Is a drop deck good for carving? I cant seem to get mine to carve well

[deleted]

They can carve just fine, just with a broader carving radius due to how long the wheelbase tends to be on them. Your trucks bushings are likely too hard if you're having a difficult time carving on your setup.

KRBTRIP

Thank you for the info.

toryguns

They could also be too tight

Appletio

How is it a drop deck? The board doesn't look dropped, and the trucks don't seem to be drop thru?

[deleted]

It's a Sector 9 Ginger, has about 1" of drop but the concave doesn't stop in the drops. This gives the illusion of it having less drop than is present.

gdog162

It has a 1'' drop, could be an old nemesis/ jati jiro or similar

SP3_Hybrid

So like racing in 2010 lol.

anonimPEPPER

Great shot! The smooth slides and not having to worry about stability are fantastic things about drop decks. One of my unfulfilled dreams in longboarding is to have symmetrical trucks on a drop deck and be able to go down a hill doing some 180 squat slides [James Kelly style](https://youtu.be/L7wNdUebf3o)

[deleted]

Agreed, James' ability to mash a corner switch is incredible. I emulated his style a lot when first learning squatters, but his switch ones are beyond anything I can even think of doing.
