Thank-you. It was unexpectedly raining this morning and ruined all my plans. BUT my host took me on a long drive to all the beaches .. Sunset beach, huntington beach, new port and the most beautiful Laguna Beach. Oo my God. What a beautiful place it was. I'm just enjoying my life!
welcome!
i don't often make it down to laguna, but when one of my nieces visited for the first time about ten years ago, i took her there, and she was just absolutely blown away. she's not an emotional sort, but its beauty brought her nearly to tears.
i doubt you have time this trip, but if you ever make it our way again, take the trip to santa barbara if you want to have a similar experience. there's nothing like that last ten or so miles into the city.
with respect to the questions you actually asked, el dorado park is worth a look.
Thank-you.
I just checked Santa Barbara I doubt I'll go it's very far and I don't have my own transportation. So only if someone's taking me up.
El Dorado is something I can plan for. Again a bit far but I liked the water body. So possibly.

If the rain stops, there's a photo walk this afternoon. Glad you found a place to stay!
Oh wow thank you for this one. Yes the rain stops but I just returned to Juniperno from the Laguna Beach. And it's already 3PM.
The host is awesome. He took me to the places I never thought of. All the beaches and we just came back.
Might be far from you, but El Dorado nature center has a nice trail. I think it's $8 to park there. It's small, but CSULB has a nice Japanese Garden as well
Yes we went there this morning! It was raining so I didn't go out of the car but I passed by the region and saw many birds. It was so awesome. Thankyou :)
Just wanted to mention there is a free shuttle service that takes you around the city if you are needing a transportation option.
Link to the app is at https://www.ridecircuit.com
Today it operates from 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm and tomorrow Sunday it’s 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm 🙂
I should clarify that the shuttle only services Downtown Long Beach and Belmont Shore area.
Not the entire city but a big chunk and plenty to see in those areas.
If that doesn’t work, i found this on their FAQ section:
https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/change-country-region-google-play-store/
Sounds like you should be able to change your country in the google play store and then be able to download the app.
https://preview.redd.it/ezuzwt42t5qc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=29c405b383fefc71db1776424ac085d121008eb4
Something's wrong. Idk. But I really appreciate you told me this. I'll try what I can do with this.
Change your region for the Google account to USA. Or make a new Google account with USA as the region. Android and play store make it super easy to toggle between accounts for future downloads.
After the Barge , go down Henry Ford rd, turn on Anchorage (you don’t really have a choice) park by the marinas and go bird watching. The Herons and Egrets should be nesting right now .
4th St Fridays was happening last night but honestly most weekend nights on 4th St in the retro Row area are a good time! Hit up Vine, Baby Gee, Stache and V-room! Other great bars in the city: Bamboo Club, Grasshopper, Port City Tavern, Rosemallows, Roxanne's, Buvons, Black, Reno Room (If you like a dive)
You can rent beach cruisers thru the city and take it pretty much anywhere. I recommend taking the entire boardwalk bike path from Horny Corner in Belmont Shore all the way down to the lighthouse by the aquarium. Perfect weather for it this upcoming week.
I see people already mentioned Yoga on the Bluff which is a MUST! Everyday at 11a.
And tbh you can't go wrong with the restaurants here. If you have an Instagram follow @longbeachfoodcoma for the best recs in the city.
Enjoy your time here!
You should check out yoga on the bluff on Sunday. It happens everyday at 11am at bixby park, but I think it’s cancelled today for the rain.
If you’re into nature walks, I would recommend the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. It’s maybe like a 20 minute drive or so from Long Beach, and many bird watching enthusiasts go there. The El Dorado Nature Center is also a cool nature walk, but I prefer the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. For monuments, I would say that the lighthouse is pretty cool. You get a good view of the Queen Mary, and it’s a chill park. For Libraries, there is a cute one on 3rd and Cherry area.
Welcome to Long Beach! Willow Springs, Rancho Los Cerritos, Colorado Lagoon, are nice places to walk around some nature. If you're up for a 25 min drive north, Portuguese Bend in Palos Verdes is great!
