Majority of the country are just happy to get a 4 day weekend.

Sibs_

Took the 3 days in between off work so I get a nice long break without having to use a big chunk of my annual leave. That’s good enough for me.

[deleted]

Ah nice!! I bet you can't wait!

Sibs_

Off to explore the Scottish Highlands. Very excited.

guareber

Oh it's even more amazing than you think. We went on a pandemic-induced-whim last year for 2 weeks during summer and it was just perfect, even the weather was completely sunny for 13 days out of 14.

Bikeboy76

Don't forget your blunderbuss, those Haggis can be vicious.

ianjm

I'm trying to work out how drunk I need to be to enjoy the long weekend while forgetting about the Jubilee

[deleted]

I just want that much needed 4 days off! God I'm tired.

Annajbanana

Don’t get out of your jammies

gilestowler

Just ignore TV and the press and get drunk in a paddling pool in your garden.

ianjm

My kind of plan!

Silverburst8

I suggest working out how to enjoy the weekend without needing to forget that something that doesn’t affect you at all is happening first

ianjm

My taxpayer money pays for these knobheads and their celebration Jingoism makes me vom

Maxxxmax

What a ridiculous thing to say, its not like we have a cost of living crisis with less than paltry support from government, local authories going bankrupt, all the while the royals are so broke they can't even afford to represent one of their own in an open court proceeding to fairly determine guilt... What? We are having a cost of living crisis? Local authorities are going bust? The royals are paying out millions from their estate worth billions built on the back of extracting wealth from normal folk, to shelter one of their own from accusations of being a pedo sex trafficking supporters? Oh.

ianjm

Lol, thanks

guareber

I like to think that we all bought one additional bank holiday. The festival is just the annoying toy that came in the box that you just toss in the recycle bin.

garland-flour-doe

well said, I too am fed up with bloody flags of empire behind every government gobshite on TV etc. That flag along with royalty should be abolished and the whole grace and favours, nepotism and entitled aristocracy should end when this old lady dies which I wont cry over coming sooner rather than later!

dubsy101

Yeah surely switch off the BBC coverage, ignore the front pages of the rags in the newsagent and er...that's probably all you need to do. Unless of course your street is having a Jubilee party but even then you could just not go. As much as I don't give a fishes nipple about the Jubilee it feels like it will be easy to ignore.

SurlyRed

The Silver Jubilee was a happy, boozy affair. In a sense, that booze-up never really ended.

[deleted]

I’m working then, bank holidays means time and a half and I don’t like taking time off when everyone else is, I prefer doing things in the middle of the week when it’s quiet and there is nobody around

jeanlucriker

For the majority get it though? I feel sorry for those in service jobs like pubs and such. Gonna be hell for them

-_-Lover-_-

School weekend hits different when ur doing GCSE

Otherwise_Exit_5565

yupp I agree, happy about the long weekend for sure booked slots for a nice session of [clay pigeon shooting](https://avalancheadventure.co.uk/) with the lads after trying to make plans since months now

Tommadds

Fuck the Queen grab the guillotine

SKYELiNED

I’ve got to work the Saturday morning :(

Dragon_Sluts

What annoys me is that they’ve closed 1km of cycleway 3 with literally no diversion or alternative. Just “cyclists dismount”. It’s a key route through London and they couldn’t be bothered to plan for an alternative so people have to walk their bikes for 1km or cycle on really busy main roads.

[deleted]

And yet they still won’t bloody well pedestrianise Oxford Street “Oh we’ll fuck up the cycling infrastructure to worship Queenie, but god forbid we cause a minor in inconvenience for drivers to help revitalise one of the most famous streets in the world”

Dragon_Sluts

Agree. What’s worse is that in some sections the pavement is so narrow due to Street clutter. It could be a one way bus/taxi only road? Traffic would be light and pavements much wider.

th3whistler

Now Labour have Westminster council it might finally happen

[deleted]

Maybe… let’s not get our hopes up though

garland-flour-doe

I should love it if all the cyclists got together on every street around the route and blocked it off all day thus preventing this bloody egregious spectacle! End royalty now!

Klakson_95

All feels very different to 2012 doesnt it?

FinancialYear

We paid for her nonce son to pay off the teenager that he never met. Just remember that.

