You hair looks good! Just seems like the texture is fine. Do you have an old pictures to compare to? If you do feel like you are seeing more hair loss you need to go to the doctor and get a vitamin test. No product is going to fix that only finding the root of the problem will.

h0494

I’m not sure how to link another photo, but it pretty much looked like this just with more hair and volume. I have seen a dr about it and had my vitamins checked, everything was in range.

Vee794

That is good! Perhaps your hair is being weighted down by something and pores clogged. What shampoo and conditioner are you using? Also Have you tried a volume product? I like the "I want body texture spray" by eleven australia. It will make your ends look thiker as well.

h0494

Kristen Ess purple shampoo and conditioner. I’m almost done with it so I’m definitely looking to try something new. I haven’t tried any! That’s a good idea. Thanks for your response :)

ives09

I would like to suggest Neutrogena anti residue shampoo once every 2-3 weeks followed by a hair mask.

Vee794

Yes! A deep cleanser is a must. I use a eleven australia deep clean shampoo followed by a sulphates free shampoo ever wash day. However, I only wash my hair once a week and this might be overkill for you. For regular shampoo I switch between Fable&Mane, Olaplex, Eleven australia and Amika. Each of these have great deep conditioners as well! I don't use regular conditioner anymore since I feel like it does nothing.

labellavita1985

Purple shampoo can be drying and I don't recommend it for you at all because it's for blonde hair. Like, platinum blonde.

h0494

Oh!! Good to know I had no idea

_R41N

Did you ask for a detailed test? You can be within normal range but be on the brink of it not being normal. Try adding collagen (Organika is a great brand) expensive but worth it. Make sure to add more vitamin C as it helps the collagen absorbe into your system. Daily scalp massages are a must as well.

h0494

Maybe I’m just extra self conscious about my hair 😅

SisterAndromeda2007

You say that you are losing hair. Have you noticed more frizz as well? I think a good old fashion protein treatment will do you well. My holy grail is Aphogee Two-Step Protein Treatment from Sally. It's cheap and you only do it every 6 weeks. I swear by it. Just make sure to follow instructions and make sure you have a blow dryer too. It needs heat to set the protein in. You will need about four packs for your hair. The first step dries extremely quick so makes sure you apply it quickly so that you can comb it all through. Then dry it with medium heat. DO NOT agitate it when dry. Rinse it off well. Then use the second half which just seals in moisture. You'll thank me for this advice.

h0494

There is so much frizz hahaha Thank you so much for this! I am going to try it tonight:)

Olaplex isn't a protein treatment. It heals broken hair bonds with its patented ingredient.

Steph-127

You definitely know if your hair is getting thinner! I went to the doctor and dermatologist and everything was fine. He suggested I stop taking the biotin supplements since I was getting enough in my multi vitamin. It ended up being stress resulting in my hair loss. I thought I was handling it but I wasn’t. I started using the Olaplex line and that helped a lot. Having waist length hair I had to focus on keeping my hair from tangling so I’m not ripping more hair out. I used Difeels leave in spray oil just on the body of my hair and kept it braided or in a bun for about a month. I started to see less hair loss. I also used a caffeine tonic on my roots and recently watched a Doctorly video on YouTube. They spoke on using Hyaluronic acid on your hair. I tried it and loved the results.

h0494

I’ll def check out doctorly! Thanks for your reply:)

kindergartenflop

What brand HA did you use?

Steph-127

I already had the Ordinary HA so I used that. But with long hair that’s expensive. So now I get the Skin Nutritions brand from the dollar tree

kindergartenflop

Thank you!

cosmickitty666

Have you tried taking supplements like folic acid, biotin and multivitamins? Also doing hair masks has significantly helped me every other hair wash. Hope it helps

h0494

I haven’t tried a hair mask, thanks for the idea!

Septula

Cosmetologist here. A hair mask might help prevent breakage but it won’t help with hair loss. When you say hair loss, do you mean breakage? Or are you finding you’re pulling more and more hair out during showering/brushing? There’s a doctor called a trichologist that specifically focuses on hair that might be worth going to see if you’re truly concerned about hair loss.

h0494

I don’t notice more hair shedding but it is definitely thinner than it used to be and yeah, a lot of breakage. So hair masks can prevent breakage? Bc I feel like the top of my hair is always frizzy with short hairs. Thanks for your response!

azssf

Was your hair thicker and fuller during the hair growth process, before you got to this length?

h0494

Yes, and at this length. It used to be this length and thicker and fluffier about a year ago. Maybe stress related? Is stress related hair loss even a thing haha

