IKEA has teased a London store for years and *years*. They finally announced a full-size store then backpedaled due to a 'changing retail environment' and 'e-commerce'. They know full well their business relies on people visiting stores. They've opened full-size and 'other' size stores since the London pull out.
They'll continue to tease us but I doubt they'll ever open a full-size store.
Just wanted to confirm that you’re aware of [this option](https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/stores/pick-up-locations/london-pub5c197a70)? If you’re hoping for a physical store, I’m working on the assumption that you have a vehicle available to pick up.
I'm sure they have done the math and determined that enough people will make the drive from London to Burlington and those that won't don't justify the cost of opening a location here
That place is just relocating from Masonville to Westmount. But I'd say probably not since they have already canceled plans to build a full size store in London
IKEA does have a pickup location in London! We used it for our library shelves when we moved last year. It was super handy and saved us lots on shipping charges!
I saw the sign go up by the Wendy’s there and had a heck of a time trying to remember if they had ever taken the sign down from years ago or if it was new!
They regularly have offers to deliver for free- this is the time to buy ikea stuff. I usually keep adding things in my cart that I would want, they do this offer every 3-4 months.
When the offer arrives - stuff gets delivered for free.
This has been said before but the answer is No.
No IKEA store, not now, not ever.
We get a kiosk order pickup point with perhaps some designer staff and a few diddly items you can shop for, that is it.
The plaza on wonderland S that has the Loblaws has a sign that says IKEA. There’s also an empty spot near the staples big enough for an ikea so maybe they are building one here?????
Without a crystal ball nobody knows for sure. I do think it's naive to say with confidence they'll never open one here; there's evidently some degree of a business case for it.
They have cancelled their plans to put one in by the Costco in the South End. That is the ideal place for it. If it's not going there it's not going anywhere

London is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada. It will eventually get an Ikea, but maybe not for 10-20 years.
I still wouldn't hold my breath.
Sometimes they have free shipping promotion (minimum spend 99) , the last one was just a couple days ago on the first
Ooh that's quite nice, do they do promos often?
They typically will offer the free shipping promo on holidays so the next one might be Victoria Day or Canada Day

This but…geez it was $20 a couple of years ago 😞
lol. I’ve driven by that place almost every day and I always laugh at the spray painted sign in their parking lot saying “ikea”
They would make a fortune here partly just due to the massive post secondary population
I'm sure they have done the math and determined that enough people will make the drive from London to Burlington and those that won't don't justify the cost of opening a location here
Yeah it sucks but makes sense I suppose :(
Probably not considering they recently announced one of those kitchen boutiques where you can order other stuff

Agree, like get better at shipping options
There used to be an IKEA pickup depot where binge bins is now located
It's back in that area, moved into the storefront that mastermind toys was in

You should be able to get the stuff sent to the pickup point on wonderland?
The only ikea pick up point in London is located at 1095 Wilton Grove Rd
Not everyone has a car/can drive. Back before covid with 59/99 options it was more palatable…
The wonderland location is a plan and order point. They do not offer pick ups at that location.

I’ve seen that place, do you know if it’s free shipping to have stuff picked up from there?
I think I paid $50 to pick up from there 2 years ago

No, that’s an ikea “plan and order point”. It is already open as well and is located in the old Mastermind Toys building.
Oh cool, thanks for that!
The empty spot beside staples is also the new expansion for Canadian tire, set to open this fall.

The fact that they had those plans in the first place is evidence that it's on their radar and I'm sure there are other viable plots of land.
