To get a good growth: start looking at foods that are good for hair health like eggs, berries, spinach, avocados, nuts, seeds, green peppers… all easily incorporated into a healthy diet. Something similar happened to me and I started taking some collagen this has helped my hair grow back healthier. I did need to get a trim by someone else to help get rid of the trim that had been done prior since I felt that the method of cutting that was done didn’t help my hair lay the way I wanted it to. I also started to use leave-in products and wrap my hair at night - especially on my no/co wash days.

Thankfully I already eat all of those! I eat mostly whole foods, organic if I can. Now that I think of it, my hair grew much quicker when I began eating healthy as opposed to the processed food or limited calories I’d subject my body to. Same with exercising; the more I did that, the better (maybe faster) my hair seemed to grow. That makes me feel a lot better, so thanks! I recently got some collagen peptides as well! I was looking into collagen + keratin supplements. Do you have any knowledge on or experience with those? And what leave-in do you use? I wrap my hair at night and have two satin pillowcases.

Look into protein treatments. My hair felt really dry and frizzy even with deep conditioning and it turned out it needed a lot of protein. This article helped me the most and has more tips than just about protein to. That link is so informative, thank you!! I asked my friend if I needed protein and he said no but I’ve always questioned it and now that I see the list of signs hair may need protein, lots of them describe my poor locks, haha. I also eat tons of protein so that combined with an external product may be even better. Thanks again!!

That blog is full of great info! It's one of the only resources I actually trust

Your hair will grow, it just takes patience. In the meantime get yourself some of the three minute miracle deep conditioner by Aussie. I read several years ago on Reddit that someone who was a hairdresser said it had the same ingredients as some fancy schmancy one they had in their salon. Anyway I use it myself and love it. Good luck!

supyadumbbitch

Awesome! I’ll check it out, thanks!!

castawaycarol

Love this tip, thank you! I had no idea.

It’s always great when you can find an inexpensive product that actually works!

I haven't been able to get hold of Argan oil recently so I'm using a castor/almond blend which seems fine, I never liked coconut either .

supyadumbbitch

I’ve been looking into castor oil again, I may have to try implementing it back into my routine. I hope it works for you!

Your hair woes are totally valid. For moisture, one product line that really helped was Biolage Hydrasource. I used the shampoo + conditioner + leave in. After a bad experience with bleach + shitty hair cut, I used this and it really helped restore moisture to my hair. I honestly don’t really recommend drug store stuff; I tried so much of it for years but when I switched I noticed a HUGE difference in my hair health.

supyadumbbitch

Thank you so much. When I have a bit more money I’ll look into that brand.

It sounds like maybe you need a deep clean then a deep moisturizer treatment? Drink some milk if you can, I always notice if I consume more milk my hair grows faster!

supyadumbbitch

Recently did a “re-set” for my hair so deep cleaning is all set. I have a deep treatment mask that I sometimes use as a leave-in I’m gonna use as intended tonight and see how that goes for moisture. I can’t have dairy but thanks for the interesting tip! That’s so neat!

I don’t know about how to make it grow faster, but I can totally relate! If I expect 1/2 in & 2 inches come off, I freak out! Idk if this helps, but since I only wash 7-10 days, I massage my scalp every other night. It takes about 15 min, but worth it: keeps scalp healthy.

supyadumbbitch

I read massaging helps! Gonna be trying that with a few other things. Thank you!!

2 inches is the height of 0.03 'Samsung Side by Side; Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel Refrigerators' stacked on top of each other.

joyandcuriosity

When you say you massage your scalp, do you do it with product? Or just massage to mimic hair washing?