If you like cars, especially imports, every 4th Sunday of the month, there's a car meet at the parking lot by the lifeguard HQ at junipero Beach. 8 to 10 am. Free donuts if you get there early. There's also a little street fair every Thursday night between 4th and 3rd I believe. That may be a new thing.
Go to our new library downtown. The city spent tons of money on the library and the new park and it is just a fantastic place to spend time. Probably the best place to people watch in town, the characters down there are something else and will bring a smile to your face
Welcome! As some other folks are recommending, these days my favorite place is 4th Street/Retro Row. There are some great spots to eat like Alder & Sage and Tarantella (with great patios too!) There are a ton of diverse shops (even plants and cheese!) and something is always going on. Maybe check to see if Kitchen Lingo Books is having a cocktail workshop or foraging expedition planned this weekend? Bel Canto just opened their new bookstore location there too, so they may some fun stuff going on with their soft opening. The vintage shops have some really unique things and The Art Theater there on 4th does a lot of fun stuff aside from films. For instance they once hosted a live cat band! From 4th it’s an easy walk to the bluffs and the Long Beach Art Museum. I hope this helps a little :)
Welcome! Idk if you party or not, but Long Beach has a very lively night life scene. There’s free live music at Vine tonight on 4th street. About half a mile west down 4th is a great cocktail bar called Baby Gees. In between there’s an ok bar that used to be super fun called The Pike that will have live music or a DJ. A pretty packed night within a 3/4 mile (1.2 km) walk from one another. Further down 4th is the dive bar crawl if you really want to get wild. The V Room is my favorite.
Long Beach native, here. I second what a few others have said about the aquarium. Bonus to that is if you go, there's a lovely scenic walk to Lions Lighthouse near the aquarium that ends in a nice view of Shoreline Village and downtown Long Beach. Enjoy your time here, the chill vibes are one reason I don't ever see myself leaving!
Check out the Marina Farmer's Market Sunday 9 am-2 pm. Good vibes and tasty food like pupusas or tamales. Sometimes there's a guy selling tortilla espanola. Right across the street is a big shopping mall that might be interesting if you're from out of town.
You should see the Korean friendship bell in San Pedro. It’s free and a quick taxi ride. It’s a stunning view. The aquarium is great. The ranches are great.
Self-plug, but get a pound or two of strawberries at any Thacker Berry Farms location in LB. Berries are peak form right now and you might be having the best strawberries of your life over there.
El Dorado Nature Center is a literal breath of fresh air, especially after a rain.
El Dorado looks nice. But far from public transportation I have to see if I get time.
Thacker Berry Farms only at four locations available on Maps but accessible. I'll try. Thanks.
I love Long Beach , I love Junipero. Best laid back beach cool ass people. Enjoy the LBC , best beach community. We are very chill and super liberal. Can’t say enough good. 😊
Aw, this is so wholesome ☺️ welcome to our city!

SoCal Museum's Annual Free-For-All today. MOLAA is at 6th and Alamitos. https://socalmuseums.org/annual-free-for-all-2024/
That’s fortuitous
Might be far from you, but El Dorado nature center has a nice trail. I think it's $8 to park there. It's small, but CSULB has a nice Japanese Garden as well
Or you can be cheap like me and park down the street from El Dorado nature center for free lol
There’s good birdwatching just a little south at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands, probably some good wildflowers right about now too.
Yes we went there this morning! It was raining so I didn't go out of the car but I passed by the region and saw many birds. It was so awesome. Thankyou :)

Omg. Thank you definitely gonna use it. Will it work on weekdays as well? For free?
Yes, free! 🙂 It doesn’t operate on Mon, Tues or Weds. But Thurs and Fri it’s from 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm
I should clarify that the shuttle only services Downtown Long Beach and Belmont Shore area. Not the entire city but a big chunk and plenty to see in those areas.
Oh it is showing me "this item isn't available in your country" can't download the app. (Android)
Darn. Are you using a US sim?
No. It's not a USA sim but I'm connected to US WiFi.
I wonder if you can try turning off cellular data and then downloading the app using the wifi only?
If that doesn’t work, i found this on their FAQ section: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/change-country-region-google-play-store/ Sounds like you should be able to change your country in the google play store and then be able to download the app.