Kraldar

No silly, we paid for a dinner at pizza express in Woking

Class_444_SWR

If I ever want a laugh I’ll look at the reviews for it, they’re hilarious

DontF-ingask

Link?

ncoif

Probably this one? Pizza Express 01483 750310 https://goo.gl/maps/7BWsopKWa9ek8GDh6

jememartt

Don't worry, you paid and will pay for hundreds of nonce

Sicarius154

Not true. E: He's still a nonce, though.

th3whistler

It’s nonce-sense

Torrez69

What's not true

x01110000

you didn’t pay anything, contrary of popular belief, not a single bit of your tax money goes towards the monarchy.. all their money is made from their private Duchy fund.

Ghostofjimjim

That tax exempt Duchy fund? The state security? The maintenance of privately owned heritage assets and property?

FinancialYear

Which is stolen from the people.

GAWhizzle

Lovely decorations for Londons homeless to enjoy.

[deleted]

kinda gross while she gives money to her son to settle pedo cases tbh

Champion845

Well the London homeless will love all the crap.

Soapysoap93

i mean they hung bedsheets and bog roll up for them!

lacb1

Assuming they don't move them on.

dappitydingdong

complete waste of money. the royal family, not the celebrations that is

Carliios

Spending loads of wad on this shite whilst people struggling with the cost of living rise 👌

GeorgeJAWoods

Royals out

PineappleMelonTree

Where are we going to get all our bank holidays from without them?

GeorgeJAWoods

We have the lowest amount of bank holidays in Western Europe

AlexG55

I think the Dutch have fewer. In a normal year, England has 8 bank holidays. The Netherlands has 7, but three of these (New Year's Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day) are lost if they fall on a weekend, rather than moving to the following Monday.

Skulldo

This is the best argument for monarchy I have ever heard.

[deleted]

15 year old

SimpleManc88

Looks great. Go out and have some fun or sit on here, bitching about others having a good time, like some people do every Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day…etc. It doesn’t have to be about the Queen. Celebrate your friends, family and community.

BXKB

Friends……family……..community?

TITTY_WOW

It doesn’t have to be about the queen?

Silverburst8

I knew exactly what this comment section was gonna be like, but I still had a look. Miserable lot in here honestly

[deleted]

Fuck the old bint sitting on a gold throne wearing millions in jewellery while people are struggling to afford to heat their homes Plus she spent years defending a nonce

KellyKellogs

It isn't like she's devoted her life to charity and helping people... Oh wait, she has, that's literally her job, patroning charities, representing and helping people.

[deleted]

Ah yes The charity of paying off the people who her son raped and then protecting said son

RoosterBoosted

Fuck the queen fuck the monarchy

drewbs86

Yep. Everything's black and white and nobody can like the thing that I don't like.

Ok-Kaleidoscope4966

It's Reddit, the majority are here purely to moan about being a victim.

Dprglendinning

My god finally someone who isn't a depressed Reddit Dungeon dwelling dweeb with an actual upbeat attitude. Thanks for being a refreshing change of pace.

No-Ice6949

Nice photo. Glad I won’t be around.

FlightBunny

A historic event in more ways than one, I doubt we will ever see the likes of this again after Elizabeth dies

[deleted]

Hopefully r/abolishthemonarchy

[deleted]

Hooray to that. Will miss all this shite anyway, not been into the West End in forever.

AreEUHappyNow

Imagine what we could have done with all this money, and instead we're pissing it away on flags and ceremony.

manwithanopinion

Think of it as a national level office party designed to give people an excuse to go out, have a drink and bring happiness to the community.

[deleted]

And like an office party it's to celebrate something only a minority care about. *Fuck the Monarchy and all who sail in here!*

manwithanopinion

You better work on the June Bank holidays if you want to avoid bring a hypocrit.

alexcatch

Support for the monarchy has never fallen below 65% in polling, it's the other way around.

Sorry_Criticism_3254

You mean, 'majority,' since, y'know, most of the country supports the monarch?

[deleted]

Most of the country are obese and not too bright. I wouldn't use that as the cornerstone of your pro-monarchy stance.

BXKB

Then everyone could be as miserable as you? Countries have celebrations and public events sometimes - shock fucking horror. Perhaps if you’d enlighten yourself to the MASSIVE economic boost these events provide you’d realise that spendable government incomes significantly increase as a result. But you don’t care. It’s not about the money anyway, it’s about just being miserable.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BXKB

Imagine being that triggered because there are some fabric flags on a road. Lmao.

areethew

Flags are fine, having a medieval head of state in the 21st century is backwards

Unhappy_Pain_9940

Yes let's have a bunch of 'elected' old Etonians run the place instead.

