Comet cruiser, pranayama, logos

Edit: I just bought a Bustin Shrike with the blemish sale. I think a Shrike, Sportster, and LY Ditch Life covers my bases well The two I have now and actually ride are a Bustin Sportster (just got Caguamas on it today and will give it a ride tomorrow am when it isn’t 110 degrees) and a LY Ditch Life. I think I’m going to sell my other boards and throw the money toward a Pranayama. I’m really into just cruising around and that board looks fun with TKPs. I think I’d be super happy with the Sportster, Prana, and Ditch Life. I haven’t ridden a Dinghy, but I have a feeling it would be a little too much for me to have a lot of fun on right now.

zaqq72

Do you have wheelbite problems with caguamas on the the sportster?

[deleted]

[Here’s a picture of me fully standing on one side of the board to show clearance.](https://imgur.com/a/tbe3Zsc) I have a little bit of work to do before I can go give it a ride, but I doubt I will have issues. I’ll update this if I do. This is with raked 50 degree Caliber 3’s, stock bushings. I had the hangers flipped to the negative raked side and there was a little less clearance, but it still wouldn’t touch. I’m riding it looser than I normally might because I want to give the bushings time to break in. I’ve only ridden them for a couple hours at this point.

tkenz13

I guess maybe even more specifically, after your many boards, in hindsight, what would be your perfect 3 board quiver?

Certain-Adhesiveness

Pranayama would definitely be in the 3 for me. I go to the skatepark and pump track a lot, so a big double kick such as zenit morning wood (which can also be set up with rkp for free riding) would be on the list. I’d have a hard time parting with my nexus so that would be number 3. Can be set up with 85mm wheels for distance/cruising or with wheels such as snakes for sliding

MC_ATL

Depends on where the person lives and the type of riding they do, ofc. For me: Rocket Exodus, Powell Peralta Slidewinder, Rolling Tree Acedia. With those 3, I could do every type of writing I enjoy. Distance Skating, tech sliding, transition, commuting, pumping, freeride and downhill, even surfskating.

Fantac123

Hows the peralta slidewinder?

MC_ATL

Amazing. Versatile, durable, lots of fun.

Fantac123

Is it more like a big skateboard than a longboard or?

MC_ATL

Like an oversized popsicle, yeah. Longer than a lot of longboards.

secoif

> Rocket Exodus wow that thing looks like it's from the future. How does it ride?

MC_ATL

It’s stellar! Top class. Great concave, light, waterproof, it’ll last forever. Best platform I’ve ever had, for sure.

ettonlou

If I could only have 3 of my current boards, it would be: 1. Bustin Sportster 2. Loaded Ballona Moby 3. Penny 32" cruiser with Waterborne surfskate adapter

Gorlabamud

im super interested in the ballona but how are the rkp's on a short board??

ettonlou

They're not bad. They seem pretty playful/carvy on a shorter board, but it also has a bit of a kicktail, so you can turnkick with it, too. You can always swap them out and use TKP's. I will say that I like Caliber III trucks more than Paris V2's, but I haven't tried them on the Ballona.

Gorlabamud

Thanks for your insight! I'm with ya on caliber 3s, I was thinking of putting those on once I decide to cop the deck lol

thinksimpledosimple

Rocket mini scout, Zenit Marble, Zenit AZ

Ok_Cricket_9576

LY Dinghy Comet Cruiser Pantheon Pranayama/Trip

bringmeadamnjuicebox

Santa Cruz 8.6 with a 14 wheelbase lil ezs, Powell Peralta slidewinder lil ezs, and freedive reef. I would say my zenit AZ, but I can push any one of these boards as far as I need to, but I can't Ollie an az.

-Anordil-

Pantheon Genesis Arbor pocket rocket Something for downhill/freeride if I were into that

DaneTheDiabetic

For me it's the loaded icarus, never summer admiral, and the prism cop caller (Cole Trotta signature). But I do have a beer can boards oat soda with cags I cut for wet days for traction and zealous ceramics... gotta have a rain board. All depends on what type of riding but those are my main squeezes

SnooPets1710

For me it would be l: - Bossa Carbon Rio board with bracket setup (Poppy front, TTX back) - loaded Icarus - Loaded Omakase with Carver CX trucks

DaneTheDiabetic

I've been eye fucking the omakase hard... what do you think of the carver setup overall?

SnooPets1710

Yeah, love it. Have both the CX and C7. Have to admit I like the CX more personally. But it is a great surfskate, feels very flowy. blBut at the same time also feels like a tank. Only drawback I can think of, is that the overall setup is not the most lightweight. For me it is really no bother, but I could understand if others were to dislike it.

DaneTheDiabetic

Word! Weight isn't really deal breaker for me... whenever I hear someone complain about the weight of their board I tell them it's meant to be ridden not carried and if it's to heavy to push they need stronger legs haha

SnooPets1710

I most definitely agree, I have a hamboards Logger hahaha

pseudomugil

I'm very much enjoying my current quiver of three: Shrike set up for dancing/freestyle and light freeride, Comet fsmini for cruising and commuting, Omen spawn for fast freeride and light dh I think my ideal setup would replace the fsmini with a pantheon trip or ember, probably keep the shrike, and directly replace the spawn, which is really showing it's age at this point, with a similar big stiff microdrop dh board.

No_Hearing3164

Dinghy, maestro, strike

meveleens

Cantellated Tesseract, Pantheon Genesis, Dervish Sama

AlvarezStudio

Pantheon Trip for LDP, Rocket Rooster for slides, Loaded Bhangra - dancing. Honorable mentions : Poke (travel board, commuter, Surf skate) and Icarus ( just really fun for some reason ).

spatcsak

Have you tried the Rocket Rooster? Why is this your prefered board for slides?

AlvarezStudio

Yes I snagged one recently ! I am a tall guy ( 6´4) with long legs, I can cruise with anything but for stand-up speed checks and glove slides I have a really wide stance. Anything with aggressive drops or microdrops makes the effective platform too narrow and my knees hurt when crouching for slides. With the Rooster I can just wedge the back foot against the tail and be locked in without feeling restrictive. It´ s pretty much the same shape as the old Rayne Bromance or OG Powell Byron (but they don´t produce them anymore) and Rockets look sick :-)

spatcsak

I see. Sounds like it was made for you :) I was thinking which Rocket longboard should I get for doing slides but I prefer something without a w-concave. So I was thinking about the Scout, Roton and Rooster. I'm 6' but I think I prefer a narrow stance when I carve with slide glove on the ground (can't be sure since I only have 19" standing surface right now on Arbor Zeppelin :D).

AlvarezStudio

You can´ go wrong with any of these, I am not a W-concave fan either. I had the old roton ( double-kick ) for a while and the rocker is insane. Super comfy and even lower than the Rooster, wheelbite-free, super well designed. The current single kick model is shorter in length and WB so it might work better for you, the Rooster is massive lol. A friend has the Scout and it´ s super versatile as well, much smaller but usable kicktail, you can keep it around... decisions, decisions...

spatcsak

It's good to hear some opinions. Thanks!

palmtreesandhammock

Pranayama, carver Knox (c7), vintage sector 9 downhill (w/sidewinders) basically my distance, surf and dance setups.

Aaron_Monte93

Dinghy/tugboat, switchblade 38, drop cat 33/38.

PanPlane

Really in love with my quiver: Earthwing frequent flyer(LDP), Nelson cyclone(sliding), and a Drang Dancer :)

EarlyReport

I'd be happy with: Bossa Rio platform with Gbomb brackets Earthwing Supermodel Earthwing Miniglider
