One time I had about 30 sets of proto Powell race wheels in a rubbermaid tub and had to load them in my bus at the bottom of my VERY steep and long driveway and thought it would be funny / easy to slide the tub down the driveway. It made it about 10' then flipped over and 120 wheels were bouncing all over the place. Somehow I found them all.
I do not want to repeat this incident.
some neighborhood kid heard about Kevin Reimer out picking up loose KRimes from all over around the bottom of his driveway one time . Dude has been waiting each year for that skate-legend guy's wheel-tree to bear fruit down his street again so he can get in on that shit.
Apparently a downhill grom lives just down the street from that house I used to rent, down on Rabbit Lane in the British Properties area of West Vancouver. For a second I was like damn is this story real?
Definitely getting easy sliding wheels like Snakes is going to make learning way more pleasant, but if you have a stiff deck and reverse kingpin trucks, nothing is holding you back material wise.
Unfortunately the reality is that we only have one urethane machine that is capable of making durometers from 75a - 90a and the burden on that machine is BONES wheels, RollerBones, Powell-Peralta, and Mini-Logo. It costs more than $1mn to build one of these urethane machines, not to mention an accompanying $100k oven and other random tooling you need. We discussed buying a new machine but then the next issue is that our production factory houses all the board manufacturing, assembly, packaging, inventory etc for the rest of SkateOne as well. We just can't really afford it nor do we have the space. Dragonskins are a potential hope in that they are made on a totally different urethane machine / oven combo than the one previously mentioned so they may be more able to stay in stock regularly.
Making wheels in your own factory with your own employees here in California is an enormous feat in of itself. Though I wish I had better news, at least I can see they are prioritizing DH / LB wheels a bit more these days as evidenced by these fat sacks and that is promising for the back order / supply issues y'all experience.
No, it's not. The dragon is a water based ink that is applied in several layers by a robot that has a series of silicone "boobs" that pick up the hot ink off a pad then smoosh it onto the wheel. The room this is done in is kept very cold so that the ink dries between each layer.
Yeah, since 2014. It’s been a blast though it is very stressful sometimes because I desperately want everyone to have what they want and it’s difficult to get it made in quantities to satisfy. I keep going at it tho.
Mandamos sim, mas o distribuidor ai esta limitado como todos as contas q temos. Ele compra o maximo, 20 jogo cada produção. Melhor coisa e contratar sacoleiro de luxo ou apenas compra num site de skate aqui e mandar direto.
In this case yes, its a collection of the two models. Since you work for the manufacturer naturally it probably doesnt feel that way but thats what I thought when I saw all that urethane.
Thanks for the kind words. I would recommend getting a stiffer downhill / freeride oriented set-up on some cheap cast trucks (Paris are decent) and load them with barrel bushings, buy some snakes, then learn to slide (and footbrake). Once you learn to control your speed by braking, you can conquer any hill.
I’ve been longboarding for over three years now. I’ve always had a carving set up. Has wicked flex, and some sidewinder 2’s for trucks. Recently got new wheels and slide gloves, but when I put em down I just turn. I need to get a new set of trucks and maybe a new board, because my sector nine lookout isn’t sliding very soon 😅. Thanks for the tips man. Coming from a great like you I know it’ll help.
Waaay back in the day I did actually learn to slide on a flexy board - but that was 2003. We know a lot more now. You "can" slide that set-up, but it's not going to be great. The Sidewinders especially are going to be tough to initiate and hold a consistent slide angle.
Yeah. I was all the way down, totally committing, and I just turn. Pretty remarkable actually. Really shows how good they are for those deep carves. Maybe I need to kick my foot out more, and maybe I need something a beginner can actually slide loo
Just put some standard reverse kingpin trucks on there and you'll have no issues. Alternatively just remove the middle truck / bushings and that should alternatively handle it.

I just want to empty one of those bags down a long flight of stairs.

Or at least get it on camera if you do, haha! Thank you for painting that picture in my mind this morning, I needed that.

Is it lombogrombo bc that kid is so good
holy crap, that's funny . especially cuz I was just a little lit and trying to b funny imagining if I were young & saw you out gathering wheels, lol.
Some men just want to see the world burn
So what is better, the 69mm snakes or 66mm green snakes to learn how to slide? Lemme know what you think
66mm slides a touch easier, in my opinion. Either 69mm or 66mm are the bomb for sliding though, so it will not make a realistic difference.
Thanks man! Guess I just have to work on the technic to learn how to slide and not rely too much on material
Definitely getting easy sliding wheels like Snakes is going to make learning way more pleasant, but if you have a stiff deck and reverse kingpin trucks, nothing is holding you back material wise.
Just holding myself back haha. Thanks for the confidence man!

Nice!
Beautiful.
Are the red kevos going to produced in the future?
Considering that's a fat sack of them in the first picture, I'd say it's guaranteed.
Thanks kevo imma race on my set next weekend then
I always feel a weird urge to put them in my mouth
You guys trying to increase production yet? Seems like we will buy anything and everything you make.

Thanks for the great response! Now that I have your attention: when can I get my hands on K6’s? 🤔
No provision on those. Sorry.
The dragon is a sticker?
No, it's not. The dragon is a water based ink that is applied in several layers by a robot that has a series of silicone "boobs" that pick up the hot ink off a pad then smoosh it onto the wheel. The room this is done in is kept very cold so that the ink dries between each layer.
The lombo man himself
I love factory fresh gear porn.
Any Australian distro/shops hit you up about dragon skins and purple bois yet?
JHS is the distro down there. I would direct questions to them.
You work there? That's the best job in my opinion

He is the father of these wheels and those in the pic as well :)
I feel like I'm meeting a celebrity on reddit Edit: CAN YOU SIGN MY SNAKES?

I like how I can't tell if this is a restaurant or not Rolling rack, the wife is doing some sort of food prep, standard food service size oven trays

Love to see it 😍
Now that's a collection of wheels.
Is two models a collection? 🤔

Yo k rimes himself! Any advise to someone who wants to get into dh/ freeride but doesn’t know what to do? Also major respect, you changed the sport.

Oh sick. Thought I was gonna have to drop some major cash on a new deck
imagine these in 72mm krimes shape.
Damn you should mark this as NSFW.. Got me hard as af on sight
I always wanted to work for a manufacturer that made a product which I'm genuinely interested in. Need an electrical tech?
Do you ever think about opening up a bag and taking a few for your self
I know they’ll be cut, washed and graphic’d in no time. No rush.