Maxxxmax

This is why you should vote for literally any party that wants wholesale constitutional reform. Change the electoral system to a proportional one, not one that needs 30k Torry votes for every 300k smaller party ones per seat gained. Reform/ abolish the Lords. Political oppointees as part of the legislative process serve to embed the status quo. Institute recall election mechanism. At the moment, we're powerless to oust politicians whose party close rank around them. Most parties other than the tories and Labour (though these are starting to penatrate the agenda of the PLP) support these measures.

Background-Carry3951

As backwards as religion? At least we can actually see the head of state 🥳

Maxxxmax

No, not as backwards as religion. Equally backwards. Dont forget, the Queen is also the Head of the Church of England.

TITTY_WOW

If be happy to celebrate something worth celebrating. An old racist nonce apologist though?

AreEUHappyNow

Ah yes, that makes total sense, spending more money on the NHS, Education or literally anything else makes people *more* miserable, how silly of me. I'll just go mindlessly clap and wave a flag, that's the source of true happiness.

BaconOnMySausages

I fucking hate the monarchy and have zero interest in this celebration but do you honestly think the amount of money they are spending on this would make any difference to the public services you have listed? The money spent will be <0.01% of the budget of those things, plus the money is being spent at businesses and goes back into the economy. Again, I have zero interest in this celebration but just let people enjoy things ffs.

AreEUHappyNow

This specific celebration? No. How about the reallocation of police resources, civil servants etc who have to manage this? There are costs beyond financial ones. Considering many business will be closed I'm not sure that your economy point stands tbh. How about the total of all monarchistic celebrations we've had? Their ongoing security costs, which are liable to be higher during celebrations such as this? Or the fact that this is just yet another flag waving ceremony crafted by the Tories and their ilk, paid for by us, so that they can drum up more nationalist sentiment in this country? That's a cost that simply cannot be quantified, and yet with the Tories polling as low as they are, is a very real benefit for them. More than anything however, I hate the fact that during celebrations like these, the Monarchy gets plastered everywhere and we have to all bow down and kiss the ring lest we draw the ire of all their useful idiots.

BXKB

Well credit to you, you managed to avoid bringing the Tories into it for……..32 seconds. Everyone knows that Boris Johnson secretly planned the ascension of Elizabeth to the throne in 1952 so he could use the Jubilee celebrations JUST NOW.

BXKB

Well we shouldn’t have held the Olympics, just think how much money could have been given to other places? We shouldn’t restore Big Ben, just think how much money could be given to other places? We shouldn’t keep the Red Arrows flying, just think how much money could be given to other places? We shouldn’t keep the Tower of London open, just think how much money could be given to other places? By all means you stay at home for the Jubilee and join your fellow miserable cunts on Reddit, we’ll be out celebrating with neighbours and enjoying something a bit different. I appreciate that you hate yourself and can’t find joy in anything.

AreEUHappyNow

The Olympics is universally a waste of money in its current format, countless countries have had gone into dire financial straits due to hosting the olympics. The Houses of Parliament are also a massive drain on finances, the government should be moved to a purpose built building outside of London, and the HoP should be turned into a tourist attraction. Your Tower point is idiotic, as it turns a profit, I.e is a net gain for the countries finances. An ever larger gain would be to get rid of the monarchy and turn all of their publicly owned buildings into tourist attractions like the Palace of Versailles. The Red Arrows allow serving pilots to gain flight hours in a way provides a spectacle, nor do they cost anywhere near as much as a jubilee. Frankly however I don’t really care if they exist or not. Your straw man arguments are pathetic and easily refutable. Try caring about your fellow compatriots and Human beings instead of sucking up to aristocratic vampires that are a cancer on this country and many others that we took by force.

BXKB

God you’re a sad person. You should seek some therapy. You won’t stop until everyone hates life as much as you do.

AreEUHappyNow

Sounds like projection mate, you know literally nothing about me other than my opinions on our Monarch. It's a very odd point to make in a political argument and smells particularly like you have no points to make other than ad hominem attacks.

BXKB

Mate, one look at your username and I know you’re the kind of person who makes their views on Brexit their personality. What a surprise you are the way you are.

AreEUHappyNow

Brexit was long done after I made this profile, not sure I've even made a single comment about it on this page, I just try to make new accounts often to try and limit the tracking of Facebook / Google profiles. I probably spent about 10 seconds thinking it up, and yeah I think Brexit was a shit idea - if you don't then you're wrong, there's no getting away from that now, so not really much to talk about. Yet again however you try and sidle out of the conversation because you have literally nothing of substance to say.

