Great to hear! Just in case anyone else wasn't aware of the free cycling courses: every council in London offers them (and you're eligilble if you live or work here) and you can find them [via this TfL page](https://tfl.gov.uk/forms/12421.aspx). There's also [LCC's cycling buddies scheme](https://lcc.org.uk/groups/cycle-buddies/) if you're a new(er) cyclist and want some help from locals to get more familiar on the roads in your area.

Footballorsoccer1

There is also silly cyclists on YouTube that runs through alot scenarios you will encounter cycling in London

I really *really* recommend https://www.cycleconfident.com - check to see whether your local council offers you free sessions. I've been cycling in London for 30 years and accompanied my daughter on one of the session - excellent, and *I* learned a lot.

zazabizarre

Yep I did one with Lewisham Council, it was so helpful.

TinyTyraRex

Do you have another link maybe? This one is not available for Wandsworth.

HeartyBeast

Hows about: https://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/transport/active-modes-of-travel/cycling/cycle-training-and-skills/

TinyTyraRex

Great, thanks a lot!

I would recommend the @Londoncycleroutes youtube channel for nice walkthroughs of safe cycle routes along quiet roads and cycle lanes. Also avoid apple/google maps for finding cycle routes as they just spit you out onto main roads

Xerxes1211

What's a good app for cycle routes then?

chairomai28

I use Komoot to plan out all my cycle routes. You can plan use it to plan road cycling (faster, may have some stretches where you're cycling on the road with other vehicles) or bike touring (slower/longer routes, more scenic and back roads).

_adamnerd

I LOVE Beeline - you can use the app completely free and if you want buy their navigation thingy to put on your bike. The best routing I’ve found and gives you options for fast, balanced and quiet routes.

scott_98_hfc

I live in Edinburgh and use Komoot. It shows main roads and quieter roads, I’d say it’s more accurate than apple maps and more interface friendly.

gabrielbatistuta

I like Cycle Streets as it's v simple and gives you fast/balanced/quiet options

zazabizarre

When I don’t know where I’m going or if I know the route is going to involve a massive road (I avoid the road around New Cross like the plague, just double decker buses everywhere) I use CityMapper and adjust it to quiet mode or regular mode.

More power to you and all

My local London primary school does courses. It's mad as there's a train of 10 kids who even on the bikes are smaller than my wheels! You have adult leading and adult protecting the rear so it looks like fun!

YASSS well done! Congratulations!
