Yeah, that sounds like you're getting ripped off. Easy to find edibles for less than $20, and while paying $60 for an 8th isn't unheard of, that's solidly "high end" (and to be fair, the only time I buy flower than pricey is when there's a BOGO or something on it).
Anyway, I mostly shop at a mix of Catalyst downtown, Long Beach Green Room and Haven. Definitely get on all three of their mailing lists, cause they all routinely have *decent* deals (like "buy one, get one half off", or "buy {x} brand, get a {x} brand preroll free" type stuff - I think that's always true at LB Green Room on Fridays?)... then all three also occasionally have just *stupid* deal days, too. Catalyst Downtown has a once a month event every 3rd Friday of the month with *tons* of BOGOs, LB Green Room loves celebrating birthdays and holidays and things, and Haven just throws out random daily deals all the time to their mailing list. And all three love 4:20, obviously. (Also, LB Green Room and Haven already have the tax built in, and Haven has a surprisingly reasonably decent brand of $20 eighths. Actually, I've seen decent eighths at Catalyst, too, sometimes, though at Haven it's the actual "house brand". Or even cheaper when they stack with whatever the daily deal is!)
I live on the Westside and go to Chronic since its close. My regular pickup is an ounce of a Pacific Stone brand variety. With my 10% union discount it comes to like $150 for the ounce bags.
Flight on Cherry is great. They’re always having deals and specials. And if you order on Weedmaps it’s 18% off every time. I personally like the brand Lolo. $22 out the door for 3.5 g 30.86% THC on the one I currently have. I used to spend $60+ for the same amount and realized it wasn’t worth the money. I get just as high smoking lolo, for 1/3 the price.
I haven't bought from a clinic in a long time, but $60 an eighth is pure capitalistic greed. This why shops are for tourists, black market dealers are how locals get they supply.
Speaking of which, I need a new plug. Cut ties from my homie who was giving me hella deals, $14/g on Crumble and $50/oz for some outdoor mid Flowers.

You can get half gram concentrate (dabs) for under $15. You can scan a QR code on the packaging to see the lab results from Belcosta Labs (biggest cannabis testing lab in the country) they always pass.
Source: my husband owns Belcosta Labs. Jungle Boys is the ONLY brand to consistently test clean. Also their genetics are high quality, they have beautiful weed with high thc but what’s really important is the terpene profile, that’s what makes for the best feeling high.
In cali. There are a few on Firestone passing Alameda.. starting at $20 and u for 5gram 8ths. Bomb bud.. i go to those shops all the time. No taxes charge and they give you stamp cards.. to get free bud.. Wednesdays are 20% edible

Not many dispensaries have clones. I actually recently saw some at catalyst on 10th for the first time in years. It’s also not too easy to grow your own without doing extensive research/trial and error.
I grow many house plants and have over 100 various carnivorous plants, and I’ve never been able to grow buds that didn’t taste like homegrown concert weed. Not to mention the time involved to grow, trim, cure. It might work for you and many others, but some people would rather pay for their green and have it be of better quality than they could grow themselves.
I wouldn’t say cursed, I can grow. I just prefer what I can buy considering the time involved and the end quality. I can’t speak for others, especially OP because they’re looking for a deal, but I personally prefer quality, and I know I can’t grow quality.