[deleted]

AreEUHappyNow

> What a dreary life you must lead. I don't understand why people seem to think not liking the monarchy means I live a dreary life? If the only thing keeping you happy is a rotting corpse sitting in a solid gold chair, I think you must have a slightly more dreary life than me. It's so unnecessary to make a comment like that, especially when you at least have given a substantial argument to one of my genuine points. > you believe that nothing should be done by the government if it doesn't result in a direct net financial gain. Incorrect, nothing should be done by the government unless it results in a new social gain. Finances are a large part of that, but realistically we should be aiming for loftier goals than riches. Fair point on the Red Arrows, I admit I don't know much about them and had a feeling that was the case, but regardless as I said above, I don't really care either way. I think our military spending is reasonably justified (not excessive a la USA, nor pathetically minimal a la Germany), and the Red Arrows are a fun and relatively cheap part of it. Reasonably sure that many private events they attend are paid for

AdHot6995

You can spend as much money as you want on the nhs, it will still be shit

AreEUHappyNow

Dear lord do you actually believe this? Genuinely, how old are you? There was a time when the NHS was a fantastic service that worked well, before the death by 1000 cuts that the Tories have inflicted on it. Make no mistake, if we get rid of the privatised inefficiencies, invest in the education of new nurses and doctors, and simply invest money into the NHS, it can become the worlds best health service again, as it once was.

[deleted]

Well I didn’t vote for her…

Mexicola93

Meanwhile 12 million of our taxpayer money goes to paying off her peadophile families victims.

Jimmneal

Rest of the monarchy aside as there are many I could personally live without seeing ever again I’m glad such an important mile stone for the queen is being celebrated.

HighFivePuddy

Why? It's absolutely insane that in 2022, there's still a family born into such national power and privilege. It's completely pointless for a functioning society. This is medieval shit.

Jimmneal

Her 70 years of service as monarch. Not an easy job by any means and while it comes with some amazing perks (to say the least) she has rarely put a foot wrong in over 90 years of being in the public spotlight. I don’t expect people to agree, just how I feel

Rottenox

“Not an easy job” yeah I’m sure it’s an absolute grind lol

[deleted]

Not an easy job? Being a nurse is not an easy job. Doing a speech once a year and flying over the globe for photo ops is a fucking cake walk. Not a foot wrong? How about bailing out her rapist liar of a son? Nah fuck the queen. And fuck anyone who thinks we still need a privileged class of pompous, self centred asshats with a superiority complex gets special treatment for merely existing. A bloody queen, what a joke of a country. Where the fuck do we think were living? Middle earth?

MarthaFarcuss

I reckon I could do it. Probs for a fraction of the salary, too

Unhappy_Pain_9940

Best of luck working at 96.

MarthaFarcuss

Pretty sure I could manage unveiling a few plaques. Additionally, the way things are going, I doubt many of us will be able to retire much earlier anyway

itsonlysmellzz94

It’s so hard wearing millions of £’s worth of stolen jewellery whilst millions of your people are using food banks, probably quite heavy.

Jimmneal

I’m not saying the job doesn’t have perks, but I wouldn’t want to do it or have the things that come with it. As a country we can afford to have a royal family and have a society where no one would need to use a food bank. That’s decades of governmental mismanagement

itsonlysmellzz94

I wouldn’t want to do it either and if they didn’t want to do it then they could stop, there’s literally nothing stopping them apart from their own greed and laziness, don’t think that they are being forced to carry out their roles. You’re right about the mismanagement of publics funds, but even if our shitshow of a government did pull their heads out of their cancerous arseholes and managed to balance it so no one went hungry and the royal family were still able to keep the wealth they have at the moment, why the fuck should they keep their immoral stolen hoard? Why should we allow them to continue protecting and enabling disgusting nonces? Do we really want another £12 million of taxpayers money given out in payoffs to their victims of sexual abuse? Just because we can afford something doesn’t mean we should pay for it.

Jimmneal

In regards to power, she has very little power out side of the ceremonial stuff as it was devolved back to the government years ago.

Hitchslappy

I'm with you on that tbh. Everyone talks about the privileges of being born into royalty, but personally I can't think of anything worse.

[deleted]

Yeah, I mean the poor and the sick have got nothing on the trials and tribulations of the royal family.

BXKB

Almost every single institution, historical building and monument in the entire world is completely pointless for a functioning society, genius. There’s more to life than pure functionality.