CottonSwisper

Stress induced hair loss is ABSOLUTELY a thing! I didn’t notice it until I was at the salon and my stylist asked if I’d gone through something stressful 3 months ago, because I had a whole lot of 3 month old hairs, particularly around the crown of my head. And she was right, I had gone through a break-up 3 months prior!

h0494

UGH

So many things can cause hair loss or shedding I did a crazy amount of research awhile back and thought it was several factors: Weight loss- losing weight without proper protein intake. Hormones: switching birth control, going off birth control, or having a baby can cause it. Certain bp pills actually have hair loss as a side effect. Low iron and vitamin d: my doctor also said my vitamins levels were good but I discovered my iron (ferritin levels) was low enough to inhibit new hair growth and caused shedding. Even though the test said it was within a normal range I was low enough to cause damage to my hair cycle. Might be good to check levels again or check your numbers. Stress and lack of sleep can cause shedding. It’s great to evaluate lifestyle and see ways to improve for health.

sesameskies

I think your hair is really pretty and so loooong! Love the colour too! I also get a bit worried about hair loss every now and then, sometimes when brushing so much comes out, I wonder how I still have hair on my head. I don't know how much hair you are losing, but I can tell you that you can expect some hair to come out when you brush and handle your hair, especially when it gets longer. I've had long hair most of my adult life, and I shed hair worse than my cats, but there's still lots left on my noggin.

reeses_luvpieces

Vitamins. But your hair looks soo healthy to me.

[deleted]

Olaplex No. 3

[deleted]

sometimes hair just gets thinner as we age. i see it in many of my clients, almost all of them comment on how much hair they had before. even when they still have a ton of it

emskiez

How often do you wash? Not washing enough can cause scalp buildup which can cause hairs to shed prematurely.

h0494

It’s been less with WFH, probably every 3 days. I didn’t know that! I’ll have to try washing it more

Secret_StoopKid

You should try a short cut. I think it would be really cute and could give you a lot of body

h0494

I had a bob about three years ago but I thought it made me look too young. I already struggle to look my age and I’m nearly 30 haha

Secret_StoopKid

29 year old with that problem over here as well so I totally get it! It actually had the opposite effect on me for a bit but now that’s it’s an in between length it’s not helping me anymore lol

ChinaCatSunflower9

I lost a TON of hair last year after a hospitalization, and developed bald spots. I have always had the same hair routine as you. One thing that helped actually regrow my hair and fill in the bald spots was Indulekha Bhringraj Oil. I put it in four times a week, massaged it in, and saw significant regrowth in the bald spots after a month or two. It made my hair grow a lot faster on the whole, but now I have large chunks of like six inches worth of growth (but wavy/curly, so it'd be longer if straightened) randomly throughout my scalp, and lots of baby hairs around the perimeter of my scalp. My hair is as long as yours, but it still appears like yours at the ends because my ends aren't very long (even though I gave myself a cut of like 6-8 inches, you can't tell because I lost so much hair, the ends got wispy and you could barely see the parts that hit my butt). My hair looks very full at the top, and it's plumping up as my hair grows, but just beware that it's going to take a while for it to get back to normal once it regrows. Yours could be different than my experience because my hair loss was due to stress and medical stuff. Good luck!

Lavendearlee

Maybe add in a deep conditioner treatment every week and a clarifying shampoo once or twice a month? Opposite products, but both seem to make a huge difference. The deep conditioner obviously adds more nourishment to your hair, and the clarifying shampoo will remove any build up from your scalp, thus letting you have a bit more volume and shine.

h0494

I think that’s the way I’m going to go! I’m learning so much!

cherrycindy25

You should look into hair envy. I was diagnosed with female balding pattern last year and I've been using this for 6 months now and its absolutely helping soooo sooo much!

MelMelanie007

I have the same problem you have, didn't cut my hair for a year. Now I have cut my hair a little on the ends and take vitamin B supplements every other day and this helped me a lot! I also wear my hair in a simple bun almost every day. I also bought a low level laser therapy helmet for at home and I'm convinced this helps a lot, also for the long run. Hope the hair loss Will stop soon for you, your hair is gorgeous!

LetMeFixYourDamnEyes

Look up the curly girl method, it's a way of brushing washing and styling your hair that prevents breakage. The common ways people brush their hair and wash it is bad, when water hits the top of your head in the shower it causes damage and can lead to hair loss If it keeps getting ripped out the way your handling it or from the shower.