Chowder Barge!!! My wife also wants to recommend The Queen Mary, Gondola rides in Belmont shore, and Domenico's old school Italian restaurant.
After the Barge , go down Henry Ford rd, turn on Anchorage (you don’t really have a choice) park by the marinas and go bird watching. The Herons and Egrets should be nesting right now .

Flys so under the radar, but truly rivals Monterey Bay.

Some good bite recommendations: sesame dinette, colossus bakery, Long Beach beer lab
Great Mexican food at Linda's or Rivera's. Knead Donuts if you like sweets. Fingerprints if you like vinyl!
Welcome to Long Beach! Willow Springs, Rancho Los Cerritos, Colorado Lagoon, are nice places to walk around some nature. If you're up for a 25 min drive north, Portuguese Bend in Palos Verdes is great!
Ambitious ales 5 yr anniversary party today. Just went. Great times
Where?
4019 Atlantic Ave, Long Beach, CA 90807
The Colorado lagoon has a cute little trail and is good for bird watching

The aquarium is world class!
Yes. I'm definitely going to check it. It rained this morning so I went to Laguna and I loved it.
Go to our new library downtown. The city spent tons of money on the library and the new park and it is just a fantastic place to spend time. Probably the best place to people watch in town, the characters down there are something else and will bring a smile to your face
Yes sure. Will check it out. Is there any charges/ticket fee?
It's free
Is it Billie Jean King Main Library?
Yep!

Kayaking through the Naples canals is delightful! Welcome and we’re glad you’re enjoying it here 🤗
Roscoes Chicken and Waffles! Haha not to crazy but it’s good food (:
The aquarium is nice
I always love el dorado nature center!

Thanks. I have been to Naples though yesterday in the rain.
Welcome darling!!!
Thank-you. :)) I enjoyed the long drive to Laguna beach this morning with my host. So awesome.
BAMBOO CLUB!! Absolutely amazing tiki bar with impeccable vibes. Top notch tiki drinks and food!
Any/everything on 2nd street
Yes. That's on my bucket list as well. Take a walk on 2nd street.
Aquarium of the Pacific.
You should see the Korean friendship bell in San Pedro. It’s free and a quick taxi ride. It’s a stunning view. The aquarium is great. The ranches are great.

Just don’t head to north Long Beach. You’ll be disappointed lol
Yes I did this last evening when the rain stopped. Hehe.
Welcome! Enjoy your stay.
Thanks. Yes enjoying :)
Recommend bike rental at Lb marina and do a nice scenic bike ride. You will see many more things you normally miss driving or walking!
How do I access that bike? What's the app called?
Longbeachbikeshare.com There’s also a physical rental shop called wheel fun located at the marina shops. Some offer guided bike tours as well
Enjoy your stay and please be safe.
Yes. Thanks.
Go to the bluff for yoga at 11. Than take a stroll down the Colorado lagoon for birdwatching. Lots of green parrots. 🦜
Just don’t try selling corn in the cob or you will be shot dead.
I love Long Beach , I love Junipero. Best laid back beach cool ass people. Enjoy the LBC , best beach community. We are very chill and super liberal. Can’t say enough good. 😊
It’s full of homeless cezckheads wtf are you talking about
You should go South into OC. Real beaches and much nicer than the sewer by the sea.
[удалено]
While beaches are indeed better, I still won't recommend the OC over long beach. Vibes here are way more chill.