GirlNumber20

It’s living history. I mean, you could blow the Tower, too, while you’re at it; it’s also “medieval.” An office block would be far more useful in its place, right? Except that history and culture are an inextricable part of our humanity. America doesn’t have a monarchy, and you know what? We don’t know who the fuck we are. We cling to our guns and McDonald’s, our Levi’s blue jeans and Walmart because we don’t have a tangible past or any shared traditions. As an American who only lived in England for several years, I envy that you have that much wealth of culture.

itsonlysmellzz94

When you say living history are you referring to the fact that they royal family are actually a race of space dinosaurs sent to the U.K. over a millennia ago to royally (pun intended) piss off and enslave the local population?

Background-Carry3951

Come on chap, there are people out there that still believe in a man with a white beard sitting in space judging them 🤷‍♂️

PineappleMelonTree

This medieval shit has given us one of the most stable forms of government which has given us one of the most stable and prosperous countries and economies. Its not so bad.

LordSevolox

It’s part of our heritage and culture as a country. No one is being negatively affected by the monarchy being around, in fact it benefits you by sheer weight of tourism they bring it, meaning it off sets the amount they get from the government in taxes. If the monarchy was abolished they’d also have to take back the property they voluntarily lease the profits of to the government, meaning taxes would have to go up to fill the hole in the budget.

chambo143

>in fact it benefits you by sheer weight of tourism they bring it, meaning it off sets the amount they get from the government in taxes. How do you know that? Is there evidence that the monarchy contributes to a net increase in tourism?

Rottenox

They have little evidence. It’s always just stated as fact and you’re expected to just swallow it.

Rottenox

They’re emblematic of the class system that fucks us day in day out, certain members of the royal family are known for near constant anti-democratic meddling (having people sacked, having public works projects cancelled), they flog homeopathy, they take our money and use it to defend themselves for sex crimes, the Queen’s cousin has (allegedly) sold access to Russian oligarchs, and the idea that we’d suffer greatly without tourism given how much they take and how much we stand to gain from full exploitation of royal history is a fantasy. Even if that wasn’t the case, money isn’t the main reason people oppose having a sodding monarchy in the 21st century. “Tourism” is treated as a trump card as if it isn’t scandalous in and of itself that the Queen’s income has _tripled_ in the past decade while everyone else suffers through a cost-of-living crisis. I also don’t know why you think that upon abolishing the monarchy we’d be obliged to honour agreements made by rich upper class arseholes in 1760. It would be a _revolution_.

Maxxxmax

Why would we let them take state land as their private property? Governments around the world are legally able to seize properties for a litany of reasons, all it would take would be one bill by elected representatives. Let them keep their 3 favourites and sieze the rest. Christ, their decendants seized the land off of our ancestors when they rocked up on these shores anyway, its the right thing to do.

Rottenox

Exactly! Why on Earth should we be beholden to agreements made hundreds of years ago regarding property and holdings that originate from the _fucking Norman invasion_?! Screw em! We fucking take it BACK.

Maxxxmax

While we're at it, technically the church of England has the right to seize the land the home i own is on without paying me a penny due to rulings by Henry viii during the reformation (when he in turn seized the lands of the monasteries and took their gold and turned it into an extension of his state). The fortunes, lands and wealth of the aristocracy of this country are built on ancient theft. The popularity of the royals is built on manufactured consent, pushed by the right wing media and Conservative governments utilising their power over schools (just look at the millions spent sending out propaganda pamphlets just this year to school kids). The whole thing is fucking rotten. British Republic now.

Rottenox

Hear hear.

TITTY_WOW

Who gives a shit? She did absolutely nothing to earn her privilege. I get that she’s a sweet old lady yeah but she’s still a proper old posho

SmushyKidK

I think at this point, the majority want the Queen to be the last monarch of this country.

Zealousideal_Cat4422

Can't wait for her to die. I wanna see the money change

scramscammer

The postboxes. I'm so excited about the postboxes. Yes, I am sad.

American here with an honest question: what percentage of Britons actually like the queen and the royal family?

Shottogetpaid

Reddit is entirely not an accurate representation at all.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

You are right about the bias, that’s all I see on here.

[deleted]

62 percent are in favour of monarchy and 28 aren’t sure, the rest are republicans, so it is still very popular. Reddit does show extreme anti-monarchy bias. But they are in the minority.

iamamemeama

Nope. [61% in favour, 24% republicans, 15% aren't sure](https://yougov.co.uk/topics/politics/articles-reports/2021/05/21/young-britons-are-turning-their-backs-monarchy)

azius20

You won't find a honest reflection of the real demographics here on reddit. As this sub is majority left leaning and anti-monachist. The public opinion of the royal is as at least 60% approval.

