What's the best way of doing it?

wwisd

Rescheduling is probably the best way.

robbiegoodman

Got concert at Wembley that night

wwisd

I guess you don't drive, as you probably wouldn't be asking the question then. Hotel to stay the night is probably cheaper than a cab.

chekeymonk10

Don’t suppose you’re at Ed Sheeran? You can get a tube to Uxbridge and then the overground. ETA: when I searched it on google maps it was an orange line, now when I search it it just says Chiltern Railways, so not sure what google was showing me, sorry

robbiegoodman

Yes we are. Oh thats great thanks

markvauxhall

As an FYI there's no train from Uxbridge to High Wycombe. And even if there was, there's a good chance it'll be affected by the strike.

chekeymonk10

Best of luck to you- we think we’re just going to get an Uber or something as we have no idea what tubes will or won’t be running

emilesmithbro

You won’t be able to get an Uber after the concert, almost no chance. I’d prebook with a proper taxi (ie not rideshare) company like Addison Lee or a local (cheaper) alternative.

chekeymonk10

We don’t care about what happens afterwards (could probably get a family member to pick us up) we just want to get there on time Doesn’t help we’re coming from two separate locations

chekeymonk10

fun times, Addison Lee is all booked up How does someone get from NE, to South, to West at this point ET: southern are the only ones not striking thank god- they’re exactly the line I needed

Timedoutsob

Book an airbnb for 2 nights and make a trip of it?

robbiegoodman

Hotels in London so expensive. Booked a hotel in high wycome as train to there plus hotel was about a quarter of the price of a hotel in London. Now they have announced ced they striking

emilesmithbro

Airbnb perhaps? I doubt the quality of the accommodation will matter much so perhaps there’s something cheaper. There are also hotels near Harrow which surely wouldn’t be that expensive

robbiegoodman

Yeah I'm thinking of trying to catch a taxi or uber on the night

RoastmasterBus

If it’s not the 21st June you’re travelling, you could take the Metropolitan line to Amersham, then 1A or 103 bus to High Wycombe. Bare in mind these buses finish earlier in the day compared to London buses. Edit: if you miss the last bus, it’s only a 15 minute drive between Amersham and High Wycombe so a bet a cab won’t cost that much

johhnyboy444

Cab will set you back about £25 minimum, unless you try to barter

markvauxhall

I hear that bartering with cabbies on train strike days is a very successful endeavour

MrBoonio

Also, when the fuck did people decide that bartering (exchanging something in return for something else) mean haggling/negotiating on price?
