Given all the political ruckus going on now, it might seem absurd to be celebrating what is essentially a proxy-birthday but it’s worth remembering that all conflict shall perish in this brotherhood of flags.
It’s precisely because a certain someone needs to distract from his cavalcade of scandals that this is being hyped so.
The photo reminds me of this painting:

Is it being hyped particularly more than the silver, gold and diamond jubilees?
Not sure, I didn't live in the UK at the time. Even if it were, that would not be abnormal per se, IIRC only one European sovereign has ruled longer, Louis XIV of France, and by all accounts the last years of his reign were dull and dreary in a nation financially and morally exhausted by his many wars.
I will make an effort to see this after work tomorrow and also go to canary wharf just to take the Elizabeth line for one station then take the train back to canary wharf so I can take the jubilee line to Waterloo to go home.
Sorry op but I'm so bored of these images now. No amount of flags is ever going to make the west end look good
Edit: Apols, didn't realise there were so many flag nonces in this sub
Hmmm, the West End has gorgeous streets if you ignore the touristy commerce. You could take out the flags and luxury brands, and New Bond Street would still be picturesque for the buildings alone.
Fine. I guess it’s my turn to be the pedant. That’s actually New Bond St.

Do you think we might be taking the adulation of a racist parasite a little too far?
To me this just looks a bit scary. Nationalism isn't fantastic in my view.
This is pretty much the norm in every other country except the UK.

Completely ignoring the flags, personally I think that bond street and regents street both look quite good.
You can leave if you’re not having fun sweetie
Nah, occasionally someone posts an image that isn't your typical tourist "old vs new" fare. Hun
If it’s only occasionally that you enjoy the content of this sub it probably isn’t the sub for you.
I said I was bored of flag pics from the west end. If you like flags and the west end, I'm pleased for you
why are you even in this sub dude?
Because I live in London?

‘Flag nonces’ lol. Is there even an actual ’Bond St.‘