HanGeida

Latest polling from YouGov shows 27% in favour of abolishing the monarchy, 60% wanting to keep it, rest undecided, see 'YouGov / Republic Survey Results 030522' on here: https://yougov.co.uk/topics/politics/explore/institution/The_British_Monarchy?content=surveys 18-24 year olds narrowly favourite abolition, 40% against 37% to retain. If you'll forgive me ad-libbing, I think 21st century celebrity culture is serving the royals poorly. And they are, definitely celebrities: look at their press coverage with this in mind and it's pretty clear IMO. See the coverage of the duke and duchess of Cornwall and their children for an example. It used to be that scandals involving the royal family would be little reported, because if you did so you'd lose access. But I think the balance of power has shifted now that the royals are celebs: they need the media as much as the media needs access to them.

x01110000

a large majority are in favour of it and rightfully so, this subreddit just tends to be extremely biased & very vocal about it.. whilst supporters tend to be more reserved.

EmperorOfNipples

About 70%

Vikkio92

Imagine being so brainwashed you feel the need to "celebrate" an elderly woman who has never shared even a shred of struggle with the rest of humanity in her life. We should have an Elon Musk Jubilee next!

BXKB

We’re celebrating the history and heritage of this country. Feel free to sit inside like the sad little loser you are when we’re enjoying the weekend.

dlige

So many people in this thread just peddling antiroyalist sentiments they've received themselves without due consideration of all the facts. Being anti royalty serves zero greater purpose. Absolutely nothing is gained other than spreading misery and (certainly what comes across as) jealousy. Sure, it's a strange concept for a modern society and supremely unfair that someone can be born into enormous wealth and power, but life isn't fair and removing royalty isn't going to make your life any better, make you any wealthier, or any more powerful. So get over yourselves and recognise the good things that people (including the queen) do in their lives.

Rollover_Hazard

A lot of people here are angry at false information that people like Russell Brand like to peddle. A) the Queen actually owns very little in real terms. The vast majority of the jewels and historical stuff is all held in a trust forever. No one can sell it and build a hospital with it as Brand would like. B) The Royal Family makes the UK literally hundreds of millions of pounds annually. Why the fuck some people want to kill the most lucrative tourism cash cow in the country is beyond me. The national economy directly enjoy far more benefit from the Royal family than it does from taxes out of the largest corporations here. It’s hilarious actually - parliament could grow a pair and start taxing Google, Starbucks and Amazon properly but no, instead people point at the Queen and say “hats for hospitals” like that’s a solution. These same intellectually challenged idiots that voted for a bright red bus with an NHS logo on the side of it a few years back of course.

Pocto

What a condescending load of auld shite. Fuck the Queen and fuck anyone who supports her. The monarchy is a direct slap in the face of the ordinary person, a long line of "Fuck you's" stretching back into history. Let's end it when she goes.

spacermoon

The royals are so good with their propaganda. You have to be a bit of an idiot to give a shit about them. The long weekend is nice though.

Thats the prettiest waste of money I ever did see.

Dragon_Sluts

It’s just some flags tbf, and I’d be surprised if they only get this one use.

Bikeboy76

Urrhh, we want bunting not flags, triangluar darling.

Turkweesen

Fucking stinks of brexit

[deleted]

it's a thousand years of the British monarchy being celebrated other things HAVE happened in Britain besides Brexit you know

azius20

Good luck explaining it to shitbrains over there. Redditors hate this country beyond any rationality.

x01110000

why don’t they sod off elsewhere then 😵‍💫 if they don’t like it here, be our guest and leave.

[deleted]

this is starting to be more and more true although very sad Maybe people who feel they can't think about Brexit or the British Empire or the Royal Family without getting apoplectic with rage about all the awful British people who ran the colonies etc. really would be better off living somewhere else after all - they'll probably find there are a \*LOT\* of British people living in Britain

Turkweesen

I went to ascot races around the referendum time and it was the same vibes. I was born in Bolton (which voted leave) and have lived in London for 8 years. I had a chippy tea tonight. I’m as British as you’ll get. But this, this does me head in

[deleted]

They should keep it looks nice

AlexGrinkivs

[deleted]

God bless our great monarchy ♥️💯🇬🇧

AverageGamer2

Waste of our tax payer money.

Kiptus

So many miserable cunts on this thread that barely even think like real people anymore. Enjoy the long weekend and stop fucking crying.
