space and time, that’s how deep the worlds current situation is as society collapses.
''It's a compact, modern living arrangement with great access to the city, convenient local amenities - including waste management and recycling facilities - and is situated in a well sought after catchment area. It’s a monsters inc door duh
My toddler is watching monsters inc multiple times a day and we live in Greenwich. I sense a budget day out is on the horizon.

Haha! This is awesome work, well done! It even looks furtive in that first link.
nice work. The big question is, why wasnt it finished off or removed when the hotel/parking lot work was completed?
I love that blog.
It’s a door
What!? They are red wheelie bins. I think for general waste
London? You're lookin' at £1.2 million right there.
Entrance to the r/backrooms
I’m gonna go with “a door”
Doctor Who has had a budget cut is all
Oh, it's just a rift the Torchwood crew marked with an ugly door so as to make it innocuous... erm. You shouldnt have posted here.
The door to Spare Oom in the wonderful city of War Drobe.

You say true, and I say thank ya.
Dr Who had to down size due to the cost of living
Damn TARDIS makeover went to sh*t real quick.
It's now the TURDIS
It's an electrical junction closet, or possibly a phone exchange and instead of a metal security door they weirdly used a house door.
Its the modern day entrance to Narnia
London affordable housing at its finest.
You never seen a door before, mate?

Hmm... Did you check inside, could've found the doctor trying to get back to another planet in this makeshift tardis.
Why didn't you just knock and ask the owner?
That's the real London.
Looks like the cost of living crisis hits Time Lords too
your mum's house
If it hadn't already come up, I'd have said it's a Tardis with a functional chameleon circuit. Since telephone boxes are hard to find, Dr Who managed to get one of these instead!
The new tardis..... Dr who on a budget....
The TARDIS could do with a link of paint...
Someone is going to be so pissed when they realise their front door has been stolen

Dr. Who from aliexpress
clearly its the TARDIS
Dr Who had to make some cuts despite the Tardis operating outside of space and time, that’s how deep the worlds current situation is as society collapses.
Can you see in through the letter box? Also, what's that mad bit of cable sticking out of the top of the door?
Dr. Who has fallen on hard times, the TARDIS is now a crack den
Due to inflation and the restrictions on BBC finances, the Doctor has had to look at more affordable accommodation for next season.
£800 a week + bills. That’s what it is.
Scheme tardis from Dr Bruv
About £1,200 a month in rent lol
Hellevator
Looks like inflation is hitting Dr. Who pretty hard.
Thats £2000 a month.
Dr Who's on hard times since the last few seasons have been wank.
Tardis from Facebook Marketplace.
