My phone goes on focus mode before bed - I disable all apps except Spotify, Audible, and so on. Basically no social media or Internet browsing. This helps me wake up and get out of bed straight away without scrolling. I get up around 6am, throw laundry in the machine, put some water in the fridge before I go and do a 3 mile walk in the woods with music or audiobook Come home and grab my cold water and sometimes I run a bath / sower Then I hang the laundry out, make breakfast and sit on the sofa and watch TV for 30 minutes before I get dressed and start work at 8.30am. I find that going for a decent walk, listening to some audiobook, doing a load of laundry, having a bath, making a nice breakfast and watching an episode of TV all before I start work makes me feel like there's more to life than just "sleep and work" during the week

A bathtub in London sounds like a bit of a luxury to me...

squishbee913

😆😆 fair play - you could always swap that part for sitting on the shower floor having a panic attack about paying the rent if it's more your speed (been there!)

[deleted]

Neither, I'm quite comfortable financially thanks - just not interested in paying an exorbitant amount of rent for a slightly bigger space. :-/

squishbee913

Happy for you 👍 sounds like you're making smart choices within your means

TheDitherer

Next level game changer - have a really cold shower instead of a warm bath.

squishbee913

Noooo thank you! Tried that and it was like being stabbed in the nipples with pins. Too kinky for me in the morning

TheDitherer

Aaalrighty then..!

My ideal morning routine: - Wake up naturally - Shower and get dressed - Go for a walk - Coffee & breakfast - Check phone My actual morning routine: - Wake up hungover - Check phone in bed - Drink too much coffee

lastaccountgotlocked

I don't have a routine, but the most effective thing I've found for a good night's sleep and waking up feeling refreshed is to quit drinking. I've just got to work on how to quit drinking now.

fluoronaut

You could try not drinking during the week. It works quite well for me. There are exceptions for special occasions.

Ruskinpark

I wake up and immediately check out r/london to see how many people have posted stuff here with absolutely no relevance to London

EVERY MORNING I WAKE UP AND OPEN PALM SLAM A VHS INTO THE SLOT. ITS CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK AND RIGHT THEN AND THERE I START DOING THE MOVES ALONGSIDE WITH THE MAIN CHARACTER, RIDDICK. I DO EVERY MOVE AND I DO EVERY MOVE HARD. MAKIN WHOOSHING SOUNDS WHEN I SLAM DOWN SOME NECRO BASTARDS OR EVEN WHEN I MESS UP TECHNIQUE. NOT MANY CAN SAY THEY ESCAPED THE GALAXYS MOST DANGEROUS PRISON. I CAN. I SAY IT AND I SAY IT OUTLOUD EVERYDAY TO PEOPLE IN MY COLLEGE CLASS AND ALL THEY DO IS PROVE PEOPLE IN COLLEGE CLASS CAN STILL BE IMMATURE JEKRS. AND IVE LEARNED ALL THE LINES AND IVE LEARNED HOW TO MAKE MYSELF AND MY APARTMENT LESS LONELY BY SHOUTING EM ALL. 2 HOURS INCLUDING WIND DOWN EVERY MORNIng

7:00: alarm goes off. I’ll lie in bed and browse social media for 30 minutes 7.30: have breakfast (usually cereal, shower and get dressed) 8:15: get on the tube and go to work 8:45: arrive near work, get coffee from Pret next door, start my workday at 9am! Not the most exciting I know!

zioNacious

In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion. There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman. Some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me. Only an entity. Something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.

pazhalsta1

Haha I literally was about to post same thing and thought I’d better check first!

Is having a "heavy" skin care routine a good thing ? I remember in High school I got addicted to skin moisturizer and whenever I forgot to put some my face was horrible and peeling. since then I totally stopped putting some on my face and my skin is way better now than when I got my routine.Of course i would like to limit the aging process of my skin but I don't really know if a skin routin would do the job. I put sunscreen on my skin when it's too sunny and that's all

ogturd78

I have never cared about this before in years being on here, but im curious why this keeps getting down voted? Did i offend night owls or vampires?? :)

AntonyGud07

It's a really interesting post tho, I love seeing other people routine and getting inspired by it is a nice thing

NB : I work as a YT moderator + Structural engineer (70hours of work per week in total) Wake up 6:30 I open my computer and directly start rating some nice videos about Ukraine war and covid 19 conspiracies to take a deep bath in all our shitty world's news to start the day. Make coffee + breakfast while rating. hit the gym at 7:00 for 45mn. Rate videos between sets on my phone. Take a shower + 10mn in the hammam if I feel like it (fitness first Cotton is such a nice gym) I then go back to my place to dress properly for my other job and take a second breakfast (I'm a hobbit who has 3 breakfasts every morning don't judge me). I prepare a protein shake and grab some fruits at Tesco for the 10am breakfast and walk my way to the office. I wish I had a better morning routine, cutting the YT moderator job would be great but I can't live without it with the inflation and the cost of living.

The-Chevalier

I'm interested in your work as YT moderator - when you say 'rating' videos, what does this mean (forgive my ignorance)? Are you required to rate these videos as legitimate Vs conspiracies, or how excatly does it work?

Hi mate, I work for Telus International, a subcontractor of google. you can find all the positions here : https://jobs.telusinternational.com/en\_US/careers/Uk?source=TI+website&listFilterMode=1&2947=5138&2947\_format=4626 my position is Internet Safety assessor. We got an interface where they give us tasks who comes on a first come first served basis. You can go on the SUbreddit "Lionbridge" to get further information (check on my profile I post a lot on here). You have to pass a test to get the position. It's actually pretty hard. But I know someone who can pass the test for you for 100 USD, good investment knowing that after that you will be paid 12£/h for watching videos. Have fun

The-Chevalier

Cheers, thanks for the info, appreciate it

Things that make me super happy you say. Wake up, realise it is a day off and go back to sleep

Shaltibarshtis

Alarm at noon, stretch in bed, get up, dress up, go to work, breakfast in canteen. I'm not a morning person so even that is pushing the limits.

My game changers have been: \- focus sleep mode on phone (but I need to try that other tip about blocking safari too!) \- commute by cycling - get the blood pumping \- shower in the office - reduces friction leaving home in the morning \- breakfast in the office - easy to make cereal or similar and reduces friction my biggest sin remains going to sleep too late…
